The course I write about is the Pot Law class Aug 14. The course could have been offered in a condensed 4 hour period; I believe too much time was spent on the obvious topics. Valuable information was obtained from the speakers. I appreciate the information provided with the course as it is useful for reference.

I had no idea I was required to collect "codes" during a CLE for KS. When I called NBI for help after the seminar they were initially less than helpful and made it essentially my fault I didn't have the codes. I joined the seminar after the first hour. I didn't need all hours this year. Apparently the instructions to collect codes was given at the start of the seminar. I suggest NBI put instructions either on the solicitation for the seminar or at least on the confirmation email once a seminar is purchased that codes need to be collected during the seminar and instructions for doing so. Those of us who do not need to listen to the entire seminar have no way of knowing what to listen for or what to copy down it seems. Finally Kirsten at NBI helped me and took care of what I needed, I think, to get the credit earned.

It took almost 5 months and no one in the customer service department ever gave me the same answer on the status. After calling multiple times in June, they would tell me I wasn't accepted and finally someone in July told me to call the state. Turns out I was accepted at the beginning of June and not one of the customer service people caught it. Overall I got my stamp and all the materials. I would most likely recommended another company for anyone else in the future, if Customer Service is a priority.

I recently attended two NBI programs, via video webcast, and, in sum, the programs were, from what I could actually hear, well done. The problem was that both programs were plagued by significant audio problems and I will need some assurance that such problems are successfully addressed before I would buy additional webcast training from NBI.

Some have been positive. Sometimes the speaker signs on and prepared to discuss a completely different topic. There are way too many emails it makes me think about unsubscribing.

2 of the speakers were good. The 3rd did not follow the material that was in the handout. She also kept getting interrupted by things in her office.

Good practical information for attorneys helping clients do some Medicaid planning. However, the audio quality was extremely poor making parts of the presentation worthless.

The audio/visual did not seem to be in sync, so it was difficult to follow.

When I signed up earlier this year, this was for the availability of not only the national courses, but especially for the local, state-specific courses. I realize that the in-person seminars have been cancelled due to Covid-19, but NBI should host those online. It's not that difficult. Most every other entity is figuring it out and did so quickly. Moreover, when this first happened, NBI was incredibly slow to pivot to hold video webcasts live and the first two I signed up for were obviously recorded previously and not live. Finally, the (finally) live webcasts are poorly produced. Sound issues occur in each Q&A session. The presenters have not been guided on how to present via webcams. Many never look at the camera or we spend an hour looking up their nose because they have not been guided on something as simple as "raise your monitor to face level." The loss of the in-person two-day live probate seminar plus the subpar production mean I do not feel I've gotten what I originally agreed to pay for. I have not gotten any communication from NBI about that other than that in-person events are cancelled. This is disappointing and leaves me with less faith in NBI being able to fulfill its offerings in the future.

Thank you for this feedback, we’re truly sorry this has been your experience. As you can imagine, the pandemic has forced us to determine how to transition over 600 programs across 50 states to an online format in very short notice. When the speakers are all able, we have managed to transition a number of our courses to a webinar format, but it sounds like this unfortunately has not been the case for courses you have signed up for. We are continuing to do this as the situation is ever evolving and can assure you we are working hard to get more state-specific online content out there. If you would like to give us a call at (800) 930-6182 we would love to provide you with options for your location and improve your experience with NBI.

The availability and range of topics is good. The generic nature, without local application and often without specific examples, while perhaps understandable, makes the presentations less helpful.

You need to do something about the video webinars. I've attended a couple of them now and both times I've somehow missed the verification codes during the webcast, which are needed then to get credit for it. I have sat there through the entire webcast both times, yet didn't hear or see the first couple verification codes. There must be a better way to communicate those to the customer because I'm not getting credit even though I'm sitting through the seminar just like we would a live in -person seminar.

In the topic areas I've been choosing, the lectures are much too long. You should have shorter lectures. I've had to sit through 3 hours of lecture just to get to the topic areas that interest me. Also, I'm tired of hearing about "no dabbling" in estate planning. I'm not trying to dabble, I'm trying to make it my primary practice. I want to learn, which is why I'm taking these courses. Why can't lecturers seem to understand this? Every single one of the courses I've taken so far has lecturers who are critical of beginners. It's very insulting. Just identify pitfalls rather than slam others.

I don't like that the hours are 10-5 for an all day course. I work 7-4 and don't enjoy staying late at work or staying late at the class and then hitting traffic. I would bet that most people would prefer an earlier start. Also, why only 5.5 credits for a 7 hour course? Why so much wasted time? In PA, PBI generally gives 6 hours per all day class which fits with PA's requirement of 12 credits per year.. 5.5 is awkward and two classes are insufficient for us to meet our requirement.

Way to caught up on watching the attorneys time in and out of the seminar. We all have calls to make and need bathroom breaks. I have attended some seminars where the attorneys stopped lecturing a half hour ahead of time and that caused us to be short a half hour so we needed to attend another seminar.

Not sure how to submit a review for a seminar you cancelled. The fact that I received a computer generated review for a seminar which didn't occur indicates that somebody is asleep at the switch.

The venue was acceptable but you should train your table monitors to recognize the following issues: 1. several attendees reported the stifling heat in the room followed by cold 2. The middle speaker was as bad as it gets. Even with a boring subject a good speaker is usually able to bring some life and humor 3. The room next door was used for a luncheon during part of our seminar and it was very loud and disruptive. There were other same sized rooms that could have been used to avoid this disruption. Otherwise it was ok.
