Awful experience. Company lied about liquid damage to iPad, reduced a £300 quote to £20, have had it checked and there is NO TRACE of liquid damage. Have since sold it through CEX, I would recommend avoiding Music Magpie at all Costs.

Really , really simple way of turning quality unused tech into cash. 100% efficient. It could be simpler.

Just had a revised offer for my mobile phone, apparently due to a lifted screen. On the pictures taken immediately before sending the phone, in bubble wrap, in original solid box and then more bubble wrap, the phone was in perfect condition. I declined offer and judging by others experience I will receive a damaged phone back. I am now writing to trading standards

I bought an iPhone 6S refurbished in 'very good' condition. It turned up quickly and looked in great condition. Within 14 months however the battery was almost dead. I wanted to pay Apple to put a new battery in but they were worried about removing the cheap non-Apple battery they found inside. I told Music Magpie what had happened but they refused to help, saying they don't claim to use genuine Apple parts. I'd expect any battery to last more than 14 months however. So I'm left with a useless expensive mistake and will never buy anything from Music Magpie again.

Terrible experience with Music Magpie. I ordered a new phone before going away and purchased next day delivery so it arrived on time. The phone did not arrive the next day, it arrived 3 days later (while I was away). During this time I attempted to contact customer services across multiple platforms, each time I was advised via an automated response to ring the customer service desk with a number provided. This number was out of date and a message indicated that the customer service number has been shutdown. I finally received a reply through Facebook where customer service provided no assistance insisting that it was not their fault.

Bought an iPhone xs max in "pristine" condition but when it arrived it had a chip in the screen. I was told that a replacement would take 8 days so I agreed to return the phone and place a new order to speed things up. When I received the new order it was in worse condition that the original phone, it had up-to 20 scratches on the screen. This again was meant to be "pristine" and have no signs of cosmetic wear. I tried to complain to their support team but was just told I would have to send it back... again 8 day turn around. So I now have no phone and £1500 out of my bank account as the refunds will take 8 days to be processed. Either I was very unlucky or music magpie are selling "good condition" phones as pristine. Would not recommend this company.

Sent nearly perfect condition phone into music magpie. Apparently my waterproof phone has water damage even though its never been in water. Offered £110. Now offering £8. Obviously I rejected the offer. Do not recommend. Waste of my time. Obviously a scam

Sent my perfect condition S8 + always been in a case had an email stating that it had damage to the casing which is lies Thier price then went from £172 down to £37 what a complete joke. Just had email sent to me with a picture. Of the damaged part. Very fresh scratches in the side of the phone near the power button. I have pictures of my phone which clearly shows no damage there. This can only have been done out of spite I will take this to the small claims court as my pictures and yours are clearly different

Hi all, I would like to share one of my worst experiences with a company from this sector. On 23th of Sept I decided to sell may old phone due to upgrade. Item arrived on 25th of Sept and on 26th I received an email saying my item didn't arrived, when I tracked the parcel I realized this was delivered on 25th of September, i contact them and they said was a mistake, I tried again to contact regarding payment they as an answer after few hours I received another email saying the phone has display damaged which is totally untrue because it was %200 in good working condition and fully working. I had previously did some smaller thru them I don't have any reason to try to fool them. Now when my item will arrive if is damaged as they are saying I will complain to Ombudsman because this is unacceptable and us as customers always we are not covered for such a situations. Please avoid this

Really bad experience. I returned my iPhone within the 14 days but the phone was stuck with Royal Mail. I emailed and even advised what was happening and they told me not to worry. They then sent me a lower offer because my item was late. The irony! Following that I tried to call them from a number on their email and they’ve stopped the number. I declined the offer as I couldn’t reach them but online found a complaints email address who have said they can’t do anything once you’ve declined the offer. I’ve lost £60 on the phone by not going with somebody else simply because Music Magpie are dishonest. Absolutely nothing wrong with the phone. It’s pristine!

Scam artists beware. Take pictures of every part of your phone. I did and they still claim the phone is damaged even sent me a pic of it. But I have pictures before I sent it showing no damage at all. They give you a generic reply so next step small claims for damaging my phone

I sent my mobile phone which was without any damage to the screen, wrapped securely in thick bubble wrap and a strong cardboard box. They then contacted me to say that the initial offer was being revised to £12 (iphone6) due to damage. The only logical explanation was that the damage happened in their environment.

Sent phone in perfect working order. I had been using it on the day I sent it. Sent Double wrapped in padded envelopes . When I checked my account it said not received as stated so they couldn’t honour the original offer of £445 and made a revised offer of £130 for a perfectly working iPhone X . which they said was faulty. Disgraceful service.

Offered £130 for iPad and sent it in good working order and very securely packaged. Received email saying it was faulty and therefore they couldn’t pay or return. I asked on two occasions what the fault was and also insisted they return it. Never received a reply but it was sent back to me with the corner chipped off and the screen cracked. This is the kind of damage that would occur if it was dropped on a hard surface, not in a secure box with a load of bubble wrap around it. No wonder they don’t allow you to contact them by telephone! Don’t touch this company.

I paid for next day delivery and they sent me the wrong phone, I contacted them and it was in the return post within an hour. They said they never received it until I proved they had it via Royal Mail tracking. They have refused to refund my money still saying its not there. No phone numbers and they pick and choose whether to reply on chat depending on the issue. They lied and it was proven they lied. They still have my phone and my money.

Rubbish, scanning doesn't and fails to recognise 8/10 barcodes when entered manually.

Use anyone but this company. Absolute con artists. Customer service is abysmal. No telephone support, they've completely removed this. Order number 5558374 My Galaxy Tab S4 tablet in mint condition went missing, they'd offered me £302.75 for it. It states in their terms that if an item goes missing it's fully insured for the original amount they offered you. 17 days later it suddenly turns up, they email me to say they have it, then 20 minutes later email me again to say due to it being outside 14 days they've revised the offer down to £220. That's right, THEIR courier loses the parcel for 12 days, then when it finally does turn up, they want ME to accept £80 less than their original offer. Their customer service is like smashing your head against a brick wall, you can only deal with them via email or online chat, they take between 3 and 5 minutes to reply each and every time you type something to them, they don't give you any idea what they're doing, they don't ask you to wait a moment whilst they check the details, nothing, it just goes completely silent. If you do complain on here, don't expect any kind of response other than them telling you the same awful customer service team will be in touch, all they'll do is keep you waiting whilst they cut and paste sections from their terms and conditions. Seriously, just use ebay or facebook marketplace, you'll get more and you won't have to deal with MusicMagpie and their awful staff.
