“The best review I can give is “hit and miss”. Hit for the quality and delivery. Miss for the consistency. Items frequently go out of stock for long periods of time; and the size chicken breast can vary.”

“The prices are good if you can get the deals, but I have had issues with the dates. The meat doesn't last until the used by date. I have had to throw a few steaks away 2 days before the use by date. The cold boxes they use are good and keep things cold enough. The second box I received today wasn't great as the one of the vacuum packs had popped and blood went everywhere. I couldn't use the meat either as it stank, not sure how long the bag had been broken.”

“I have ordered a few times from MuscleFood and think the chicken and mince is great quality and good value. However, the steaks received in my most recent order were tiny. Would need AT LEAST 2 per person which makes my latest “deal” not such good value which is a shame.”

“Most of the meat was OK but the steak was like rubber tbh but other then that all ok the Cumberland were nice but I think that they could have been fatter but still nice”

“Delivery was on time but arrived in a plastic bag , my previous order arrived boxed. The ice packs were melted so lots of water in bag also and the order was left on door step not in porch. I've found dpd to be not very caring just lately when deliving items. As always the meat I ordered is good quality so no complaints there . I've only given 3 stars due to delivery and it being in just a bag and the fact courier DPD just dumped outside my porch in the sun.”

“The quality and value of the food available is great however out of 3 orders I have placed only one has arrived on the arranged day. Twice the delivery has not arrived and I have been told that there was an issue with the delivery and could no longer be delivered. Each time muscle food have offered me either a refund or to arrange another delivery but it has left me feeling that they are unreliable. As this has happened twice I would have expected at least a gesture of goodwill such as a discount on my next order but nothing.”

“The food is always fresh and has great dates ! They offer a variety of meats and sometimes have different cuts of steak in which are lovely to try ! It's always delivered intacked! Had one bad experience where I ordered £100 hamper selected by myself .. uraguying steaks where missing , burgers where missing , hache steaks where missing, pack of 4 burgers where missing ... but in their place where fish pie mix , chicken mince and some type of sausage ! 3 of these things I had never ordered ... if the missing meats where replaced with stuff I ate and of same value there would not have been an issue! However I now had to go to the shop for additional dinners as my order then was 80% sausages as the stuff I don't eat had to be binned ! They did offer a £10 voucher which I will use , however if this happens again with such a large order then there's no point in getting this as it's used for convenience and reliability”

“I was a little unsure about getting fresh meat delivered and I'm still not entirely sure if I'd do it again after my first order. The process requires you to select a day when you're available to receive it which I did however it never arrived with no update or heads up from DPD. The app then says it'll be sorted in 24hrs and wasn't and when I chased for an update from MuscleFoods it turned out the package had been damaged in transit and was never coming but no one had bothered to update me or the system. I managed to get a new delivery date for 5 days later (earliest available) and I left really clear instructions as to where the package should be left and subsequently found it dumped in a communal area rather than the safe place requested. This is particularly frustrating when you've had to pay for delivery. However, despite this the meat was good quality and good value but the question is whether it's worth the hassle in trying to actually receive it, especially if you've gone to the effort of planning your meals based on what you think will be arriving. Customer service was pleasant and tried to sort the issue as quickly as they could but offered nothing to recompense the hassle and waiting around, even simply refunding the delivery cost would have been nice.”

“Meals are OK but feel they are tiny to allow room for all the snacks. I'd rather have less snacks and bigger meals as wouldn't need the snacks then. Bit expensive without discount so again the option for less snacks would be helpful.”

“I was disappointed as it all started so well, i got the food i liked and wanted to order, but on only the second order muscle food couldnt fulfill my chocies as over half the chocices i wished to place were out of stock. I have since cancelled my subscription as whats the point if you cant order what you want to eat.”

“After seeing plenty of MuscleFood reviews online, they then had a superb offer on Fulfil Protein bars, which I decided to avail of, before trying to order fresh food from them. Unfortunately the delivery date for that order was changed three times, to arrive 6 days after the original scheduled date. I appreciate they may have been overwhelmed with that particular order, as it really was super value, but alas, it would deter me from ordering fresh meat and risk being left waiting for it to arrive for a few days. Could end up having to go to the shop for dinner. I hope it works out, and I’d probably order non-perishable foods from them again, but not fresh meat or poultry.”

“Awful steak, not fit for consumption. I complained, not even had a reply. Will not use again. Oh, and the carrier just dumped it on the doorstep. Didn't even ring the bell!”
