About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

The time it takes to process and freight items is possible the longest of any online store that I use.

No problem with products purchased but my last order was delivered late in the day, after dark, and left in our driveway between our 2 cars! We have a large verandah where parcels are usually left so I don't know why the parcel was left out in the elements. It was lucky that my husband went to his car for something and spotted it before anyone else did.

LED Autolamps product is great. However when i ordered there was no mention of zero stock and there was no communication of when it would be sent for nearly 2 weeks. Not a huge issue just would have been nice to know what was going on.

I wasn't impressed about not knowing a product I bought wasn't in stock. Also, no fault of outback, the product doesn't work.

I'll seperate this into 2 segments. 1. Customer service and support 1st Class. 2. Supplier lead time accuracy and updates terrible. I have now purchased 2 insect screens and in both cases the actual lead time and delivery was way too long compared to indicated lead time.

Service at the store was very good. Delivery was poor- stayed home all day on the day delivery was scheduled but item not delivered. Was delivered the following day after I followed up with head office.Delivery was left inside fence and visible from road and curb, not as per delivery instructions provided.

Bought 2 jayco wheel spats one was new the second one has deep scratches in it not happy, it said new when i bought didn't expect demiged goods.

The process of ordering and receiving log on details was seamless. However the time to dispatch the item is disappointing. I cannot do a review or take a photo as it has not even been processed for dispatch!

Gday….i got the 40L rear footwell tank, tanks great but I really-plumbed it with two tap valves and the breather on top so I could access the entire tank. As it was sent, once one side is empty even though it’s one tank there’s still water on the other side of the middle ridge….just a thought👍🏻

I ordered equipment online and expected it to arrive in accordance to their shipping/delivery dates outlined on the website. The date came and went and I heard nothing from Outback Equipment. I rang to follow up only to find out the item I ordered wasn't in stock, which was not highlighted with the item listed on the website or in the shopping cart. They said they wouldn't know when the item was going to arrive in their warehouse. I asked them to send a follow up email, which they did but it wasn't helpful at all. It had been weeks (well past expected delivery date) and still no luck, so I asked for a refund. Pretty average experience if you ask me. Will be ordering from another camping equipment store next time. Clearer communication initiated by the company and even an apology early on would have been beneficial.

Quality products but not great service. Order didn't ship for weeks, when I contacted them asking for an update they responded 2 days later with just a tracking number and "regards." It took 21 days from order placed to order posted. Not the best customer service.

The service and delivery were great but the item had small ding in the lid like it had been hit by a blunt nail so I donated it to a charity shop and settled for the previous next size down which unlike that mentioned above was protected in the brand name box when delivered by whatever place it was purched from sometime in the past such is online shopping which more and more every year no longer makes me happy but gives me grief instead rare issue but there you go...

yeah it is a good store and you can save good money on geniune articles, BUT, be patient as it takes a while to get it. Even dispatch and tracking advise take a while to come through. The delay in information makes you nervous and makes you wonder what the hell is going on. I think a lot of the stuff they have to get in and then repost it? All the time you think thay they will dispatch "next day" - not the case. I dont realy know.

First order I placed a month ago was really good Items turned up on time and goods arrived. Second order placed recently, 5 business days ago, no information no updates don’t know when it will be dispatched.
