I ordered their service for Friday 13th Sept. I indicated that I was clearing out a complete condo. Furniture, carpets, beds, crockery, utensils, etc. Whe Ryan arrived he looked at it and told me he couldn't do it because he was told that they were removing 2 beds and "a couple of cardboard boxes". They made a new appointment for today at between noon and 2 p.m. When they arrived they were not happy with the parking spot available saying that it was too far to carry things to the truck (one car length!!). Oddly enough the same parking spot was acceptable to the Friday crew??!! When Ryan left on Friday his one request was that we book the elevator, which we did. He had no issue with the parking spot. Now we have to go back tomorrow and try to get this done. I am not impressed with their operation. One star because there is no option for no stars! B.D.

I had the Just Junk team come to my home in the Junction Triangle yesterday and had booked between 5-7pm. They called me at 2:30 asking to come early, I stated I was on calls and unable to come out to greet them however the team said they would remove the items and send me pictures while I was on my calls and I could pay remote. Great I thought! Well they sent me pictures not showing the actual area they'd removed trash from in the back, as I was on a call I was distracted and didn't realize so paid the bill and added a tip. I came out there today to see that they hadn't swept the area at all, they sent me a picture of a different angle where I had cleaned over the weekend. This behavior is unethical and though try as I might to reach a real person to get my tip back (which clearly was not earned) no one is willing to speak to me. I have been a loyal Just Junk customer for years, I will never use their services again.

This is in reference to Just Junk in North York, Ontario. I had them come and remove a deck in my backyard and told them I wanted to keep the lanterns that are on the posts. I found the glass to two of them broken at the end and they didn't mention anything to me. I saw them let the post fall to the ground and reminded them to be careful with the lanterns, I should have checked right away but thought they would say something if it was broken. They didn't. I had to find out myself after they left when I went to the back to check/clean up before letting the kids out. They also cut the electrical wire to my outdoor outlet which I noticed right away because my camera was disconnected. When I called about this issue (prior to paying), the franchise owner came right away and told me he will reimburse me to reconnect it. I was so impress with how responsive he was, little did I know, a month later, I'm still calling and waiting to get reimburse for this. Terrible. I would not go with Just Junk for any of my future junk removal.

The onsite cost was far higher than the online estimate, by almost double. I felt highjacked. They get you into a vulnerable position, then put the screws to you. On top of that they have the audacity to ask for a tip.

Their pricing is a scam. They invent it on the spot with no explanation and no justification. I had a nice tidy pile of 4x8 sheets of particleboard that was about 2 feet high. That's less than 4 yards. Somehow in their eyes it amounted to about 6 yards, and there was something called a bedload removal fee that applied to 1/6 of a load. There is nothing I can find on their website that explains what that $179 fee is for. I was also not told that I could have them just take the 4 yards of material that was built into their (not at all free in my area) estimate and not have to pay the extra charges. So my nice simple $259 pickup turned into almost double that at $503 plus tax, and I wasn't given any clear explanation, justification, or option. Don't trust them!

Staff were polite, efficient and compassionate. I had just lost my father and was cleaning out his apartment. They checked with me frequently to make sure they were taking what was set aside and double-checked at every step. They even came earlier than booked with permission. They made a difficult task a little easier. Thank you.

The guys were really nice and careful when moving the item from my home. Living in a condo, I didn’t want to reserve the elevator, so they moved quickly without damage. I only gave you a 3/5 because I was only quoted a price when they got here. Which, by the time was too late for me to make other plans. If I would’ve known it would be that costly, I would’ve rented a pick-up for $25 and taken it to the dump myself and only paid $15 at the dump. Instead I had to pay $160. I don’t enjoy paying $160 for customer service. You should be more upfront with your pricing.

Dealt with Just Junk this past Saturday 20th Nov, 2021 for the first time and have nothing but good things to say. First contact with Mason during the initial estiate was on time and to the point. He was very efficient and had my quote ready within minutes. Any interactions I had with him or his manage Peter were great and response to a ny calls or questions were responded to immediately. On Saturday as promised Michael, Cole and another young man were on site exactly on time and began working. All three were extremely polite which made dealing with them a joy. Another crew of three and a truck showed up halfway through and the job was completed within two hours. Due to the efficiency and professionalism of the crew, the job was completed within the time quoted and approximately $400.00 to $500.00 below the quoted price. The whole situation of dealing with a tenant who vacated the property without notice, and left a disgusting mess in every room was extremely stressful and upsetting. It was a lot easier to deal with due to the efficiency, teamwork and professionalism of the JustJunk team. I recommend this company to anyone that finds themselves in that situation, and will use them again in a heartbeat. Once again , thanks for everything JustJunk team you are much appreciated Todd

