“I called because my direct debit was about to be increased following an Octopus payment review. I accept that the revised amount was accurate but had reduced my direct debit in April because a historic balance had built up on the account that I was looking to claw back. After discussion with Lauren it was clear that Octopus are flexible. We agreed to increase the direct debt to a round sum at the level recommended but that the balance on the account would be refunded.”
