I was misled when I first joined Origin. Then for 4 months after numerous calls to operators ( who could only continuously apologise) I ended up complaining to the Ombudsmen to get some action. No one could cancel the contract except the cancellation team and they didn’t even contact me but just sent an email. Lousy speed and intermittent drop outs. Joined iiNet and in less then 24hrs up and running with amazing speeds. Would not recommend Origin to anyone.

Rubbish on speed test buffering on Netflix from day 1. Hours to fix no engineer offered DIY talk through. Just found out tonight people have been trying to phone on landline & line is dead! Hrs trying to fix this via text. Phoning tomorrow if this gets me nowhere Ombudsmen will be next port of call Shocking service to no resolve. God knows how long my landline hasn't been working! My advice avoid at all cost

Origin broadband is very infamous company. They provide very slow internet that goes off constantly but they charge for the price of fibre optic broadband. Some crooks and thieves are working in origin broadband company to deceive customers and honestly origin broadband is a blood sucker of customers. I don’t suggest it at all and if you want to waste your money and get hassle then become origin broadband customer. Most rubbish and useless company on the planet is origin broadband. Really shame on origin broadband. They are very hateful and the way they are making money is worse than stealing money from customers. Please don’t join origin broadband. I regret that I chose origin. Feel so sorry for origin broadband customers including myself.

Origin broadband is the most infamous and crook company on the planet. They deceive customers when joining and they are thieves. Their internet is very rubbish and useless. I don’t recommend it at all. If you want to waste your money and get hassle then become origin broadband customer. To be honest they have nasty customer service and they are thieves and rubbers. One of the biggest mistakes in my life was becoming origin broadband customer. I am paying for the service that I never get. Their internet is very slow and really rubbish. You don’t know how bad and disgusting origin broadband is. The way origin makes money is worse than stealing money from your pocket. Really shame on origin broadband. Bunch of thieves and crooks are rubbing customers by the name of origin broadband company. Hate origin and really disappointed.

Stay away from this company because I have been with Origin for over 9 months and was in financial difficulties in September and pleading with them to reduce my cost in the end they took me to a debt collection agency even though I could close my account without further costs

Diabolical don't do it!! I have 2 phone lines running through 1 cable, 1 line bt broadband, 1 line origin (changed as sales man said it would be as good or better and cheaper) definitely cheaper but Diabolical, not a patch on BT, wish I hadn't changed and now cannot get out for 2 years, so origin says no problem as I get a good service to router, but the WiFi is rubbish keeps dropping and slow, doesn't happen with bt line!! Don't do it!! Its rubbish, and tech are as useful as a leaking roof, I have warned you!!

I was with Telstra for 11 years. Compared to Telstra, your internet speed is very low. I am paying for 100mbps. But most of the time I am getting 10mbps especially when I connect more devices.

I actually think people are confused and this is for Origin broadband uk but as others have reviewed origin broadband Australia on here I will also: If I could give them a -5 stars I would. They have completely screwed every communication I have had with them up. They are sending me reminders to provide my payment reference number condescendingly a week after I was on the phone with a customer service officer immediately on the day and paid and they took the reference number while I was on the line and fixed the issue. They have been unable to get the phone service I've been paying for to work and even though I pay for top plan and top speed the best I ever get is 43 Mb/sec when I should have up to 80 and that 43 Mb speed is in non peak time... at peak time... streaming isn't always a fun experience. God forbid you have a few devices using it... I often have to revert to 4G. They don't seem to care, I had two escalations in the system when they suspended my service, even though during the time it was late I was constantly on phone with them trying to get service doing what I've paid for. I have demanded they meet their promise or refund me for the difference between the plans for all the months I've been paying for a service they cannot provide. All I get are emails sending me a "kindly reminder to provide my payment reference number' if I want my service unsuspended for a service I've paid for is active and I don't owe any money on but they sure owe me a refund and some compensation. No hurry at their end on that one, apparently. You must jump when they say but they don't need to really respond or address your issues, that's how it seems to work. They have no website for customers, no portal at all and honestly I don't know how they can hold their head up as an ISP provider.

Absolutely the worst internet providers I have ever had to deal with, have been with them for 6 months, have had an internet connection for 4 months because for the last 2 months I have had no internet connection and every time I try to contact origin about this issue I keep getting direct around the place, and when I did have internet it was so slow I could barely stream 2 devices at once on a 50MBPS download speed, customer service terrible, over all services provided, terrible.

