I'm not impressed with Keepster. I really don't like the 2-3k message limit for adding imessages to a Keepster folder -- adds more steps than necessary for creating a project. Also, I hate the 800 page book limit because it's really not enough space (I am trying to make a book of only 1 year worth of texts between my fiancee and I, so not multiple years). Lastly, the backup only has texts from the first 4 months and the last month, with months 5-11 completely missing (tried twice). Not sure if it's an iTunes backup issue or a Keepster issue but it's really frustrating.

Dear Evan, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Customer experience is very important to us at Keepster, We're sorry to hear that your experience with our product did not meet your expectations. We strive to make our service as user-friendly and efficient as possible, and we truly value your input. Regarding the 2-3k message limit for adding iMessages to a Keepster folder, we understand that it might be inconvenient for some users. This limit exists to ensure optimal performance and prevent potential issues during the book creation process. However, we're continually working on improving our service, and we'll take your feedback into consideration for future updates. As for the 800-page book limit, we apologize if it has caused any inconvenience. This limit is in place to maintain the book's structural integrity and print quality. However, you might consider creating multiple volumes to encompass the entire year of conversations with your fiancée. In regards to the missing texts from your backup, we're sorry for the frustration this has caused. It could be an issue with your iTunes backup, but we'd like to help troubleshoot and resolve this problem. Our support team will reach out to you shortly to assist you further. Once again, thank you for your feedback, and we appreciate your patience as we work to address these concerns. If you have any additional questions or require further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us at support@keepster.co. Sincerely, Customer Service Supervisor Keepster

There is no option to make the password visible when creating an account. Also when I backed up my iPhone, in one of my message histories, there was photos, and full messages missing.

Hi Emily! We are always grateful when customers share their experience so many thanks for taking the time to do so. As a young and growing business every suggestion is invaluable to us as we are continually striving to make Keepster even better. Unfortunately, it appears that we didn't get a chance to assist you, and wish you had reached out to Customer Support in chat. As you may have noticed in our reviews our Customer Support frequently gets mentioned for the quality of the service we provide, so would love the opportunity to try assist and really hope you will consider contacting us again!

Great idea but extremely expensive. My book would have been over 350 pages and close to $200. And for links sent in a text, the link itself shows in the book http://Spotify.com/song, for example, not the image of the link. I did not order the book so I can’t speak to the quality or a look of the final copy.

Hello Kristina We appreciate your sharing that Keepster is a great idea. The cost of creating a one-off quality printed and bound book is a a relatively expensive thing to do - unlike mass printed books. Still, we have sought to keep our prices as reasonable as possible. In fact if you were to try print up this number of pages at any printing service the cost would be way higher, and they would not have the good quality cover, paper nor professional binding. Possibly you might like to avail yourself of the special promotion that is currently available on our website for a limited time for a 25% discount cost off the cost of the book. In addition there is also the option to order a digital copy of your book for only $14.99, which many customers choose to do, simply by toggling on the "Digital only" option at the top of the "Finalize Book Options" screen. Should you decide to do order your book that way, upon completing your order you on the 'Thank you' Screen there is icon to click on where you can then download the full pdf. Your digital book would then appear - exactly the same as a printed book. Plus you also have the option to share it. We would love you to give this a try and let us know how this option works for you. Thank you so much for your interest in Keepster and for taking the time to let us know more about your experience.

PS Regarding links - that is correct - as of now they will simply appear as links. However with the option to add in more text or images you might choose to write in the title of the song, or whatever else is relevant. This can simply be done when choosing the "Edit Messages' tab in the folder that you used to generate your book project. We understand this might not be ideal but it is a solution. Still, we take every bit of feedback seriously and that's what helps guide us in making decisions about which features to add to our service as we continue to refine our product.

The limit of 3k messages per folder is a deal breaker for me. Also not loving the slow processing speed. Just ultimately not the right fit for my needs.

Keepster allows you to save batches of 3000 to a folder at a time. This is so all those individual messages and photos get processed. We found that batches larger than 3000 has some issues. But, Keepster folders can have an unlimited amount of messages. Here is a blog post that explains how to add more than 3000 messages to a folder: https://keepster.co/blog/how-to-save-thousands-texts

Something in your web led me to believe I could use kerpsyer to convert iMessage to pdf or text. Apparently not possible and not possible with a very long thread. I have no need of a printed book, so the app is gone.

