About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

“Have always loved purchasing from outback equipment, however my latest purchase took 21 days to deliver a 1L bottle of aluminium cleaner 25km. 10 days business 11 days courier”

“Products supplied so far has been very good, the length of time taken to dispatch the products is unexceptionable poor. I liken it to a drop shipping supplier. It is for this reason I will only buy from this company if they are the only ones that can supply what I need.”

“Parcel tracking didnt, an inappropriate fitting was recommended that I had to return, guessing for store credit? I have had no reply other than my return had arrived & I would be advised. Can source what I need from hardware store.”

“My main problem with your company is trying to get Intouch with you I drove all the way up to Acacia Ridge from the Gold Coast, to collect an awning that I was told that it was going to be grey, by the person on the phone, only to get home & realised it was the wrong colour I continuously rang to be told ‘ring back at another time, I rang over 12 times, then I was told it would be delivered to your store on the Thursday before Easter only find out the following week that you had obviously closed for a week, so I missed out on my installation. The following week I rang for 3 days before I finally got through then I had to wait another 10 days before I got the call to say it had arrived. Then I had to drive back up there again to do the exchange at my expense! So after an excessive amount of phone calls & time wasted I won’t be rushing back to purchase from your company again One month on Im still waiting to have my awning installed”

“The anti flap kit we purchased has been used twice. On the second time we used it, one of the locking clamp levers lost its tiny. These seem very inadequate. We now have an anti flap kit with one less locking clamp. Apart from this, it seems just satisfactory.”

“Happy with the product itself but I found out the item wasn’t sent out to me till 4 days after purchase. Even though I paid the extra for express postage. I bought it on the Monday and it wasn’t given to Aus Post till a bit after 7pm Thursday evening for express postage to my address. I’d have been better off paying normal postage. Any reason why you guys waited 4 days to send it? It obviously should’ve been sent out that day, would you agree?”

“Yes, I am quite happy with the Evakool portable fridge that I purchased from you. Right price and works well in any temperature. BUT- Delivery was a major headache. Couriers Please are hopeless to deal with and it took over a week to arrive here- by a different carrier- from Brisbane. I could have walked down and picked it up quicker. Next time please use a reliable overnight carrier to Bundaberg area. One extremely reliable one is Time Express. Been using them for 10 years plus without a hitch. Thank you for this opportunity to comment. Mike C.”

“My order was a yacht fitting .Great price and good service when rung by phone . However the whole experience was let down by EXTREMELY slow delivery . This seemed to be partly due to slow dispatch and this was then compounded by extraordinarily slow snail pace of Australia Post parcel mail —- time to abandon that delivery method .”

“Not bad but ordered a product it said was in stock on website, a week goes by and i think why is my package not on route? Call them to find out, to be told its not in stock and we are waiting for it to come into stock. Some communication would have been greatly appreciated”

“Pricing is always competitive and the delivery (once dispatched) is usually prompt. However, the time to pick and pack is excessive. It makes me wonder if OBE is just an aggregator or sells based on wholesale -consignment on order receipt as part of their model keeping local retail alive, OBE”
