“Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and the whole family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel and overall experience were very good, and aside from a few points that could be improved, we had very little to complain about. One issue was that we were required to pay an accommodation tax of €90 upon arrival. I was not aware of this charge before travelling, so it came as an unexpected expense. It would be helpful if guests were clearly informed about this additional cost before arrival. We also experienced some confusion with our EasyJet luggage allowance. We had to pay an additional £24 because one of our bags was overweight, and we had misunderstood the difference between cabin baggage and hold luggage, which resulted in a further charge of £120. This was a learning experience for us, and we will make sure we understand the luggage rules more clearly when booking future flights. One important point for families is that the children’s club appeared to be primarily for French-speaking children. The staff spoke French, and children who did not understand French were unable to participate. I believe this is important information that should be made clear to families before booking, particularly as many international guests may expect the children’s club to be accessible to children of different nationalities and languages. We were also approached by a man at the hotel who advertised transport and excursions. When I enquired about a boat trip for my family, I was quoted £540, with my 10-year-old being charged at the adult rate. We decided to contact the boat provider directly and booked what was actually a longer and better trip for just £110, with the children travelling free. The difference in price was extremely significant, and I would strongly advise other guests to compare prices and contact excursion providers directly before booking through third parties at the hotel. In my view, the pricing we were given was excessive and did not appear to be consistent. Finally, it would be very helpful if the hotel had an ATM or a facility for exchanging money. There was very little available nearby, which made accessing or changing cash inconvenient. Despite these points, we had a wonderful family holiday and made some fantastic memories. These were relatively small issues in comparison with the overall experience, and there was very little else we could complain about. We would still look back on the holiday very positively.”