Mark - sorry if something about our website mislead you. But, Keepster specializes in allowing you to make professionally printed books from your iMessages or Whatsapp chats. We have the option to purchase a PDF as an add-on so you have a digital copy of your Keepster Book too. Plus, you're Keepster Book can be up to 800-pages ... so, it would be possible with a very long thread. Hopefully, you reconsider. We are standing by on chat to help you if you need assistance.

Hello Mark, You asked for it - and we listened! It is now possible to order a PDF - without having to order a printed book! Hope you'll give it a try - and if you're satisfied would love you to update your review! As a young company, our goal is to listen to our customers in order to meet their needs, and accordingly expand the services that we offer. So if ever you have any more suggestions please do not hesitate to let us know! Many thanks! The Keepster Team

I like the app and it’s cute to create a book of text. However I strongly dislike that you can just print a pdf from the app. Books are great for the Wife and Grandma, but without the direct ability to print to PDF, it looses the appeal for us in the business world….and I believe a great revenue stream for Keepster.

Thank you for sharing that you like the idea of creating a book of texts! At present, our focus is on creating books as tangible keepsakes, with a digital copy as an add-on. We are committed to providing this unique service, taking into account how emotional or sentimental some texting conversations can be. However, we understand how important texting is in all types of contexts, so the feature to create stand-alone digital copies is already on our roadmap. Thanks again for your interest and please stay tuned!

Free app with virtually no functionality other than to sell you printed books. iMazing is a far superior program for racing up and viewing text messages.

Keepster specializes in allowing you to order high-quality, professionally printed books of your messages. To allow anyone with an iPhone the opportunity to make a message book, we make our software free. The benefit of our free software is the comfort of knowing your messages are backed up to your computer. But, more than that ... you have the ability to view and organize the important messages into folders. We feel this is very useful to people who want to manage their messages without having to pay for additional software.

The overall product is too expensive which is why I didn’t even go through with my order. Also in the book, the emojis are huge compared to the text. Would not recommend.

Hello Maral We are very sorry you found the cost of our books prohibitive. However, our goal is to offer our customers a quality product that will look and feel special, and last for a very long time. In fact, we take great pride in the quality of our books, including the paper we use, the covers, the binding etc so that our customers can land up with something that is 'coffee table book' worthy. Also, printing a one-of-a-kind book is much more costly than books that are mass-produced. In fact, to print a 500 page 'book' at any other printing service would turn out to be even more expensive, and not necessarily come close to the quality that we offer. If you choose to reconsider making a Keepster book, there are 2 other options that can help reduce the costs. Firstly, you can order only one copy of the book, and receive the first time users 20% discount, and have a second digital copy for only $4.99. Another option would be that since the price of the book increases according to the number of pages it has, one can easily reduce the number of pages of a book by editting and removing less significant messages, emojis and images, while including only the conversations that really matter. As for all the other texts that you'd still like to keep safe, they can remain saved, and organized in folders within the app - and you can revisit those, together with your favorites, whenever you like, and as long as you have the app installed on your computer. Last but not least, we very much appreciate your feedback about the size of the emojis. As a young company we are continuously striving to make our product better, and give our customers exactly what they would like. So, we will certainly take your feedback into account as we move forward with making any refinements. Thank you again for your taking the time to share your experience, and for your interest in Keepster.

I think the idea is good but it doesn't follow through. I connect my IPhone 11 via USB and choose the text message conversation that I'd like to save. It seems to be working but doesn't complete, just keeps spinning like it's working. The initial conversation was saved the 1st time I used Keepster. Itunes was updated and I was easily able to choose the conversations to save, and it was done. It hasn't successfully saved a conversation since and the messages are not lengthy.

I couldn’t get all of the stuff downloaded into keepster. I even broke it out into 3 separate months. I still need the month of October and cannot seem to accomplish what I am trying to do. I have yet to receive my “Sept” and “Nov” texts and will see what they look like before further criticizing or adjusting my review. I would love some assistance but don’t seem to be getting it.

I spent six hours selecting 20,000 texts and then I went to create my keepster and was told at that point that they only recommend 2000 to 3000 messages and I had to start all over from the beginning. What a waste of time.

Hi Liz - Thank you for your feedback. We are making changes to the app to provide a warning when you select 20,000 messages. This hopefully saves another person from experiencing what you did when trying to make your Keepster folder. Going forward, Keepster will still allow you to save thousands and thousands of messages to folders. But, when you are in the process of selecting the messages we will show the message about the 3,000 message limit for 1 batch when saving to a folder. We also updated our How-To blog posts with helpful tips related to this topic. Check them out: > https://keepster.co/blog/how-to-make-keepster-folders > https://keepster.co/blog/how-to-edit-keepster-folders
