About Le Chameau:

Le Chameau are the only rubber boots to be handmade by a single master bootmaker, each pair is unique. Using the highest quality materials and with a range of iconic and innovative styles, Le Chameau Maîtres Bottiers have been making our boots by hand for over 90 years. Every Le Chameau boot is constructed by one Maîtres Bottier. In order to become a Maîtres Bottier it takes 9 months of training before they are permitted to construct their first rubber boot.

“Hello, Last year in April , 2023 I bought Vierzon Cuir boots. They were purchased not from Le Chameau directly but from third party store. Boots arrived, fit perfectly and looked great. Couple of weeks ago and after very light use, one side of the strap on one of the boots came unglued. I emailed Le Chameau and received a message that since I did not buy from them directly, there is NOTHING they can do. To sum it up, great looking boots however quality is not what they used to be. Company does NOT stand behind their products.”

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review - I can only apologise you have had issues with your boots and the strap on the side breaking. Due to the transactional tread of these boots being purchased at a retailer we are unable to issue a warranty claim directly but please do get in touch with the company from which you purchased the boots and we will be happy to begin a claim with them for this pair. “I bought the Iris Chelsea at Equine Divine as a last resort when my favorite old hiking boots gave up the ghost (well, soles actually) just before a hike in the woods. "Try them, you'll like them!" The saleswoman said. I whined and complained. "I like my old leather boots!" "Try them, you'll like them!" She repeated. I snivelled: "But they're rubber. And they're FRENCH!" "Try them, you'll like them!" She insisted. So I tried them: Thought I'd gone to heaven. Supportive without being stiff. Light but not flimsy. Toe box and heel counter? Ahhh! Just right! They took me on a three mile hike through Hitchcock Woods in comfort and security. So. I will take a nice helping of Crow, with Humble Pie for dessert. A La Mode!”

“Was given a pair of Iris boots for Christmas 2023 and am a size 8 shoe. The opening into the boot was so small I couldn't get my foot into them. My daughter, who wears a size 3, could get her foot in comfortably so left me no option but to return them. However, customer service was brilliant and offered a full refund even though out of the normal period.”

“I have had my leather lined Chasseurs for 23 years, 4 of which I was a Farm Manager and wore them virtually every day. They are still going (just!) although I think I may have finally sprung a leak around the ankle somewhere as prolonged immersion in water eventually makes the inner leather lining damp in that area. I can't recommend them enough. 23 years of abuse and still going!”
