“The actual 10 minute procedure was the easiest part of the whole experience. Although your fully aware during the procedure: the surgeons talking and reassuring you, touching your eyes, the burnins smell of the laser, it was surprisingly simple and quick. Once the anaesthetic begins to wear off the discomfort starts to kick in. You are constantly blinking, unable to focus, your eyes are streaming all the time and it gets progressively worse. Wearing the protective goggles at night was very uncomfortable and you have to be very careful when cleaning the gunk around your eyes. When you see improvement one day and no change or worsening the other it's very frustrating. The first week and the third weeks were personally the worst for me and my eyes constantly feel dry. The blink drops have been my best friend lately and a month after the surgery I am finally seeing results I'm happy with. The imrprovement seems to be at a stable rate instead of fluctuating and I'm happier with the results now.”

“The surgery was very quick and painless, nurses and surgen were friendly and reasuring. My eyes healed rapidly, the results are wonderful. I think to sum up why to have laser eye i would say the joys are....not having steamed up glasses when its raining outside, to be able to go swimming and see clearly, to be able to read the shampoo bottle in the shower, apply my makeup easily, no ache round the ears or red marks on my nose, no fuss of contact lenses and poking myself in the eye . The only down side is that eyes get tired unlike glasses or contact lenses so sometimes dry or tired eyes can cause blurred vision.”

“Since laser surgery my vision appears to be improving all the tiime. 3 months in i have been given the all clear to resume my "normal" lifestyle specifically sports which is great. This will make it more enjoying without the use of contact lens or glasses-great! I have recommended many of my friends and relatives whom have had it done recently or are planning in the immediate future ( only if cost was a little bit attactive for some of my family) Just waitng for my eyes to heal a bit further in relation to night vision around lights. Delighted to have had the surgery- no regrets!”

“I WAS TOLD EVERYTHING I NEED AND WHAT TO EXPECT BEFORE THE PROCEDURE. FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENTS WERE VERY HELPFUL IN KEEPING MY EYES IN CHECK AND MAKING SURE THEY ARE IN GOOD HEALTH. OVERALL, I AM VERY PLEASED WITH MY VISION AND I AM QUITE SUPRISED BY WHAT I CAN ACHIEVE BY THE LASER EYE SURGERY.”

“The staff at optical express were very friendly and talked me through the whole service. The surgery was much quicker and less painful than i anticipated. The after care has also been amazing. I wiuld definitely recommend Optical Express to friends and family.”

“I started wearing reading glasses in 2004, but still I have never got used to it, even more when I got to the point my long-sight was worse and I had to wear glasses all the time ... I slowly decided I wanted to have a laser surgery, and I don't regret it at all, now I'm free and a bit happier!”

“I have now had both lasik and lasek surgery and it has changed my life after weairng glasses since I was 9 and I am now 52, I wish I had done it before. I now can see really clearly for all long distance and driving. But need to have some glasses for close up fine work e.g. sewing reading small print, but changing the print size on the kindle helps. Both proceedures were a little incomfortable and the dry eyes afterwards, but it was worth it to be glasses free. I noticed this most on holiday when before swimming meant taking lenses in and out or wearing glasses. Trips to the cinema and thertre have been brilliant it just gives more freedom of choice without having to have glasses or lenses”

“I play a lot of sport and my lenses were not doing the job so chose to have the lasik surgery. the procedure was effortless, all the team have been more than helpfull and i was put at ease. Around 6 hours after surgery i could already notice the difference and then by morning it was great. A little bit of dryness still but overall very happy”

“On the day of the op I was nervous like anyone would be. The surgeon Jonathan Carr was very friendly and answered all my questions and put my mind at ease. The experience in the laser suite was amazing, it was like a roller coaster ride,thrilling! It was so facinating how the laser can correct your vision in such a short session of time (30 seconds in my worst eye). The surgeon talked me through every step of the way so I knew what was happening. I would do this again and would highly recommend that other have it done. The results are amazing, I could see the very next day. The advice to get some sleep after the operation should be taken as this helps the eyes to heal and then all the uncomfortable feelings are gone by the time you wake up....absolutely amazing! Thank you to Optical Express.”

“I went to Optical express to enquire about laser eye surgery. After the consultion I was told I would need intraocular lens surgery. I was apprehensive at first but was well informed and went ahead. Staff were fantastic for both the intraocular surgery and the laser top up I needed afterwards. The follow-up appointments went really well and the staff were very helpful and informative all the time. Cannot fault anything about my experience with Optical Express”

“I am over the moon with my new vision,I can now see for miles and my husband catches me admiring the view from our house in the mornings, which I could never do before. I would highly reccommend laser eye surgery to anyone, I was so nervous about it and there's really nothing to worry about, it's over in a flash and completely painless.”
