About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

Was VERY disappointed that the poles didn't come with the awning, making it a VERY expensive item, not happy at all as we won't be able to afford them for quite a while.

I came to your store your discuss some roof rack options and to discuss drawers solutions gor my disco 4. I also wanted a quote. I was told by the young bloke who served me that he would email a quote I never received one. The young bloke also had very little advice for me regarding a front runner roof rack solution. The advice I was given regarding the front runner drawers was that they rattled, this advice was based on the young blokes experience of his bosses car. I purchased a roof rack from front runner along with many accessories after they helped me find a solution. I also purchased the drawers, bags and cub boxes directly from Front Runner, I am very happy with aLl my purchases. The poor service, lack of Knowledge fist your firm approximately $5,500.00 in sales. As a customer, I want good informed knowledgable service. I want honesty and integrity. If you say you will do something or provide something. Do it! If not, you are wasting your time and mine. I wont be returning yo your store. I don't see the point.

Ordered a pop top van cover and when i got it it didn't fit our van even though our van was in the range of measurements supplied on your website. Also your add clearly stated the cover had a side opening. When I spoke to Daniel from your company he said the covers aren't suited to older vans and that some had side openings and some didn't. He also said he would organize a partial refund because the cover was not as advertised. A later email then advised there would be no refund. So your representative went back on there word. You the told Fair Trading that I simply "chose" the wrong cover. I dispute this as I said my van was within the measurements supplied for that cover on the website. You also said that my cover clearly stated that it was rear entry only. I dispute this as well. I still have a copy of the add that clearly state that the cover has a "side opening that can be used as a sun shade". Finally the cover rips as soon as you look at it. No wonder you get a roll of patch material with it, because you need it. The previous $100 cover from Aldi was better than this one. In short your service was underwhelming and your business practices questionable. And from looking at you Google reviews I am not alone in my opinions. I will never use your company again and will be sure to tell every one who will listen not to buy from you. You then have the hide to send my a feedback form.

Received not what I ordered, contacted the company, sent them photos and part numbers of what was sent, total denial. Then after four phone calls I was told they are looking in to it, that was about 7 weeks ago weeks ago. WOULD NOT deal with them again.

Very disappointing experience for my first major purchase. Submitted order and paid May 7. Didn’t hear a thing until I contacted them May 17. Told me stock would be in May 19 and sent out express same day. 2 days later and still no update, no tracking and no delivery. Calling tomorrow to cancel order and request a refund. I can understand stock unavailability, but how about some communication. Silence is not good enough.

Absolutely disgusted in this company! I was emailing someone called Thomas in March asking for a refund and he has not responded since March! I want my money back!

You sold me a bash plate that does not fit my car, when I sent a photo to show you how it doesn't fit I got pretty much ridiculed by your staff (Thomas K) and you had some stupid excuses saying I'm mounting it wrong. Then when I questioned this any more you stopped answering my emails. It still sits in the garage and I haven't got my money back. VERY NOT HAPPY!!!

Good service when you shop online, got the order shipped quickly. Not so good on the personal assistance. When I needed to clarify some details regarding a spare part they didn’t know the answer to my questions and didn’t offer to find an answer to assist me to place the order. I placed the $ 450 order elsewhere, that supplier didn’t know the answer to my question but they did find the answer and advised me the next day...

The water tank was very poor quality. The plastic threads on it couldn't be tightened and it leaked all the time.very disappointed. Never buy again

I would never buy from this company again. What a joke! Before I purchased an awning & the hardware I rang & asked if there were supply issues, was told stock was coming in next week. They charged my credit card then I waited 2 months with no delivery. I called them only to be told it was on backorder. No one had told me & I questioned why they would charge my card before they had stock. I had received a pre alert for delivery which was obviously false. I asked for a refund which they said they’d organise. Then weeks later I receive the awning with no hardware & notice a refund for the hardware amount. Now I have an awning with no hardware that I can’t install. I’ve contacted them to find out if I can get the hardware or send the awning back. Still waiting on a reply. Poor service. To not at least communicate with me to ask if I wanted only one item if they couldn’t supply the rest. It’s a hassle I do not need right now & could have been avoided with some honesty in the beginning & better communication.

Where do I begin. I purchased 3 items on the 16th of April for the total of just over $550. Not only did I have to send 3 emails asking for my receipt and tricking number, they sent the wrong tracking number 4days later. After many phone calls with very unprofessional staff addressing me as "mate" as a form of communication, I was the one who had to suggest solutions moving forward. Out of the 3 staff, only one was helpful in sending me the right information and it is now the 9th of May and I still haven't received my items over in WA. I would rather deal with Centrelink than outback equipment and have told everyone of my fellow 4wd friends about the shocking organisation and customer service this experience has had to offer. This will be the first and last time I invest my hard earned money in such shocking company.
