Came home to find a Hermes card through my door with nothing on it (eg. alternative time, contact number) but a number 80 - have no idea what it means! Phoned their so-called helpline, for a recorded message telling me to look at their FAQs or use 'live chat'. I opted for live chat, to find I was 232 in the queue!! This company is a joke, I'd never use it myself and wonder if I'll ever see the parcel I'm waiting for. With the post office, either they leave a parcel with my neighbour or I can easily pick it up from the sorting office the next day. Why use this joke of company?

I ordered a parcel for next day delivery. Received an automated text that they would arrive between 2 and 4PM. I was home. Got notified that they attempted delivery and it was a failed attempt and they would try again in 24 hours. I was not going to be home the following day which was why I had ordered next day delivery. Called retailer. They told me the reason was "restricted access" which was not the case, especially as other couriers were delivering parcels to me that day as well. I let the retailer know what had happened and that I wouldn't be home the next day or the following for that matter. Retailer emailed Hermes to try to figure something out and schedule a different day. The next day, I got another auto-message from Hermes saying they would arrive between 2-4PM. Obviously I could not reply to these messages as they are just automated. I called retailer again. Retailer sent them another message. Repeat the following day with the third and final attempt. I came home to find a "we missed you" type of postcard from Hermes stuck in the door to my building with nothing written on it whatsoever. I assumed it was for me but it was literally blank - just the unfilled form on the postcard. I called retailer again today. Turns out Hermes can take up to 48 hours to read their messages and also that there is no way for the retailer to reach them by phone. I've gotten a refund on my item because there is no point in re-ordering as the company only uses Hermes for my area and I have no idea if they'll tell me they had "restricted access" when I'm home waiting for them again. This was hands down the most frustrating experience I've had with a courier. Mind you I just moved to this location and have had so many parcels being delivered without issue. I will never be using Hermes again.

3 attempts over 3 days to deliver my parcel, their website says no-one was in, I guess purposely waiting for them to arrive doesn't count, utter lies, how on earth can they get away with this!?

Hopeless - they picked up a parcel from me and after 2 weeks it was still 'in transit' with a status of sorted at their national hub ... after waiting for over 10 mins to get through to someone they said oh well it we must have lost it - the only compensation will be the cost of the postage (hardly compensation as they didn't deliver it as contracted) and the cost of the item which I'd had to insure to cover their incompetence ... so basically they get away with just shrugging their shoulders. It's about time they were prosecuted under consumer law for failing to provide a service with reasonable care and skill.

This company is a disaster. This this is the second time I used them and will never do again. They call themselves courier. It seems to be a joke. First time they collected a small package and it supposed to delivered next day. The package was collected but delivered in 5 days! It cost me £4, but Royal Mail would do next day delivery for £6. And I am very sure they would deliver the next day. I thought to give them a second chance. This time they supposed to collect an item last Thursday. I was away and just come back in one week time to see that my nicely prepared packed still stays by the door and waiting for the 'courier'. I've checked online trucking and seen a message telling me that they are finally coming tomorrow on Friday. This is 1 week and 1 day to only collect the package!!!

Tell on the tracking they have tried to deliver when they have not been any where near the job - thats plain dishonest - next day exactly the same thing - they just have no shame. Only send items to arrive through them any thing that has some degree of criticality for delivery time place else where. Most of the items i have had through Hermes have come with no issue - Why say that you have attended for a delivery when it is not true? I asked the customer service that very question and they fudged it - your item will be delivered tomorrow. UGH

Would have given zero score but sadly have to select one! Absolute rubbish company. They give a time for delivery and don't turn up but when you track the item say they have tried to deliver - utter lies!!! Use a reputable courier and avoid this company at all costs.

Is this the most useless delivery company in Britain? I have had a number of issues with parcels delivered late from Amazon through their Prime service. All were through Hermes. Parcels delivered by Royal Mail, DPD, UPS, etc. never seem to be an issue. My wife arranged for a parcel to be collected last week. It didn't happen and the driver stated he had attempted to collect which was a lie as we were in all day, no 'could not collect' leaflet was left and I doubt the driver's GPS will show he was anywhere near us. This week I used the service to send a parcel. It was supposed to be picked up yesterday. It is still sitting there this morning. I had a pointless 'web chat' with one of their representatives who could not contact anyone locally to determine whether the parcel will be picked up today. The best he could suggest is I take it to a drop off point - are they capable of offering a service or not? I am disgusted with the quality of service provided. Looking at this page I see I am not alone.

I ordered an item for next day delivery, it never arrived. At the end of the second day, the tracking code said it had been delivered to me, while I was sat in waiting for it. Hermes are not a legitimate business.

Return to Amazon using Hermes. Disgusting service. Lies online when you enter tracking info. No response when contacted via Twitter. Now have Amazon trying to access their website which doesn’t appear to be working. In the meantime, I am still waiting for my £68 credit, which is totally the fault of Hermes.

Awful, awful service. Parcel never got collected, customer services never responded and eventually got a refund after a stupid boring row. Hermes would be good value if the service actually worked but it doesn't and therefore is a total waste of time and money. I wasted 10 days trying to sort my non-collected parcel out and wound up booking with a more expensive service (DHL) anyway.

Highly unreccomend. I paid for postage for my item to be delivered and Hermes did not bother to attempt to try to deliver it on the day they said, and this is not the first time..

If you want your parcel never to arrive, use Hermes! I ordered a laptop through eBay and the seller used Hermes. I've not received it. Luckily for me the seller is dealing with it and will issue a refund. I ordered it 10 days ago. READ THIS: I randomly saw a young guy in tracksuit and cap pull up in an an old Corsa CRAMMED full of parcels (you couldn't see out the back window). He went next door to deliver, I asked him if he was Hermes. Yes he was - these guys use young self-employed drivers using their own crappy cars. Probably skint and overworked. I told him my story, he shook his head and said "never use Hermes for phones or laptops, some driver will have it now and you'll not be getting it". So there you go, from the horses mouth.
