“Good feedback overall. Not quite as good as the usual sky high standard on this occasion as the "similar titles" suggested were pretty off base, which threw things a bit. You know when you feel like your script is being criticised on the basis of a genre/character assumption that isn't right. And then from that point pushed in a direction where it wasn't intended to go. Still, plenty of good stuff I could use and have actioned quite a few points so all good. Will still be coming back as a matter of course, of course!”

“My report was delivered well before the due date. The notes were extensive and encouraging and I've already managed to implement a few of the more eye-opening suggestions in time for a couple of competitions. The encouragement and validation alone were well worth the price. The quality of the notes and myriad comprehensive references to details in my script clearly indicate that Industrial Scripts uses consultants who are streaks ahead of the minimally experienced first-tier readers employed by certain other sites. In other words, they ACTUALLY read my script in full! This wasn't just a 'skim' or mere 'courtesy read'.”

“A very thorough and well thought through report. Slightly let down by a little confused hedging on both sides of an argument. I also had a review of my previous script and maybe because that script was in a worse state - I received more immediately useful, specific notes to help me improve it so even though it annoyed me at the time how much the guy hated it, it massively helped the script. The only criticism of that report was there were a couple of factual errors as to the content of the script but I just took that as indirect advice that my next draft had to be really, really clear. Industrial scripts gives the best reports I've seen yet as an amateur writer and I will use them again.”

“Was prompt and lengthy. It was clear that the reviewer had really made an effort to engage with the script, which is lovely. My only complaint is that the feedback was almost entirely positive (aside from a few details and quibbles) but I didn't receive any information on the Talent Connecter, so presumably I only received a pass grade. While this is ok, not everyone's script will be good enough for the programme, I would have liked to have more constructive criticism about how to improve the script. From my perspective, I also think it would make a significant difference to the peace of mind of your clients if you designated the pass grade, instead of leaving them hanging on an increasingly unlikely offer. That is the only thing, though, that stops me from giving a 5* review.”

“The feedback I received was fantastic- on time, detailed and insightful. I was offered a place in the talent connector program, but unfortunately, I wasn't contacted at all during the period when they sent my details out. Unfortunately, with the drop in the Aussie dollar, this service is now less affordable for me at the moment; though I will definitely consider using them the next time I require expert feedback.”

“The report on my script arrived in time and the consultant even went slightly above-and-beyond the call of duty, delivering additional pages of analysis to those promised. The comments were very helpful and I managed to improve my script considerably. Though the rating page was missing, I didn't get a 'pass', so that was good news.”

“Highly detailed, honest report of my script. Delivered on time, and at length. The reviewer spent a great deal of effort highlighting issues with my work, although I had hoped it would have scored better I can understand why the apsects of plot, dialgoue and my character did not work for the reviewer. It was insightful, honest feedback, and the explanation and reason behind why the various plot lines and characters failed was logical and now much clearer to see as a writer, from the readers perspective. The reviewer also spent additonal time outlining how the script could be improved which was most useful. Think I'll stick to the day job. Writing a compelling script is NOT easy!”

“This course was really effective for anyone interested in developing their skills as a script reader. Not only does it cover the basic elements of a script report in a good amount of detail, it also focuses on the industry itself and where a script reader sits within the world of production and development. The pre and post course assignments are also very useful and a great way to showcase what you have learnt on the day. I would definitely recommend.”

“The Effective Script Reading course was a very useful intensive course packed with helpful tips. As a screen writer, it has given me an added advantage to look at a script from an accessor's point of view. The many invaluable scripts given to us are good examples to follow even though they are not the most current films. Cant wait to read their feedback on my homework to see if I can be a good accessor.”

“This is the third time I've purchased the Coverage service. As usual, the report was delivered promptly. This time, however, it is obvious that a different reader read the script, a reader no less thorough in addressing problems that he/she perceived, but one who's perspective differed from the previous reader. Whereas I felt the initial reader was enthused and moved by the project, I felt this reader to be less supportive. However, I realize this is the reality of any creative process and I hope it will only make my story stronger.”

“Provided a good review of my script which was detailed and interesting. Was overly detailed in giving me background in similar TV genres, that I was familiar with and didn't need details of. Felt like a way of using up page space. Was a little delayed in returning feedback to me, but apologised and offered me a free service in exchange. Overall the notes were useful and interesting and I qualified for their talent connector service, which is an excellent addition that Industrial Scripts provides.”

“The script I sent in is my first and is very important to me as it is based on personal family history. I sent it to a couple of friends and received very positive feedback. However I felt a more impartial view might help me move the story forward. Having attended the Script writing for beginners course run by Industrial Scripts and found that very informative, I chose them to review my script. The Pros The report was 5 pages long, the consultant had apparently added some extra pages in. It made some very important suggestions as to how I can ramp up the tension and drama in various scenes, suggestions on how I can improve the structure of a couple of scenes and so on. They also made suggestions that would improve the marketability of the film to a younger market. Once I have fully digested the report, I will work on ways I can implement some of the suggestions they made. The Con I paid extra to have my script assessed within a 2 week timescale. Unfortunately this deadlines was missed. I emailed the next day, apologies were made and the report was finished and sent to me the very next day, with a partial refund offered in compensation. The Conclusion As a first time screenwriter I was very nervous 'offering' my script up for wider reviewing, but have found the feedback very useful.”