Terrible! Been paying for the internet for a month, no one ever showed up to install the nbn box- when they finally did, internet doesn’t work. I spent hours on the phone with them..they do the same troubleshooting and internet doesn’t work. I was told technicians would come see what’s wrong about 4 times. Missed work and waited all day, no one showed up. A theft of money!

Dreadful - avoid at all costs. Signed up for a 12 month contract with payment in advance. Broadband has never worked. Almost impossible to contact by phone, they also drop you off chats (or plain ignore you). Arranged for a technical person to phone and they didn't. Asked for a refund and they won't. It is not worth risking using this bunch of 'charlatans' because if you have a problem they are hopeless.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! My broadband has been awful for months. My devices buffer constantly. I reported this to Origin, they advised there was a network fault. One minute I was told I needed to make an appointment for Open Reach to attend, when I did this, I was told it's external and I don't need to be home. No word of a lie, less than an hour later, an Open Reach engineer arrived, surprise surprise, he needed access inside my house, good job I was home!!! He was here for 5 hours, in the end he changed a line, taking a chunk out of the front of my house. He left assuring me the fault had been resolved. That evening, my broadband was worse than ever, I again contacted Origin to be told that there is another issue, which I was not informed about in the first instance, so there was in fact two faults. This has yet to be resolved. I have been waiting over a month now for the service I am paying for. The staff are rude when you contact them for updates. I have been told "it will be resolved as soon as possible, it could be hours, days or weeks, I don't know". Wow, that's brilliant customer service. I also reported the damage to my property, to be told I had to contact Open Reach myself to complain... ummm no, I am Origins customer, not Open Reaches customer. You have instructed them to attend and do the work, you therefore are responsible for dealing with this complaint. I am currently working from home, with great difficulty. Origin do not seem bothered in the slightest. My contract doesn't officially end until June 2021. However I have now contacted another provider to leave this shambles of a company ASAP. And I will be taking this down the breach of contract route as I have continued to pay my bill each month despite receiving awful service. Goodbye Origin!!! See you in court!!!

My experience with Origin Broadband is they are a deceptive company. I am with them for my electricity & gas at my home and electricity for my 2 shops they are good for that BUT I signed for a $70 a month broadband deal reduced for 1 year to $50 per month I was already paying $70 per month with my other supply. They are charging me $70 a month despite what I signed for & have tried to sort out the overcharge. it took days for it tonwork and numerous calls trying to sort out everything they couldn’t of cared less. Everytime I phone they said “we’re sorting it out”no they where not. I told them we have people working from home. They lost 4 days of work. Why would I change from $70 a month to another $70 a month and have no internet for 4 days. DON’T SIGN WITH THESE PEOPLE

I have never written a review before, origin broadband is by far the worse company I’ve ever dealt with , I signed up a few months ago and have had nothing but trouble with the internet service. They still charge a monthly fee, regardless of not being able to access the internet. I’ve spent hours on hold trying to resolve the issue. The staff I have been speaking to are not from Australia, from god knows where, English is limited. I highly recommend everyone stay away from this company, I honestly wish I never signed up to a contact. If there was a negative star I would of given that!

Truly awful. I'm on there super fast package. We get 15mbps maximum, despite the first few weeks being up at 40ish. Outages are weekly, often multiple times. As I'm writing this review from a BT Openzone hotspot that costs £7 per day because for 2 weeks now, our internet has been going on and off every hour or so, and even when it's working, I'm getting 2mbps. Origin Broadband are a complete joke. They're not even good value when you consider the hundreds you'll spend in mobile data and hotspot charges when the service inevitably drops. Their customer support is good, but they're fighting a losing battle. I'm switching back to Sky. It may cost twice as much monthly, but they're cheaper in the long run.

The worst experience ever. I’m a customer of origin electricity and they offered me their broadband with a discount. I wasn’t planning to change my provider however the manager on the phone was convincing. It was the worst decision ever. The cooling off period expires before the modem is sent to you. Once the modem arrived and it was connected my internet was gone. It hasn’t been working since then. I was calling their technical support every day and was on the phone for hours. They were doing the same troubleshooting over and over again. Even send a technician that didn’t find any problems. But the service wasn’t working. We tried my old modem but it wasn’t working and they suggested that it’s not compatible. Also they suggested that I need to call a local technician to check my connections inside the house that I need to pay for. However, all my connections were working perfectly fine before I plugged their modem. This whole situation continued for 8 days. 8 days no internet, lots of time on the phone! I canceled my agreement and signed with a different provider and ‘what a miracle’ I had internet using my old modem and old connections in 1,5 hours. Now origin wants me to pay 300$ for early termination fee for the service that I didn’t get. Don’t use origin broadband!
