About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

Gday….i got the 40L rear footwell tank, tanks great but I really-plumbed it with two tap valves and the breather on top so I could access the entire tank. As it was sent, once one side is empty even though it’s one tank there’s still water on the other side of the middle ridge….just a thought👍🏻

I ordered equipment online and expected it to arrive in accordance to their shipping/delivery dates outlined on the website. The date came and went and I heard nothing from Outback Equipment. I rang to follow up only to find out the item I ordered wasn't in stock, which was not highlighted with the item listed on the website or in the shopping cart. They said they wouldn't know when the item was going to arrive in their warehouse. I asked them to send a follow up email, which they did but it wasn't helpful at all. It had been weeks (well past expected delivery date) and still no luck, so I asked for a refund. Pretty average experience if you ask me. Will be ordering from another camping equipment store next time. Clearer communication initiated by the company and even an apology early on would have been beneficial.

Quality products but not great service. Order didn't ship for weeks, when I contacted them asking for an update they responded 2 days later with just a tracking number and "regards." It took 21 days from order placed to order posted. Not the best customer service.

The service and delivery were great but the item had small ding in the lid like it had been hit by a blunt nail so I donated it to a charity shop and settled for the previous next size down which unlike that mentioned above was protected in the brand name box when delivered by whatever place it was purched from sometime in the past such is online shopping which more and more every year no longer makes me happy but gives me grief instead rare issue but there you go...

yeah it is a good store and you can save good money on geniune articles, BUT, be patient as it takes a while to get it. Even dispatch and tracking advise take a while to come through. The delay in information makes you nervous and makes you wonder what the hell is going on. I think a lot of the stuff they have to get in and then repost it? All the time you think thay they will dispatch "next day" - not the case. I dont realy know.

First order I placed a month ago was really good Items turned up on time and goods arrived. Second order placed recently, 5 business days ago, no information no updates don’t know when it will be dispatched.

Whilst happy with the product I received I was disappointed that what appeared to be "in stock" was actually not and had to first be ordered from your supplier. Took longer to receive than expected.

Ordered a caravan cover on the 18/3/25, was sent the wrong size which was returned & the right one finally arrived on the 1/5/25

The tailgate carrier was ok, but maybe a zipper will do better as I travel from Sydney to WA ningaloo area and took some dirt tracks. All dust got inside my carrier, overall it held up good and stay in place.

Generally have good service from Outback, but my most recent experience was that a miss pick in the warehouse has seen me still waiting to receive my fire pit. A bit frustrating as I don’t think I will see it before Easter camping….

Product sent to the wrong address. Had to chase up myself with courier company . Finally got the product resent. Whole process was inconvenient. Not even a tracking number until I raised a complaint.

I placed an order 15th Jan whcih I realise is likely a busy time, but when I hadn't heard anything at all, not even a picking noticed, by 22nd I reached out via email. The response came on the 24th that my order had been dispatched. Unfortunately when it arrived, a week later, it was incorrect. I had ordered a dash mat and throttle controller, but I received floor mats. As soon as I identified the error I notified Outback and they were quick to reply, apparently the throttle controller was not in stock and I would need to send photos of the item received to process the return. At this stage it was nearly three weeks after my order and the first time I was made aware of any stock issues. I re-laid this to the support person who was very kind and helpful and acknowledged my frustration, so I do appreciate that. There was some back and forth getting the return sorted and I had to send a photo of the return post receipt before my items would be sent, when I sent the photo I enquired again regarding stock and was told it should arrive soon. The following day, still not having an ETA on the controller I called to request a refund which was accepted and processed within 5 days. Overall the experience was very frustrating and the communications around the original order were effectively non-existent, however the support staff I dealt with (Dakota) was pleasant and understanding and was able to process things quickly so I would consider that part a good experience. If it had been identified that the items I was ordering could be low in stock or there might be a delay it would have greatly improved my experience.
