I can only agree with the negative reviews on here having purchased a home on the beckets grove Wymondham estate and we don’t even move in until the end of the week! It’s our first house purchase and have saved for years for this but it’s obvious to Persimmon that means nothing to them. From the start it’s been really hard work with estimates that are miles off and extremely poor communication. I feel for the staff on the ground as all they can do I pass you onto the management above them who never and I mean never get back to you. We’ve even had someone drive off while we waited to speak to them, straight past us. Having looked round the house prior to completing on Friday all I can say is the workman ship is far below what you would expect, it’s left my wife feeling physically sick given how much we were looking forward to this. All I can say to summarise is as a company they simply don’t care. They don’t care that this is years and years of saving, dreaming and excitement. Please avoid persimmon for your own sanity.

Having read through all these despicable complaints , which I can entirely relate to , I am disgusted beyond measure that the government have not stepped in to protect buyers. The lies, the shoddy workmanship, staff doing drugs in people’s homes, staff smoking on your property, , staff who don’t turn up, staff who break more things in their attempt to fix stuff, low paid handy men instead of qualified trades people. Multiple health and safety breaches, ignore all your calls, concerns and complaints. Their staff are rude beyond belief if they do bother to talk. Only way to deal with them is to film and photograph and document everything, report them to health and safety executive and the local council planning dept. They only talk money, when eventually no one buys their crappy homes or they are refused planning permission they will finally listen. Worst customer experience of my life. The fact they haven’t changed despite all these complaints tells every future potential customer what they need to know!

The worse company to buy a home from. Better off paying more and going else where. They don’t care about the customer they only care about the £ that’s it. The only time they want to do something for you is when you tell them your going to kick off!

Would give them no stars if I could. Don't waste your time or money. The company are full of lies, poor standards, nearly two years in our home and still waiting for issues to be resolved.

It makes me laugh that this asks "what went wrong" - it would be quicker to say "what went well". The sales team lied to us about our property on multiple counts, and Persimmon aren't even going to investigate this. I can't even get an apology, let alone any form of compensation. The snags list is still being worked through 12 months later. I have had to take so many days off of work for their contractors to let me down time and time again. Some of the "finishing touches" are a disgrace. I had to pay £600 to not have integrated appliances in the kitchen (or £1200 to have integrated appliances) - I don't understand why the kitchen isn't completed as standard with the option to upgrade to this? It is a con to have to pay one or the other. I shouldn't have to pay for a gate to close off my garden either, but had to pay over £250 for this. Other properties didn't pay but got them fitted anyway. I was told that if I don't pay, I would have a gap in the fence where the gate would be. I could go on for hours about how terrible Persimmon Homes are, and have treated me. I have just written an 8 page complaint to the MD of the southern region and I am currently pending a response - I doubt very much that anything will come from this.

I have given Persimmon Homes over 8 Months to put right things that just shouldn't of happened, each time i've gone out of my way to help with the repairs, we're ignored, given loads of apologies, then have to escalate higher. We've now escalated past the Customer Service Manager Rob Carr to the Managing Director Richard Cook, and even his assurances have now failed. We are now left with a house that has incorrect coloured bricks randomly all the way around the property, holes in walls and a list of other issues still outstanding. We've given then dedicated days and warned them this was the last of our leave, we are now facing taking unpaid leave to get the remained of the work done with no assurance we will be reimbursed. After an emotional call to the Managing Director Richard Cook, i felt reassured that they were going to give us some form of compensation after our garden flooded, only to find it was a ploy to get access to the property to do the minimum remaining work then walk away. 100% let down my a senior member of Persimmon Homes. Persimmon are willing to replace a lawn which they claim is Northumbrian Water's fault as a good will gesture, yet they wont acknowledge what they have put us though. They have started to quote reasonable access clause in contract, so we're now perusing The supply of goods act, as it is not to an acceptable quality, acceptable skill used and 8 months is not an acceptable timeline. Why should we have to go though this just to correct their mistakes....

poor customer service all around. all they want is your money yet when you point out many, many problems with snagging caused by builders(use the term very loosely)! promises, promises and when eventually someone does turn up the problem, in our experience is an inept person unable to resolve the fault and usually does a very poor job! two years with no resolve at all. disgusting.

Should never have been allowed to move into house as drains blocked with cement, roads unmade and damaging car, no post, no refuse collection. House not finished. Get the money first then worry about the complaints. Disgraceful company

Lies and no sense of morality. Nothing has changed as a result of change of leadership. The way this company treats its customers should be outlawed. It’s people’s lives this company trashes with their profit first approach. The government needs to put in measures to protect buyers from the actions of Persimmons before someone suffers a loss of life as a result of the stress and impact this company has on people’s mental health.

I'm a carpenter working on these shocking builds, we are on a price so have to cut every corner to earn £160 a day but I feel so so sorry for the customers buying these shocking properties. Only the other day I spoke to a sparks he told me the customer had paid 5k for extra electrics and his price had increased by £100 for the fit so lets say another £250 in materials at best a £350 job has cost the poor customer 5k. Its disgusting how these companys rip the trades off and the customers. We're not proud of our work but we need to pay our own bills its the Barons creaming all the monies along with the main contractors. My advise. . . never ever buy a new build from any main building contractor, and I've worked for a lot of them.

