“It is a cliche but laser eye surgery has changed my life!:-) Really easy process, even on the actual day it was seamless. The aftercare and support is excellent - can't fault it. The results have been amazing!!”

“Much more painful on first day than i expected. Wish I had brought painkillers to the appointment as i was not able to take them until i got home (40 mins) and could not sleep due to pain. This got better over the week. Have been wearing glasses since i was 3 so the weight off my face is great. But do have trouble with dryness now and have to get more sleep than i did before operation as my eyes are always tired. Have blurry spots if eyes are not rested, still hard looking at words on screens. Overall happy to have vision without glasses (was -6.5 before) but hoping dryness and these side effects will go.”

“I was a little sceptical at first when looking into laser eye surgery but after the inital consultation that put my mind at ease. The details I received were clear and concise and I had no worries afterwards. The surgery was easy and I was well looked after during the whole process. Everyone who has asked me about the surgery has had the same answer "Its great, you should get it done"”

“The procedure was explained very well at each stage (what to expect, etc), and aftercare was extremely good. If I had to pick a criticism, the only thing I can think of is that you should warn patients about the smell from the laser (burning!) - it was slightly unnerving! I would, and have, recommended this to friends/family and colleagues.”

“Was a little scared to have it done, but on the day I was put at ease and it went really quickly. The following day I was in discomfort but this only lasted one day. The feeling was like cutting up really strong onions as my eyes watered a lot and they just stung all the time, but after this day this went away and could see each day getting better.”

“The surgeon was very profession, which filled me with confidence but I found the operation terrifying and my eyes were very uncomforatble for the following few days. The nurse was very friendly and I really appreciate the big hug she gave me when I burst into tears after the operation. My follow up appointments have been great and the staff have been friendly and professional. My eyesight is now perfect (hooorah no more contact lenses) and I would definitely recommend Optical Express to a friend. Thank you ;)”

“After my initial consultation I was recommended to have lens replacement, I had a consultation at Manchester where everything seemed okay. However I wasn't informed that the surgeon had recommended laser treatment to be a more suitable treatment for me until I had travelled to Manchester and was about to have surgery. I felt this could have been done earlier which would have saved me going to Manchester and booking into a hotel and my daughter taking a day off work to be there. After that experience I have been very pleased with the staff at Sheffield who have been friendly, professional and put me at my ease before I had the treatment and I am more than happy with the final result.”

“I had some initial problems after the surgery with a little nerve flickering under my right eye but this settled down after a week and is now not a problem. I went to see the staff at Optical Express about this initially and I was given an appointment that day and was reassured that it would settle down so felt much better. I have a little dry eye in the morning especially in my right eye but the dry eye drops have helped with that. I am now one month from the surgery and am really happy that I had it done-my vision is better than 20/20 and it has really transformed my life! I feel well supported by the Optical Express team and the aftercare appointments make me feel that I am well looked after even after the procedure.”

“surgery was very quick. I was home within an hour. There was no pain though I did sleep after surgey for a couple of hours. There wasa little grittines for a couple of hours after waking but other than that I have had no problems at all.”

“I was very impressed with how well things went. I was worried with how much time off I would need but it was such minimal impact to work overall that I am hoping I can get my right eye better as this is the only aspect that is worrying me at this time. Overall brilliant.”
