“Great product idea! Books came and are great quality. The program is simple to use, but difficult to navigate and there are lots of glitches. I’m really happy with my books overall. I do wish there was a label for the books alone however. I’ll have to make some of those in vinyl myself.”

“Every time I get close to finishing my project the app freezes up and then shuts down and I lose everything, leaving me to have to start all over again. But, what I’ve seen of it, is really cool. Great concept and idea.”

“Each image takes up a half a page? Roughly 5 text messages per page with no ability to make the images or text smaller? Limitations on how many texts can be in each book? Wasteful.”

Hi Brandon Thank you for your feedback regarding the design of Keepster books. Please bear in mind that with each chat thread being unique we have done our best to provide a design that would work well for almost everyone. Keepster books were designed by an award winning book designer with the goal of being substantial enough to look good on a coffee table or on a shelf, and are therefore sized to be neither too big nor too small - at 8.5 inches high by 5.5 inches wide. The images are sized in proportion to the page size, and be large enough that they can be easily seen. Regarding the number of texts per page, all will depend on the word count per message, so frequently there can be many more than 5 texts per page. In order to ensure the quality of the binding, books can include up to 800 pages - which for the most part offers the opportunity to include hundreds of texts, if not more. We hope you will appreciate that we have done whatever we can to thread the needle helping our customers create one-of-a-kind books, but at the same time understand that each customer's needs will be different. Should you decide to order a book, we are confidant that the quality and design will exceed your expectations, and that like most of our customers you'll be more than delighted with the result. As we are constantly on a mission to make Keepster books even better, if you have any suggestions about specific design changes please let us know as we will always be open and glad to consider them. “I love this idea and I am super excited to get my books! There are just a few things I would tweak: - I had to go through and delete duplicate messages that were created each time someone "loved" or "liked" a message. That was a pain. Even if I searched for these messages, Keepster would only show 40 of them at a time, so I had to search repeatedly to make sure I got them all. I would appreciate if there were an easier way to delete these messages, or if Keepster could find a way to simply put a heart or thumbs up on the messages that were loved/liked. - It would be really nice if there were a mobile app version that could take messages directly from your phone. My computer did not have very much space on it and I had to delete a TON of files before I had enough space to do the backup. Perhaps this could be avoided with a mobile app. - I would prefer if the emojis looked just like the regular old Apple style emojis. - It would be cool if the messages could actually look exactly like they do on a phone (in blue and gray bubbles) - Each time I removed messages, Keepster would take me back to the "View Messages" window (instead of the "Edit Messages" window). If I wanted to remove more messages, I would have to start all over and go back to "Edit Messages," reselect the dates that I wanted, etc. - Finally, I found that I had to quit and reopen the app in order for most changes to take effect. e.g., when I deleted a bunch of messages and then started a new project, the new project would still have all the deleted messages in it unless I quit the app and restarted it before beginning the project.”

Hi Jenna Thanks so much for your review and feedback! We take it all very much to heart and I'm glad to share that we immediately acted on your request to increase the number of messages that can be removed. A fix will be shortly launched enabling 400 messages, searched by any keyword, including 'tap back'/reactions, to be deleted all in one batch. All this to say, as a relatively young company, we actively listen to our customers to help Keepster constantly become even better! As much as we wish you could use Keepster on an iPhone, it is simply not possible as the app depends upon having a local backup of your messages. Or, stated differently, you cannot backup your phone messages to your phone! In addition, we believe there is tremendous value in having a local backup of your messages on your computer so at least if a phone gets lost, damaged or even becomes obsolete, your messages will always be safe and easily accessible. Regarding your design suggestions, it might be good to know that our books were designed by an award-winning team. But still, we will certainly put your suggestions to our community and let the votes be counted! Lastly, we are sorry you had to quit and re-open the app. We have not been able to replicate that issue - but it's always good to ping our Support Team in CHAT in real-time so we can troubleshoot whatever is happening. Again, thanks so much for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback. We truly hope that when your books arrive, they'll exceed your expectations and that they'll be a treasured keepsake for many years to come!

“After paying for the app, i thought i could transform the books/txts into pdfs for free, that was not the case. Still costumer service is passionate and personable and the product is very useful. Moving forward, once PDFs are allowed through app purchase im sure it will be a hit.”

Hello Hugo We are sorry about the confusion around our pricing. Please know that you are still within the 7 day FREE trial period and can still decide whether you wish to continue using Keepster's software, or not. Only if you choose to do so, will the $14.99 charge be processed. As of now, you have not been charged. Like most backup platforms there is a fee for using their software, and since many of our customers use Keepster solely for backing up their messages we are glad to offer that capability, and at a more affordable price. Regarding making books, unfortunately, it is simply not possible to print a quality book for free. (In fact, the cost of printing one-of-a-kind books is significantly higher than the cost of printing mass-produced books.) Again, we are sorry that it was not clear to you from our website that our books are priced according to the page count, and that for the first book order that's over $36.00 the cost of the software ($14.99) is deducted from the cost of the book. Regarding PDF's, at present, it is only possible to order those as an add-on to a printed book. However, in the near future we hope to make stand-alone PDF's available as well. Again, we apologize for any language that seemed unclear or confusing to you.

Hello Hugo We just wanted to confirm that you were not charged for the Keepster software as the test period of charging for the software has come to an end. In short, all users who were charged have since been credited, and using Keepster's software has reverted back to being FREE for all users. As a relatively young startup, we take all our customer's feedback and insights very much to heart, so as per your suggestion in the coming year we will be working hard to make stand-alone PDFs available. With much appreciation for your interest and support!

“I like the concept of the tool very much but I feel like there could be more variation and options implemented (like multiple conversations/chapters per book, and adding multiple “keepsters” to a single “project” or “book”).”

“It's a great concept but doesn't seem to download my photos with messages. I just backed up for the 2nd time and received an identical download to the first. No new message since 10/4 were downloaded.”

“I give the finished product 5 stars but the ease of use a 1 star. It is so difficult to use and some of the photos do not transfer over and there is no telling which ones cause an error and make it impossible to complete a project. I am going to attempt to order more but it is a hard task to complete.”

Vicki we are thrilled that you give your Keepster Book a 5-star review. We are always working to make Keepster easier to use and error-free. However, some images are challenging given the HEIC/HEIF format used by iPhones. We recently released an updated version to better handle those types of images. Hopefully when you use Keepster again to make more books you have a smoother experience and consider updating your review to 4 or 5 stars. PS: Check out our new fonts and formatting options for your new books.
