The comments I received were helpful and accurate.

Your readers notes were great. They pointed out things I missed or were overlooked. The one critic I have, was that a number of the readers concerns were answered in the script, they just missed them. Allen

Great to have feedback from someone who actually knows (and likes) the genre I have written in. All too often readers who have no liking for horror films (for example) are asked to review horror screenplays. It shouldn't make a difference if they like the genre or not but the fact is it does. And it colours any assessment. I'm glad to say this reviewer (pretty much) got what I was aiming for. Got the references and the target audience. I don't agree with everything he/she critiqued but it was well worth the money I paid and I value the feedback. It has been very useful. Thank you. BTW my review is for internal use ONLY and cannot be used for advertising purposes. :-)

I enjoyed reading the review of the script I wrote. I find as a writer, you get stuck inside the story, and you need an objective outside view of the things you wrote. I've refrained from giving the review a full endorsement because I think there is a missing component that, as a writer, I would appreciate. I would like to see a comment or a grading on the mechanics of the work. For example, I did not get any feedback on the quality of the dialogue. I guess it would be helpful to have a separate overview similar to the rating I'm giving your review. All in all, it is worth the price to get feedback. I will get back to work on my script.

What impressed me most was that the reviewer had read the script thoroughly and knew exactly what was going on. I appreciated the analysis and have incorporated most of the recommendations in my next draft. I have also changed the title!

This was a very useful and full report. The criticisms were justified with clear reasons, most of which I would have to agree with as being points where I felt uneasy when reading this (first) draft. There was also quite a lyrical interpretation of the theme of the story which I found quite moving as well some intriguing suggestions as to the further development of the script. The analysis of the script's marketability was detailed and in line with my expectations when writing. It was reassuring to know that the reader and I were in agreement on the kind of the audience the script was aimed at. My criticism of the report. I felt that the a closer reading of the dialogue might have answered some of the questions raised by the reader. On the whole though it was worth the money, and I'd recommend this service to any screenwriter who wants a realistic, industry standard appraisal of their work.

Criticism is not easy; but as writers -especially new writers- it is a necessary evil. "Industrial Scripts" will tell you things as they are. When I got my report, I must admit, initially I was a little bit depressed. I didn't want to admit that there were so many things I got wrong. However it is important to know the truth, if you want to progress in this industry. The result of feedback I got from "Industrial Scripts" was a second draft that even I thought was better than the first. I have since entered several competitions with the second draft and I feel more optimistic about my script. There is one criticism I would like to mention though. Dear "Industrial Scripts", please emphasise a little bit more the positive points of our scripts. Maybe the report should finish with the positives. The report should make us feel a bit more hopeful and optimistic.

The feedback for my script was great on character and structure. It was also turned around in excellent time. My only critique was that it contained a couple of errors when referencing back to the text: but given that it was turned around in very short time I can't really blame them for that. The feedback did make me realise that my project would never go anywhere, and I agree that perhaps this is not the best service for those of us at the bottom of the food chain. I felt a bit disheartened that there was a whole could-be-selected-for development angle, tantalisingly, but that I didn't come up to scratch for - I didn't really know what to do to fix the problems based on the feedback - so I did feel that the project was hopeless. That said, I felt that they were trying to pigeonhole-hole a cross-genre idea into some tired old formulae... but perhaps that's sour grapes. I came away with the impression that the person writing the report was selecting from a list of stock responses rather than responding to the script, and I felt bad for having made them read it, but at least it stopped me from wasting another 9 months writing it! So in conclusion I'm glad that they were completely honest and didn't get my hopes up to get me to pay for further feedback or anything like that. If you really want the truth, ask Industrial Scripts.

Industrial Scripts is an excellent service for screen writers. They are more expensive than most script doctors - but - they charge a lot because they are undoubtedly good. For experienced screen writers I would give Industrial Scripts an easy 5/5 for any stage in the process. The reason I only give them 4/5, in this instance, is because I feel that their more in depth notes are not as suitable for less experienced screenwriters. My advice to less experienced screen writers is to have the early drafts of your scripts polished by a cheaper script doctor, and then send it to Industrial Scripts for more thorough notes and access to 'Talent Connector' when your project is further along the creative process. Let the cheaper script doctor fix problems with structure and point out any grammar and spelling issues etc. then send it to Industrial Scripts. I also strongly recommend that both more and less experienced writers opt for their cheaper services such as their 'Project Screening Service' or their 'Detailed Project Screening Service' before investing in further doctoring. £30+ seems a lot to be told your idea is no good and ideas are fragile but, if in doubt, get some feedback at the first stages of your project.