Unfortunately Just Junk couldn't deliver the services they promise to deliver on their website. I contacted this business to help my elderly parents get rid of old appliances and general junk prior to their move here in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I sent a detailed list of items to be disposed of when I first approached them about 3-4 days before the day of service. To my surprise, when they arrived on-site, they called me to ask which items were being disposed of. That was the first red flag. My elderly mother had to do a walkthrough of the property to once again indicate which items were being disposed. Following this walkthrough, their employee not only insisted on charging me BEFORE rendering the service but the price changed several times during one single phone conversation. Second red flag. After spending over $550CAD, I was informed by my family that they left behind one of the largest items: a dishwasher. So I called Just Junk to inquire further only to be told that they could not dispose of a dishwasher if it is connected to a water source or electricity. The alleged boss claimed this would not be possible because of some obscure "government law" and their business insurance preventing them from disconnecting appliances. He even went as far as stating this was imposed by the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) of Ontario. How can this be? I figured maybe I was misinformed. I scanned their website (https://justjunk.com/appliance-removal) to see if this had been mentioned. I looked at my booking confirmation email. Nothing. Not once did they mention this limitation before taking my money. The irony in all of this is that they were somehow able to get rid of my parents' washer, dryer and a horizontal freezer with no issue. Either the folks I dealt with lied & are lazy or there's a serious gap in information posted on their website that needs to be addressed. You would think this type of information would be volunteered during my 2-3 interactions with them. I was left quite disappointed seeing as Just Junk was quite responsive when I was a prospective client. Everything changed once they got paid. Horrible client experience. Save your time & money and go elsewhere.

We are sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations after the job we did here in Ottawa. Your first Issue seems to be that we wanted to have a walk around and confirm the items to be removed on site, which is standard practice and allows us to give you a quote before we begin the work. In a lot of cases the lists of items provided can change between booking and job time, so this allows us to give you an accurate quote as well as adjust to any changes in circumstances. In the case of doing a job with the person paying over the phone, we do take payment first. This is simply to ensure we do get paid in a timely fashion. In your case the price did change several times as you put it, as your Mother remembered more items that were to go. The first time a buffet and hutch in the dining room was added. The second time a freezer and desk from the basement was added. As we charge according to volume, the price did change. The next day you did contact our crew and state that a dishwasher was missed in the initial call. We offered to go pick it up and you were advised that it had to be disconnected for us to do so. We are not licensed plumbers, electricians or appliance repair people, so we do not disconnect dishwashers or hard wired appliances of any sort. We have included the link to the ESA below to demonstrate who can do this work. Had we been shown the dishwasher at the initial walk through all of this information would have been provided at that time. I just called the Windsor office to ask about a removal project while we are in federal quarantine. The person I spoke to refused to confirm whether or not our donation items (90% of the items to be removed - most of which could actually be sold if I had the time or energy) will be stored until they can be donated at the end of the current lockdown. She simply repeated only truck drivers can say where items will go - and refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor because we cannot meet with a driver due to quarantine. She did not deny it when I said I can only assume they are simply disposing of all donation items during lockdown - she just repeated the same line over and over. This company should acknowledge their disposal plans openly so customers can make informed decisions.

Hi Annette, we've spoken to our representatives in an effort to improve the messaging on our donations and disposal communication. We are able to donate many of the items we remove yet, as you mentioned, the provincial lockdowns do present some roadblocks to our usual disposal practices. While we, of course, would love to store as many items as possible for future donation this is oftentimes difficult to do and as such it is up to the discretion of the Truck Teams to discuss that with our customers either over the phone or in person. We're sorry for the confusion.
We had Just Junk here this morning at 830. They were on time and had the job done in less than an hour. They were very friendly and worked quickly. I am over the moon satisfied with the work that was completed. A whole shed was gone and random wood is taken care of. They left the yard looking amazing. They even pumped up the tire on my work wagon! That is going the extra mile. Would definetly call here again!

The folks who came to remove the junk were stellar. They had a great attitude even though their task was difficult and physically demanding. They were professional, courteous, and just all-around great human beings. They answered every question I had and went above and beyond in terms of providing great service. I would definitely recommend your service! Thank you! PS - I was worrying a little in terms of how back issues and injury are addressed in this line of work and with your company specifically. I wanted to ensure that the work I was asking of them wasn't going to cause any injury or lasting negative effects.

An appointment was made to remove 10 furniture pieces from a Seniors Home 3 days before the event. Access was discussed as well as required masks. The home was not on lockdown and had no covid case. At 7.30pm the evening before they called to cancel unless I moved all the items outside. Really threw me under the bus...capped the call by "wishing me a nice day" was unbelieveable. The appointment was arranged and detailed in both email and direct conversations.

Our procedures and policies surrounding COVID are ever-evolving and put in place at the discretion of the upper and local management and unfortunately, they can change quickly as more information regarding the virus comes out. As always, we take these comments seriously and will consider them when updating any of our current COVID policies in the future.
The price was at the high end of the estimate, but the real issue was the 12 inch gouge the "professionals" left in my hardwood floor when removing a piece of furniture. It is not a mere scratch. I decided to use "professionals" to avoid this kind of permanent damage to my living room floor. Would definitely not recommend!

I had been worried about having the old chest freezer removed from our basement after it gave up the ghost on Thanksgiving day. I phoned and scheduled two appointments, one with JustJunk and the other with a competitor. Zack called me to say he was in the area and could drop by earlier than expected. I found him to be friendly and respectful of our concerns, courteous and very knowledgeable. I was so impressed with his attitude and demeanor that I made the decision to go with JustJunk and not bother with the other appointment I had scheduled for the same afternoon. I cannot say enough good things about these two young men; the did an absolutely brilliant, top notch job of removing our old chest freezer without causing any damage to anything else in a relatively tight space. Seriously amazing job. My hat is off to Zack and his colleague as well as to JustJunk for hiring such polite and accomplished workers. Based on our experience I recommend JustJunk wholeheartedly. Do not hesitate or look further; they will get the job done beautifully, courteously and in a timely manner. Now I know who to call the next time we need this type of service. Thank you so much!
