About Le Chameau:

Le Chameau are the only rubber boots to be handmade by a single master bootmaker, each pair is unique. Using the highest quality materials and with a range of iconic and innovative styles, Le Chameau Maîtres Bottiers have been making our boots by hand for over 90 years. Every Le Chameau boot is constructed by one Maîtres Bottier. In order to become a Maîtres Bottier it takes 9 months of training before they are permitted to construct their first rubber boot.

“Good. I still have my very old Le Chameau rubber shoes, which are not produced anymore and the soles are a lot heavier than the current boots. I still don't quite understand why there are no exchanges allowed, only repurchases.”

Hi Judi, Thank you for leaving this review. I have taken a look at your order and can see you have purchased our Iris Boots. These are our lightest weight boots, they feature a single density sole which is designed especially to weigh less than others in the range. We are currently working on getting our exchanges back up and running, I can only apologise for the time being we have had to pause offering this service, I will pass on the feedback that this is something you wish to see re-instated soon. “I needed a warm, comfortable and waterproof shoe for Dog Sports. I had tried and failed several pairs of walking boots and found they fell short of what I needed. given the amount of hanging around iinvolved in IGP the cold can be a real enemy. Then I had the thought that a stalking boot is a "hanging around sort of boot" and decided to give it a go. I'm glad I did. They provide me with everything I need and that means I am a much more patient and, so more successful, dog handler. I bought a size up so I can layer up on the thermal socks and tights. These seem bombproof, but if they ever wear out, I will buy another pair. 5 * are two a penny on online reviews, which is a shame. Few things are really 5*, but among those that are, these boots belong.”

“An excellent purchase.My dog has bilateral osteoarthritis of the elbows as a result of dysplasia.He loves his bed.The generous cushioning has improved his discomfort and I think his mobility.The extra large size suits his 30kgs.The bed is extremely well made is easily washable and in my opinion well worth the money.I would thoroughly recommend this dog bed.”

“I wear a 6.5 in US size and ordered the 37. Feels a little loose but would rather they have a bit of room so I can wear thick socks when it’s cold. Great quality - sturdy and comfortable. I’m 5’1” and have short legs so I liked this boot length.”
