“Not the best for a matted cat coat”

“5 stars are for after sales service which was very good. My clippers broke after only 4 clips. Brand new the cogs shed and couldn’t even undo the screws to remove the head, sent off to Master clip and the Service was excellent. 3 Stars are for the clippers, disappointing, still get hot and broke after 4 clips, the good thing is the battery life is excellent.”

Thank you so much Elaine for your review. We are pleased to hear that you experienced fantastic after sales service. The cog only shears if the clippers are under some sort of pressure at the top end and so it is always best to loosen the tension slightly and keep them well lubricated including adding a drop of oil into the oiling points. It is a consumable part and designed to shear if the clipper detects a foreign body or some grit or debris in the coat which does sometimes does also happen. “Ordered a #5f and received a #7f which wouldn't fit on my A5 clippers. I emailed for help as I wouldn't have minded this mistake had the blade worked but received none. I have had functional blades from masterclip before though”

It is disappointing to hear that you received the wrong blade and that the blade you did receive didn't fit your clippers. I can see that a replacement blade has been posted so we must have made contact. I will get in touch with you directly so that we can resolve the issue.

“The bull nose safety scissors and slicker brush work perfectly for rabbits but the clippers are not suitable for rabbits.”

I am pleased to hear that the scissors and slicker brush work well on your rabbit but sorry that the clippers aren't suitable. They do cut a lot of rabbit coats extremely well but unfortunately there are always some coats that just aren't suited to the clippers. “Unfortunately this is the second time I’ve replaced the ply adapter for the Royale clippers. I like the clippers and Masterclip have provided good service but the plug adapter shouldn’t need replacing.”

“They're pretty noisy. I didn't expect them to be so loud. The blades clatter. Made my dog quite nervy. I've got a set of cordless trimmers & thought the clippers would be almost as quiet as them. Sthe high speed also isn't as fast as I'd expected.”

I am sorry to read that the dog did not enjoy being clipped with your new dog clippers. I am wondering if you had got the blades seated correctly on the clipper as they should not be clattering. Clippers will always sound louder than trimmers as the motor is bigger in the clippers. If you are not happy with them we will happily have them back for a refund or a warranty inspection. “Packaging seems good, delivery prompt and build quality seems very good. These were ex demo, they just seem very noisy. I’ve only tested them, applied some oil to the cutting surfaces still very loud compared to my cheap corded version for £25. Time will tell. Hopefully master clip will get in touch.”

“I ordered a Narrow Super Fine Mane & Tail Rake. This was delivered quickly and I was eager to use it, however, I was very disappointed with it. I wanted to tidy my horse’s tail with it, as my previous one had gone blunt. However, this took practically no hair off and my old blunt one did a far better job. Not very happy. My previous one was a ‘Mars’.”

“I have had excellent experiences with Masterclip in the past. Wonderful dog clippers and great resharpening service for the blades. I bought a pair of curved scissors to help keeping our Cocker Spaniels feet hair in check. Great blades and the same wonderful service but the thumb hole on the handle is ridiculously small. Not suitable for even my hand which is far from large.”

“Product good, and customer services answering the phone at 5.30 pm on a Friday night is really excellent. However courier experience spoils the whole experience. Products were ordered on a Wednesday evening for a Friday delivery which met the timeline for the Shearers who were lined up for an 8 am start on Saturday. No courier delivery on Friday despite confirmation that product would be delivered between 5.30-6.30 pm. Purchased equally good product from Lister at local agricultural supplier first thing Saturday, and by the time the products were delivered on the Saturday we had finished shearing and the team gone home.”

“For expensive items like professional animal clippers, it seems odd that when YOUR clippers fail, your customers have to arrange and pay both ways of shipping. The website is a bit vague as well. Good clippers though. Update - the nice lady at Masterclip has made an excellent gesture of goodwill and refunded half of my transit costs. Nothing is free in this life, but such gestures are always welcome. Thanks Masterclip!”
