Not a good first experience with Maison du monde, the tv unit arrived faulty, the back panel is bent so the pieces don't fit together well with gaps. Both front doors were snapped with nails sticking out (not ideal when you have young children, or anyone for that matter!) The screws don't go in so stick out. There are stains on the top which looks like the wood has been bleached. Will now take me ages to dissemble and the original box was taken away by the courier so I can't even return easily, not to mention there will be nails sticking out which makes it dangerous. they are slow to respond and still haven't advised how i can pack this to return safely. Very disappointed and won't shop with them again. Update: Maison du monde are ignoring my emails about booking a return. They booked their courier TNT to turn up at my house randomly while I'm at work (my neighbour told me they spoke to them) without communicating with me a collection date or asking me when I'll be home! the worst customer service I have ever experienced! should have just got this furniture from Ikea, always have a good experience with Ikea and their quality is a thousand times better.

Ik heb hier een bank besteld. Werd geleverd met 2 kapotte kussens. Meteen gebeld; ik kon de bank houden en zou de stomerij/reparatiekosten retour krijgen. Anders moest ik weet 6-12 wkn wachten op een nieuwe bank. Daarna, ondanks 4 mails nooooit meer iets van ze gehoord. AFZETTERS!!!

Ordered a chair bed and was told it would arrive between 20 and 24 December. All through that window was given no further info re delivery. At lunchtime on 24th suddenly info appeared telling me tnt would be the delivery company. Couldn’t phone the Maisons du Monde info number from my phone as it was an 0800 one. A few expensive calls to tnt later, was told the parcel had been at my door on 19th.... (TNT’s fault no note through door) chased it all up myself and collected it myself from a depot. Main culprit- maison s du monde for not coordinating delivery. By the way the wide single chair sofa is rock hard though it does look nice.

I ordered a library bookcase (£3,700) and after FOUR delivery attempts (damaged, wrong product, cancellation from courier etc.,), I finally thought it was sorted...wrong. A back piece to a cupboard was missing which MDM say they can’t replace..I have called/emailed over 20 times and still they haven’t called me back 😡

I ordered a library bookcase (£3.5k) and after FOUR delivery attempts (wrong product or damaged), I finally thought I had it sorted...wrong! A back piece was missing which they said they can’t replace and now they won’t return my calls...please be very very careful ordering anything big from them.

We bought a £750 sofa bed from Maisons Du Monde just over two years ago. Within months of light use the sofa bed base had collapsed, in just over two years the whole sofa collapsed. As the sofa was just out of warranty when it finally completely broke, the company did not offer any assistance. The quality of furniture is inexcusably poor and the customer service is non-existent, I was told to go ahead and write negative reviews, they weren’t willing to offer any assistance. I’m writing this review so that hopefully others will avoid buying a sofa that lasts a pitiful two year period before heading off to landfill.

All I can tell you is keep away from this store. Ordered a couch, two months later and after endless futile attempts to contact them, they sent me an email telling me that they had the wrong telephone number. Of course no one thought to send me an email instead, right? Right... Absolute appaling service. Asking for a refund, still no response. They need to go out of business.

Absolutely appalling service - do not use! Ordered a chest of drawers which arrived with drawer knobs missing on delivery. Reported this via their email service 3 times and was completely ignored. They still took full payment for the item and after 3 phone calls in which they promised to send the missing pieces I was then told they couldn't send the drawer knobs but could offer a gift voucher - to use on their website! This all took over a month and was not resolved. Would not recommend this company at all.

Watch out - you cant return damaged items Terrible customer service. They deliver a damaged mirror and after three complaints still no reaction or money back. It has been 4 weeks now! Watch out before you shop here! My order delivery number: N° 68945285 - please contact me as soon as possible to schedule the return of the damaged mirror and return the money. Maybe a public review helps get this company motivated..... it is my last resort.

Had a greenhouse delivered that was damaged. Emailed to inform immediately, and received standard no reply acknowledgment suggesting further from them. Since then NOTHING! Now three weeks. Terrible! Will go into local store and cause a scene and contact credit card company and bank. Nothing but theft.

Fast delivery of tv unit but damaged. Second one arrived and the interior of the unit looks like it wasn’t painted. Bubbling on the areas that are painted. Very disappointed. Expensive for what it is. Will not use again.

Bij Maisons du monde zal ik nooit meer een bestelling plaatsen. Maisons du Monde heeft op 13 september een kapotte bank-koffer bij mij afgeleverd. Diezelfde dag heb ik een retourmelding gemaakt op hun site. Ik heb nooit een reactie hierop gekregen. Ik heb vervolgens nog 2 keer een retourmelding aangemaakt en via de mail foto's opgestuurd. Nooit een reactie gekregen. Afgelopen maandag heb ik voor de 4e en laatste keer gebeld naar de klantenservice. Telkens wordt beloofd dat TNT het product zal komen ophalen. Tot nu toe geen enkele reactie. Nooit meer!

The customer service is rude and unhelpful. To talk to a manger they said would be 2 weeks for a call back. I have never been treated so poorly after buying so much. Do not order from this company.

Hats off to the delivery drivers who found our address but not to maidens du mined for what they delivered. So fa bed looks good in theory but there is a gape between the seat and the frame of about an inch and the second night people slept on the bed it collapsed. Trolley arrived battered and bent. I was attracted by sustainability claims but they are just fluff - everything arrived swathed in plastic and worse polystyrene. I should have smelt a rat when I was informed that the detachable covers could not be duplicated. This is tat masquerading as sustainable quality. No reply yet from customer services to my complaints.

With Maisons du Monde I had one of the worst customer experiences when shopping online. I ordered a cabinet online that was delivered twice damaged. Worst of all, however, was the coordination between MDM and its delivery company (TNT). The 2 returns of the damaged products were full of misunderstandings and communication issues, which resulted in me having to stay at home for a total of 5 different days so they could pick up the damaged cabinets. Meanwhile, the huge product was lying (still packed) in my living room the whole time. I actively tried to clarify the situation between MDM and TNT, but none of them showed any interest in it and they just pushed the responsibility to each other. I'm still waiting for the refund and an apology (which I am certain will not come). Never again MDM.

You can't have your items shipped to the store, so you are required to pay 160 Euros in shipping... then got 3 contradictory email about when the items would be delivered... on top of this since we live closer to French store we ordered in France and paid the VAT in Switzerland - informed this is very easy and they take care of everything for you... which of course they don't, but kindly charged us 20 Euros "frais de dossier"... for doing NOTHING!!! what a joke! NEVER ordering anything or shopping at Maison du Monde EVER again.
