While the order was complete the packaging was unacceptable. One carton had about 9 bottles that were loose in the carton. In general the packaging is very secure, however its disposal is an issue. Perhpas O'Brien's could counsider accepting packaging back for reuse or recycling

It is one thing that we aim to pride ourselves on is safe and secure packaging for our customers. Unfortunately, we do not have a process for recovering the packaging at this time. We apologise for its bulky nature but as a company, we have committed to reducing our footprint with our packaging and so do not use single-use plastic in our shipping. Please note that the outer box is fully recyclable and the inner 'egg carton' packaging is fully compostable. Two parcels but separate delivery dates was not ideal Seems a bit odd as they were collected together.

The champagne was fantastic. The courier service DPD was dreadful, they took a week to deliver and an excuse every day for not delivering. Never again.

I got an email to say that my order was damaged in transit (or in storage). I requested that I be reimbursed through my bank. I hope this will be done.

Ordered easily online , free delivery which was nice , bottles were all packaged safely and securely but the lambay bottles were very dusty and dirty and the bushmills came without box which I wasn’t pleased with.

Hi, last week my sone bought me 4 bottles of good wine and a gift card for €75.00 from O'brien in Waterford, to celebrate my 75th birthday. He thought I would like the Marqués de la Concordia Reserva 6 Bottle Case? That you had on offer at yhe time and the €75.00 would have covered the cost. I went to your Web page selected the case of wine and 2 other bottles to bring me just over the 100 euro to avail of the free postage. I tried for twenty minutes to get the 75 euro on the gift card recognised. So understandably no happy. If I am buying wine my first call is to O'brien at Ardkeen because they ate very good , helpfull and professional, and will be there again. The problem was that the gift card was not accepted by your payment system. Jim dunnejg@gmail.com

Hi There, Thank you for your feedback. I have checked with the warehouse and we have just had a changeover in vintage from the supplier from 2019 to 2020. The web team are now updating this on the site to reflect the same. Please allow me to apologise for any inconvenience caused. As we don't have the 2019 in stock, I cannot swap it for you. However, I am happy to book a collection and refund or a collection and reship of alternative bottles if you would not like to keep the 2020 vintage. The delivery date was changed from Friday to Monday as the recipient wasn’t going to be at home. The package was delivered on Saturday and left on the doorstep - not ideal as it could easily have been stolen.

Hi - 3 bottle's of wine had damaged stelvin caps and were leaking which was frustrating. The boxes they arrived were not damaged so it must’ve occurred during packing. Never had a problem before.

Hi Bairbre, Thank you for your order and feedback. I can see that you ordered at 6.46pm on Friday 08/03/2024 and that this was delivered two working days later on 12/03/2023. All orders are dispatched in the sequence in which they are placed. Please note that the majority of our orders are currently taking 2-3 working days to complete. Our warehouse and office are closed on weekends and national holidays which is why your order arrived on the 2nd working day after it was placed. Kind regards, O'Briens Team

Hi Paul, Thank you for your email. I am sorry to hear that you are disappointed in the customer service that you receive some of the time. I can see that you recently contacted our customer service team to request for some canvas carrier bags to be included in your order. I note that the team explained that we don't hold these in our warehouse as they are to assist store customers in carrying their shopping home. Whereas, all online orders are packed in damage-friendly packaging. Although we don't hold them in the warehouse our staff offered to put some aside and hold them for you in your local store which you declined. I am sorry that this solution wasn't suitable and if you do still want the bags when you are next dropping by a store we would be happy to keep some for you. Shop in O’Briens a lot but have diversified in recent times. Generally I feel wines are priced realistically at sale time but not otherwise. Too many mediocre wines at €20ish or more. Also selection of French wines is limited - there are much better wines from South Burgundy for example than the ones you have persisted with. With global warming maybe try some of the less famous cote d’ors (eg the Haut Cotes or St Aubin). On the Spanish side far too much Rioja and the only R del D are overpriced and of poor quality. There’s loads more variety in Spain when you go there . Portuguese selection probably the strongest - very good and good value. I don’t drink new world wines - too sweet. Lastly it’s a pity that you don’t have any German red - can be excellent and reasonably priced.
