My team worked for months to get me coverage and I'm so incredibly grateful that they did. I'm on week 1 of Zepbound and I can already tell this is life changing!!!

Like others have said, it seems to be their policy to drag out the drug pre-approval as long as possible so that you keep paying and eventually find out the drugs are not covered. My experience was a total fiasco, with them first telling me that my insurance company did not find record of me. They asked me to contact the ins. co., which I did, and they easily found my policy with the exact same information Sequence had. Then they told me the company declined to cover the first med they tried. Then they went on to the second one and came back to tell me that since they are out of network, no pre-approval is possible from my HMO. So, why did it take three tries to find that out? When I look at my insurance records online, there is no record at all of them even filing a pre-approval. I think this is a scam unless you are diabetic or have serious health issues. Don't get your hopes up. I wasted several weeks for nothing.

I agree that this is a scam. They lead you to believe that you qualify for a GLP-1 to get you to pay, then jerk you around for a month as you send copies of everything and then tell you that your insurance probably won’t pay for the GLP-1, but hey, we can send you some pills. It was a slow process, and after one month I tried to cancel, asked for refund, no dice, had to pay for 3 months for NOTHING. I always had a lot of respect for Weight Watchers. No Wonder Oprah stepped down.

I would like to recognize and thank my team coordinator, Candace S. for the excellent service she is providing to me. She has been extremely responsive in trying to help me locate and obtain the appropriate weight loss medication. She has usually responded earlier than expected to any inquiry that I have made. I can not say enough about Candace. She defintely adds value to the company and offers first class, consumer oriented customer service. She is a Super Star!!!

I didn't see all of these negative reviews until after signing up. After reading them i hoped I wouldn't regret it, but so far, I don't have complaints about Sequence. It's not their fault the drugs they prescribe are in high demand, insurance doesn't always cover them and there are manufacturing delays. The Nationwide shortage of the more popular drugs under the program is frustrating, but Sequence is upfront about it. There's a notice on their website about the shortage and my Dr. and care team also communicated this to me during my initial consultation and in subsequent messaging. Like many, I was excited to see if I would qualify and I didn't research thoroughly before signing up which is on me. With that said, even though my RX hasn't been filled yet, the service with Sequence so far has been great. I signed up early Saturday morning and my video consultation was four hours later. I was told it could retake a few weeks to coordinate prior authorization with my insurance company, but after being denied the first drug option on Monday, because it's not an approved drug for my insurance, I was approved for Wegovy on Wednesday. My RX was sent to my pharmacy Wednesday evening. After doing some research, I called CVS to find out if the drug was in stock and was told it's on backorder. I communicated this to my Sequence Care Coordinator who has always responded within 24 hours or less and let her know which pharmacies I already checked with. She asked me to provide some additional zip codes 10-20 miles away and that Sequence would try to find a pharmacy who could fill the RX. I did this and also found a local pharmacy that doesn't keep Wegovy in stock, but says they can get it. I messaged my coordinator and we'll see what happens in the next few days. Meanwhile, I've been following the WW program and recommendations Sequence has given me for diet and activity. The information is not new to me, but has been a good refresher and is helping me get off to a good start while waiting for my RX. The monthly WW membership that's 19.95 is included with the Sequence plan and the first month with Sequence is free. This is fair considering the extra time to get meds due to the drug shortage and that not all insurance companies are as quick to respond as mine. I paid $49.00 for the initial consultation (fair), the first month of Sequence is free (fair), WW membership is included (fair) and communication with my care team has been timely and good. My monthly fee to Sequence is going to be $84 for three months. Since I'm getting a WW membership that cost $19.95 per month free, Sequence is costing me $64 per month with the first month free. I don't know how long it will take to get the order filled, but my RX is already in line. I could cancel Sequence, and my prescription, and lose my place in line or I can wait patiently. I feel like I can be patient because with my insurance, my copay should be minimal. Some reviews have mentioned that Sequence knows upfront whether certain insurance will authorize a drug or not, making the process a scam but it's not that simple. There are factors that determine whether an insurance carrier covers a particular drug and there are requirements for coverage. My insurance is with Aetna. As an examole, here are their requirements for Wegovy which may be similar to other carriers: COVERAGE CRITERIA The requested drug will be covered with prior authorization when the following criteria are met: • The patient is 18 years of age or older AND º The patient has completed at least 3 months of therapy with the requested drug at a stable maintenance dose AND • The patient lost at least 5 percent of baseline body weight OR the patient has continued to maintain their initial 5 percent weight loss. [Documentation is required for approval.] OR º The requested drug will be used with a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity for chronic weight management in an adult AND • The patient has participated in a comprehensive weight management program that encourages behavioral modification, reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity with continuing follow-up for at least 6 months prior to using drug therapy AND • The patient has a body mass index (BMI) greater than or equal to 30 kilogram per square meter OR • The patient has a body mass index (BMI) greater than or equal to 27 kilogram per square meter AND has at least one weight related comorbid condition (e.g., hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus or dyslipidemia) OR • The patient is 12 to 17 years of age AND º The request is for continuation of therapy for a patient that has successfully titrated to a stable maintenance dose AND • The patient has a reduction from their baseline body mass index (BMI) OR the patient has continued to maintain their reduction in BMI from baseline. [Documentation is required for approval.] OR º The requested drug will be used with a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity for chronic weight management AND • The patient has participated in a comprehensive weight management program that encourages behavioral modification, reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity with continuing follow-up for at least 6 months prior to using drug therapy AND • The patient has an initial body mass index (BMI) in the 95th percentile or greater standardized for age and sex (obesity) I hope reading my review and about my experience has been helpful. Good luck on your weight loss journey!

