Wines good delivery too slow … it was for Mother’s Day - not two days after

Hi Bairbre, Thank you for your order and feedback. I can see that you ordered at 6.46pm on Friday 08/03/2024 and that this was delivered two working days later on 12/03/2023. All orders are dispatched in the sequence in which they are placed. Please note that the majority of our orders are currently taking 2-3 working days to complete. Our warehouse and office are closed on weekends and national holidays which is why your order arrived on the 2nd working day after it was placed. Kind regards, O'Briens Team

I have been a customer of yours for a number of years and have enjoyed many of your wine offerings. Customer service has been great at times and dissapointing at others.

Hi Paul, Thank you for your email. I am sorry to hear that you are disappointed in the customer service that you receive some of the time. I can see that you recently contacted our customer service team to request for some canvas carrier bags to be included in your order. I note that the team explained that we don't hold these in our warehouse as they are to assist store customers in carrying their shopping home. Whereas, all online orders are packed in damage-friendly packaging. Although we don't hold them in the warehouse our staff offered to put some aside and hold them for you in your local store which you declined. I am sorry that this solution wasn't suitable and if you do still want the bags when you are next dropping by a store we would be happy to keep some for you. Shop in O’Briens a lot but have diversified in recent times. Generally I feel wines are priced realistically at sale time but not otherwise. Too many mediocre wines at €20ish or more. Also selection of French wines is limited - there are much better wines from South Burgundy for example than the ones you have persisted with. With global warming maybe try some of the less famous cote d’ors (eg the Haut Cotes or St Aubin). On the Spanish side far too much Rioja and the only R del D are overpriced and of poor quality. There’s loads more variety in Spain when you go there . Portuguese selection probably the strongest - very good and good value. I don’t drink new world wines - too sweet. Lastly it’s a pity that you don’t have any German red - can be excellent and reasonably priced.

The sur ge is splendid 👌 it really has changed the outlook on guinnes in this family and for our latter friends the pour was nailed on the head though the domage was lacking in all areas and very much disappointed my father ended up drinking some bud light and corona , my thought on it was lacking and bitter therfore I have announced to the media yhat I will be stepping away from buying from o brain's wines and will start buying from mich d o fairly wines as he has more splendid options kind regies Katie Lloyd the 7th

Hi There, Thank you for your feedback. I can see that you included the note: "Merry Christmas Folks !" I am so sorry to see that your gift message was not included in your order. At times the notes can move around in transit/ slip down the side of the inserts. I can understand the importance of a gift message in an order especially for an occasion. I have flagged this with our warehouse so that they are vigilant about including the notes and to ensure they are in the top of the box where the recipient can easily access it. Ordered a bottle of whiskey for a christmas gift, it came upside down in the box and the box was ripped. Poor show for such an expensive bottle (€90 or so)

I phoned over not receiving e mail confirmation of order.... To say it was hard to get through is an understatement... Phone kept cutting off... Not my end... When finally got thru and explained..... I was to get call back... Did not.... Got e mail.... Would have preferred call as promised....

I was disappointed that there was nothing in the boxes bar wine, no thank you card, not even a packing list for €1,000 worth of wine! Incidentally, and unrelated to the above, the guy in your Douglas store last Tuesday morning needs to learn something about customer service, he was very rude to me!

Hi There, I am so sorry that your order was left outside rather than delivered directly to you. All of our orders require and over 18s signature and there is a label on the box stating this and stating that the contents are fragile. For a number of reasons we expect orders to be handed directly over to the recipient and we expect a much higher standard for our customers. The wines are nice but there doesn’t seem to be any interest in customer retention. I buy almost 100 bottles and there is nothing thrown in. Will go elsewhere next year I think as this has been going on for years. Support small local shops I think

The wine was fine but your delivery was appalling. At the first attempt the driver gave us short notice and then said he couldn’t get entry. This was untrue as we have a CCTV which showed he never called. The second time the wine was delivered but the box was torn asunder. You have a problem with your delivery people. I bought the 3 month craft beer club subscription for my husband but was disappointed am sorry to say.. the beers were very unusual flavours & did not enjoy many of them.

Very happy with O’Briens, but DPD is a very poor delivery service Imans I would encourage you to find another delivery option. They are unpredictable and unreliable.

I’m never overly impressed and I have tried many varieties! The New Zealand Marlboroughs are no different at all to the offers in the supermarkets??? I feel I’m not getting great value for my money as I always order at least a dozen bottles?
