He looked into why I wasn't on the 12m fixed tariff I thought I had signed up for, and sorted that, and advised on the d/d payments going forward. “After about only 5 minutes, got through to Pete S, who answered my query about agreeing to a new 12 month fixed price gas contract whilst the current one still has 7 months to run. Apparently, there is no penalty for swapping tariffs early. Great, that's going to save me £2 per day this winter! Then we discussed whether an 'economy-7-type' tariff might be preferable. Unless you're going to consume around 33% of your electric at night, it's not worth it. Tick - next question: my 36 solar panels - can I have an export meter fitted? I'm told I would receive 15p per kwh exported. That's attractive, but I would have to abandon my Feed-in tariff which pays me about 8.9p per kwh. However, as the FIT is paid just on 16 of my 36 panels (they were installed at different times), it makes sense to explore that option further. Thanks again Pete - lots of good advice in a 10 minute call!”