This has been such a joyful experience and I plan on continuing for many more months!! The care I get is amazing. They are caring & professional. I highly recommend them if you want to loose weight! The real problem is that the prescription weight loss medications are not available. I have paid for 9 months of the Sequence Subscription, but have received only 3 months on medication. I suggest going to a clinic that administers the medication in their office. Communication with Sequence was always pretty good and quite responsive. Always apologetic for the lack of availability of the medication, but had no solutions. They suggested trying a different medication, but my research indicated that none were readily available. The good news is that I lost about 18 pounds, but sadly, I am cancelling my subscription to Sequence because I am not able to get medication through them.

There are many flaws with this program. Not only are the meds overly expensive with most insurers, but they are out of stock. Sequence offers scripts for meds that are not obtainable due to price and shortage. Even the core medications they offer are now on a back order/ shortage. What’s the point? Sequence cannot fulfill their end of the contract. I will be reporting. The service is very slow to respond. They spend the first 4 weeks you pay for just authorizing meds. The dietitian and exercise and WW membership come much later - week 3 or 4? It’s ridiculous.

I too wish I had read the reviews before signing up. The only thing that I can say good about the Sequence/Weight Watchers experience was that the clinician said I would be refunded my $49. I like others, did the thing to see if I qualified and I did. At no time did anything say if you’d rather not take a glp-1 that you should not proceed. I read that other types of medications are covered as part of the membership. The process to sign up was long and I uploaded my labs which I regret not. I don’t want a company who treated me like I was treated today to have any information about me yet now this scam of a company has all my information and history. I put the medications I am on in the information and not once was anyone kind and real enough to say, if you’re on this were not going to do anything for you. I had my video appointment today and it lasted less than 8 minutes. The clinician was very cold and made me feel like I was bothering her. As soon as I mentioned having tried Ozempic samples and that they didn’t work nor did I like how unwell it made me feel she got worse. I told her I knew my insurance wouldn’t cover any weight loss medications (which is why I was excited about this program). What I was hoping for and was reassured after going through the “lessons” was totally possible. The clinician made me very uncomfortable to the point I didn’t even want to look in her direction. She didn’t smile or even try to be pleasant. If I went to her as a regular doctor, I would switch immediately. She may as well have just said, I am in this to only push glp-1 medications to make money. She immediately told me “with my history” I didn’t qualify for any of the oral meds and how ineffective Metformin is. She said I didn’t qualify to try Bupropion/Naltrexone because I was already on Buproprion. Now what kind of sense does that make?? I wanted to be sure of what she was saying so I said so…I can’t get anything? She said no, I will inform the care team to cancel your membership and provide a full refund. And that was the end of it. I tried to look at the information online to make sure I wasn’t seeing things when I read they would provide oral medications as part of the membership if that’s what I chose ( I knew it said that) but literally had to be within 1 minutes she had deactivated my account. I was felt disgusted, embarrassed, upset and many other emotions. It was one of the most scammy, inconsiderate thing I’ve ever experienced. I understand glp-1’s are big money makers but my goodness…these are humans that they are dealing with. I didn’t even feel like a customer at that point, at least sales people pretend to be nice, concerned and interested to a certain point. What I would compare it to that I think a lot of people can relate to is a car lot sales experience. As long as they can talk you into something that isn’t the best fit for you they will be helpful but as soon as they see you have your own preference and feelings about what you do or don’t want you’re off no use to them. The only difference is that my clinician didn’t even attempt to make me feel welcomed. I feel really stupid how hopeful I was about this appointment. I chose it because I kind of feel like I’m being judged when I try to get help with losing weight at my pcp. This felt much worse. My sister helped me lose weight with what she learned when she did weight watchers as far as about what foods I could eat for little or no calories and I lost weight years ago. However, even though I know that the traditional weight watchers program is helpful, I do not recommend this option to anyone and now do not trust Weight Watchers anymore either because of this partnership or choice they have made to provide this type of service when they don’t even try to hide all they are is help-1 pushers. They don’t care if they’re helpful or not as long as they get people on those medications. I did not have any issue getting them to respond via messages, they actually seemed really nice but I am thankful I didn’t want any glp-1 meds because I don’t need all of the stress and problems that many others experienced in trying to even get them after they were prescribed. I normally don’t bother with writing reviews because I feel companies that I have bad experiences with don’t care anyway. But in this instance I don’t expect them to care at all, I just want to help someone who may very well be getting ready to waste their time and have false hopes about this program avoid what I am feeling now. I am going to look for other places to leave a review as well. It was difficult to find honest, informative reviews about this program. If they don’t refund my money like she said, I will be back to report that.

