“I just ordered from Lands End for the first and last time. Paid $8.95 for shipping. One of the items I didn’t like and the second, I liked but it didn’t fit. I have to pay another $8.95 to return the item I didn’t like and then another $8.95 for shipping for the exchange item. Additionally, I won’t get credit for the “exchange” for 3 weeks - the sale could be over by then. I’m a big online shopper - making purchases at least once a week and often more. Even cheap, overseas locations have more customer-friendly practices. Writing this, I’ve decided I’ll just look for similar jeans elsewhere and not bother with the “exchange.” Done with LE, which is a shame because the quality appeared to be good.”
“I returned a men's jacket (a classic squall type - typically around $80) due to a broken zipper. I received the jacket as a gift so I did not have a receipt, but was told that I will get merchandise credit for the value of the jacket. The store employee wasn't sure of the value, so they sent it to the factory for a determination. Well today I got my merchandise credit: $5.00. So now you know, a Land's End jacket is worth less than a cup of coffee. If you decide to buy from Land's End, keep in mind that they do not stand behind their products.”
“I have been a Lands End customer for over 20 years.... All my dealings in the past have been pleasant. Here is my issue..... I ordered several different items around Christmas time (2024) and most of them were shipped via UPS. I only have a PO Box address. Several items were accepted and delivered by UPS to my PO Box address. On multiple occasions, items were sent by Lands End via UPS to me and the items came as close as 10 miles from me and then UPS posted a note on the "tracking" info that they don't accept addresses with a PO Box. They then sent the package back to Lands End. This caused a big delay in me ultimately receiving the items. Most all the items were gifts. If Lands End uses a shipping source that doesn't deliver to a PO Box, then it should be known upfront when the customer is ordering off their site. I've contacted Lands End Customer Support/Service and all I got was a lame excuse on the shipping when I asked why did some packages get delivered by UPS to my PO Box and some not.... but Lands End did finally resend my item via USPS - Priority which helped me ultimately get the item. Currently I am still waiting on an item I ordered on 12/18/24 - It was suppose to be a Christmas Gift..... Bah HumBug! I will seriously have to decide if I will use Lands End anymore. Their products are wonderful but the shipping is a totally different experience......”
“It wasn't a complete fail. I bought a holiday wreath. It came in an enormous box where the wreath was allowed to bang around inside of iot box. There was some minimal damage but the wrath was still useable. It was just stupid to not put packling around the wreath.”
“This company is unethical and predatory. I placed an order on a Sunday. By Wednesday, the order disappeared from my account, and I was never charged. So, I placed another order on a Thursday. At 6:00am on Friday, the order that disappeared reappeared, was charged, and overdrafted my account. I called to address the issue, they refused to assist in any way. I called a mere hour and a half after the recharge, as I was sleeping. Now I have Christmas gifts and medication for which to pay and no money until next Friday.”
“I ordered a pair of their Starfish straight leg pants on January 14, 2024. They "supposedly" shipped the pants on January 19th, however, no one seems to know where the package is and I still do not have the pants. Tracking keeps saying in process. NOT out for delivery. I emailed them and they took 2 days to respond and all they said was sorry for the inconvenience and that the pants shipped. Now why does it take 6 days to pull a pair of pants off their shelf, put them in an envelope and mail? While I really like their pants, I'm going to have to find a more reliable brand.”
“I found the entire experience dealing with Lands' End unfortunate. Their credit card offer was confusing at the least and misrepresented at worst. Be very cautious.
Customer service was unable to correct the credit card issue, claiming they did not have access to that information. Perhaps that is true; but as a consumer when an offer is being made through a retailer and that retailer is unable to provide service I am concerned.
Secondly, I was offered next-day shipping to offset the earlier grievance which I accepted. Today is the 4th day since the order was placed and the package has not arrived. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing anything from this company in the future.”
“I had my order shipped to another address since I was going to be out of town and didn’t want someone taking my shipment from my doorstep. The item did not fit and I had to return it. Was told I had to get merchandise credit since it wasn’t shipped to my address, could not get a refund to my original form of payment. also returning the item I had to pay the original shipping charge from Lands’ End to me and then also they charge me again to return the item to them. so my return value is less than 50% of what I originally paid. Will not purchase from them again.”
“Why are so many of the coats now fitted. No longer room to add layers. Please don’t suggest buying a larger size. Then the shoulders & sleeves no longer fit. I’m in the market for a new coat & have always purchased Lands End. Not this year. Not everyone is a fan of the “fitted” look.”
“Apparently Lands End could not manage to put the address I supplied on my package, so it is hung in limbo in the USPS. I will NEVER order from them again.”
“Customer service person was terse and just kept repeating the same ridiculous return policy. I just wanted to exchange an item, not pay $9 for the original shipping, then 6.95 to return and then $9 for shipping for the new size. I will never shop at Lands End again.”
“I placed an order on Thanksgiving that said it should be delivered within a few days. It still says “pending”. The customer service person I spoke with said she doesn’t see an order yet, so she can TRY to cancel it for a fee. I asked “why “? You took my money in 3 seconds, I should get it all back. Like I said it’s been over a week, and I don’t have it. But I ended up ordering it from Amazon and it’s coming in a few days. Meanwhile my money here is still tied up, and I’m helpless. What a waste. And bad business”
“I placed an order on November 2 and was just informed that it will not be shipped until at least December 14 - after the party the gifts were meant for. SO frustrating that a company this large cannot get orders out more quickly. I will most likely not order from them again due to this as customer service told me there was absolutely nothing they could do to help me get the items before the party.”
“I ordered my granddaughter's school uniforms in July. It is now November, and we still have not received them. This is the second year in a row that this has happened. Their customer service is non-existent. Avoid purchasing from them, if possible.”
“Ordered on May 1st, called on JULY 22nd to cancel my order cause I hadn’t gotten it. The customer service rep said she would “try”. Called again on AUGUST 15. The customer service hanged up on me. They got my money, refuse to cancel my order, but don’t deliver! WORST COMPANY EVER!”
“Deceptive promotional pricing--I attempted to purchase several items online and, as usual, there was a promotion code in effect. Actually, I was offered several levels of promotional codes. The problem was that when I chose an item, the discount was applied on the screen (e.g., this knit top is $19.23), but when I placed it in the checkout cart, the prices did not match. One or two were as shown on the purchasing screen, but others were either less discounted or full price. Thinking it was a software error, I contacted customer support, who explained that their new way of discounting is according to demand, and that I would be seeing that at a lot of businesses ("everyone else is doing it"). So if others like the same shirt, we'll all be paying more today(?!). That is not a new type of promotion but plain ole bait and switch, which is still illegal. Anyone not watching could pay much more than the "sale" indicated. Bait and switch--LE has lost another longtime customer.”