From under valuing your house to over valuing theirs, lies and general poor service, Persimmon have it all. Top that off with having sales people inept and incapable of dialogue, having to text managers to ask about questions because they dont have a clue about their site and unwilling to reason with buyers even when evidence is provided to disprove the Persimmon stance and even better managers who refute your points without actually sitting down to listen to your concerns, contempt is there to top it all off. Even the head of Persimmon for East Scotland wouldn't engage when contacted. I would have thought that a head of a company maligned for their ethics and build standards would be willing to engage with customers..... but then again, maybe not. If you're thinking about buying from Persimmon my advice would be don't. We risked it and received very poor service. Treated with contempt from the start. If you're thinking of buying in East Scotland these people are out there for you. And if you're buying at Kirk Lane..... I'd just go elsewhere with a reputable builder. If I could it would be 0⭐

Persimmon are not even worthy of the one star. Take heed if you are thinking of buying one of their houses. The workmanship is poor and once they have your money they couldn't care less about fixing your issues- of which there will be loads. I have major issues with my house that have not been resolved after 2 years - they just do not want to know ! there is NO after sales service at all. To them it is all about making a fast buck out of house buyers at our expense.

I'm the buyer at London development, This builder is absolutely untrustworthy, DELAYED IN COMPLETION: 1) Booking done in Nov 2018, Exchanged contract within 4 weeks with through their recommended Mortgage broker and Solicitor, Completion date was given Mar 2019 on the reservation confirmation and contract, This is June now and no hope for completion at all, POOR COMMUNICATION: Company is extremely poor in communication to keep the buyer up to date with the current situation of development, Once you chase the site - site team will said every thing is on time No delay, But when you chase the company head office says they tell you totally different stories with excuses and blame on buyer that YOU HAVE SIGNED the contract shows we can make a delay of further 6 months from the completion date we have given you in the contract. It is like they have planned delay without informing the buyer at all, then later they also start putting blame on the junior employees for the lack of communication, HIDDEN CHARGES: There are a lot of hidden charges they apply on the buyer for example, they will charge you for the tape in the garden, front and garden lights, even the shower handle, Every single single small things they will charge you extra for these. and force the buyer to purchase these from the Persimmon homes or black mail the buyer to lose the warranty and the NHBC Guarantee and insurance will be invalid, Extremely miscommunication with buyer. The persimmons homes will try their best to blackmail and pressurize the buyer, COMPANY HEADS: I wrote to all the management including Chairman, Directors, Head Director in charge, Head of Sales, Customer service care, They all are same and well connected and trained to protect the company and Do not care about customer care at all, They lied to the journalists saying we have invested in CUSTOMER CARE SERVICE etc, Full of lies and excuses. RETENTION 1.5% All over the news and company informed to the journalists about the Persimmon Homes retention scheme 1.5% of the property value to buyers solicitor to retain until the issues fixed in the property, This is completely lie, I as a purchased demanded this scheme but Persimmon homes has clearly said No scheme, even my completion date has not been given to me yet, as a clever company policy they will make a excuse of saying We are planning to add this Scheme next year. FULL OF LIES and excuses.

Recently bought a house through persimmons, they are so poor it's unreal. I can't understand how this company is still running. It's a joke. I would avoid permissions at all cost. Houses are nice but they are so lazy building it they do half a job then ignore your calls when they need to come back and finish the job off. The builders all look about 12 years old hence why the houses are not done properly. I will never ever go with persimmons ever again. Highly recommended to stay away.

Firstly just avoid this company at all costs. I don't ever write bad reviews because I try to see things from both sides but I just can't believe how unprofessional and underhanded this company is they have cost us thousands by misleading us. They dropped us at the last minute leaving us to pay nearly the whole solicitors bill and won't even refund the add ons for the house we are no longer getting although they are not fitted just to spite me and my wife for complaining, really nasty people to deal with, it's so hard to save to get a house as it is and then you have these clowns costing me money that I need for a house, it's going to set me back years please just avoid this company they just waste your time and money and not to add the grief they cause you for months before dropping you in the frying pan.

I bought plot 52 at the Sandpiper development (36 Baird Way, Minster-on-sea, Sheerness) in November 2017. In just about two weeks of experiencing moving into a new house a sections in the right hand side of the fencing line pulled apart owing to strong wind in that period. I raised my complaint, and the damage was repaired. A couple of months later there came another windy weather and a similar problem occurred. This time around, one of the arrays rail fencing panels installed as back fence pulled out from the 4 by 4 inches post it was attached to, leaving the property garden exposed and unprotected for some days before restoration work was done, after complaining to the site manager about the ugly scene on my property owing to the state of the detached fence panel in the rear fence line. But about a month ago, same fence panel in the the fence line, which in the past someone came in to repair by lifting the dangling panel upright and hammered some nail through and into the 4by4 wooden post from which it came off, has now pulled out again. Persimmon customer service, however, on getting an email with attached photos from me reporting yet another damage the same section my garden fence which they feel they have properly amended, is now refusing to carry out any repair work on the fence on the ground that the fence now has some painting on. Persimmon is now claiming that the fact that I have applied some paint, which I did in October 2018 on the ground of decoration the garden for the birthday celebration of my one year old twins, may have contributed to the pulling apart of the fence structure, and therefore nullify the two years warranty, covering non fault damage on all installation on the property. If a fence panel coming in contact with paint is now an issue, what about the numerous rather nature has bestowed on it? It is absolutely ridiculous of persimmon to hold on to such an unfounded claim regarding painting in order to disown their responsibility to hard pressed individuals, who should be valued, buying new build property