An absolute scam! There is zero indication that there will be any difficulty obtaining the GLP-1 meds at the time one signs up. This information is not shared until the actual process begins. Once a med is authorized they will send the prescription to the pharmacies in your zip code only. How much sense does that make? Your end of the bargain is finding the medicine, not stop the search and say "well you can take these oral meds instead". No, I did not sign up for these meds, I was promised a GLP-1. Thankfully, I was not charged the 3rd month because I had enough and told them I was done with them wasting my time and it would be best for them to not charge me an additional $84 for doing NOTHING. ZERO stars, disgusting business practices, total rip-off. Don't do it!

I love Sequence! I have tried for years to eat right, exercise, & be healthy. I was desperate when I decided to try Sequence. My care coordinator and my clinician have both been amazing. They’ve answered questions, supported me, & helped me work through struggles. I cannot recommend Sequence enough. Below I have added pictures of my progress from January 1 to March 1. The difference on the scale is 9 lbs, but you can see it’s looks like much more. Thanks to Sequence, I am on the meds I need to help me drop weight and become healthy. I finally have the energy to work out again and the ability to make good choices when it comes to food.

Zero stars. At $84/month, prepare for Weight Watchers/Sequence clinicians to dangerously fail to manage your care or call in your prescriptions on time, leaving you to suffer with painful gaps in care, no customer service, and, ultimately, no recourse. The “24/7” WW coaches say they can’t help when a customer is being screwed over by their clinician who is refusing to do their job, and there is no customer support line to make complaints. This isn’t medicine, this is a complete scam.

I wish I could give them a 0-rating! They have you take a “quiz” to see if you qualify for their program. I took the quiz and was told that I qualified. I paid the money and was so excited to get started! I had to schedule an appointment, and that took a week or so. In the meantime, I had to upload all kinds of different information, recent labs, insurance cards, a photo of me on the scale, etc. Today was my video appointment to get me started on the medication. My appointment literally did not even last 2 minutes because she said I did not qualify based off of my BMI. The SAME bmi that I “qualified” for in the beginning when they took my money! I will also be reporting to the BB. I work hard for my money. I got nothing in return. I received NO service whatsoever. Steer clear of Sequence. Nothing but thieves!

I can’t say enough about my Sequence care team. Shannon, my NP, and Abigail, my Care Coordinator are so positive, warm, and consistent. I really feel like I matter and they make me want to succeed in this journey. I have to admit, I canceled my membership after the first month. I didn’t get any prescription filled despite my Sequence Care Team’s efforts. Honestly, I was all over the place having just moved back to the States and starting over establishing care under a new PCP. I cancelled because I thought I knew what I wanted and needed in my weight loss efforts. But I discovered that my new PCP hates GLP-1 medications even though she said Im a great candidate. And she explicitly said that she hates dealing with the prior authorization so she won’t prescribe them. Okay so I was back to square one. A friend suggested that I try a competitor to Sequence. I found out I could try them out for a month for free. I did. But it cost me a $290. While I met with a provider via video chat, she didn’t give a rat’s booty about me. Every time I’d need my prescription refilled or I had a question, I’d have to pay $130 just to speak with the provider who only gave me 20 minutes. The worst part of that experience was honestly that this other company makes it seem like my insurance would refund me the cost of the appointment since I chose an in-network provider. That wasn’t the case. I only found out after my first 2 appointments. So I rejoined Sequence and Abigail welcomed me back with so much kindness and compassion. Shannon really takes the time to ask questions and she comforts me in a way that doesn’t feel like she’s merely doing her job. She wants to help me over the hurdles of the side effects. They respond to my umpteen messages very quickly, thoroughly, and consistently. I can ask questions and I’m comforted knowing that my side effects and/or concerns are valid. I don’t have to worry about scheduling appointments and feeling like a number. It’s hard enough to be in this space of needing a GLP-1 for weight loss. But having Abigail and Shannon on my side makes me feel like this is the right choice. While I’m on the hunt for a new PCP, I think I’ll stay with Sequence regardless — for the consistent personalized and warm support that Shannon and Abigail provide.

To give it one star is doing too much. This is just a way of taking peoples hard earned money when they are fully aware that insurance will not cover the medications unless its for type 2 diabetes. They gave me the runaround for over a month and I've accomplished nothing but frustration from being duped. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It started off good I had my consult I got approved for Zepbound and 1 month later my insurence cahnged and I said I need a refill on the medication but to least of my knowledge my insurance carrier needs a pre-authorization for this medicine. I’ve been trying to reach someone for one week already trying to solve this problem and no one and is really helping I am just getting runaround saying they have faxed my pre-authorization to my insurance company but but the insurance company says they have not received anything and I’ve been checking online to see if it’s been sent and nothing is there as well I have been given the run around for 1 week already and it’s most frustrating thing that I have inquired. Now I’m already off the medication. It’s gonna be a week and still nothing.
