I Bought a guitar and it came to me non functioning and the wrong year as listed. Afer a lengthy haggle and my sending videos, and written info in regards to it not functioning and the incorrect year. Reverb said fine, it seems you should be able to return the guitar to the seller. At this time Reverb sends me a return label to send to the seller. Only a fool would be so stupid. Then he would have my money and his guitar back again. Reverb contacted the seller and he refused to accept the return. Where does that leave me? I now have a broken guitar and Reverb can not do a thing to help me. What happened to Reverb's policy to stand behind me. I'll tell you what I think they're doing back there. So, they tell me, we'll help you write a letter to whomever. What a crock of garbage. There is no Reverb help,so do not expect it in any way. I am only one person, but I have gone as far as to announce on stage at certain times, that if you have any intentions to use the company Reverb for any reasons as to buy a guitar such as this,,,,dont. It will not happen and there will be no one to help. I have since ordered 3 other guitars from different sources. I have a large selection aquired over the years, but I will never ever use Reverb for any reason. They are not to be trusted. Believe me and save yourself from all the suffering I went through.

What an absolute rip off. Their Safe Ship product is completely fraudulent. They charge for it yet give the buyer an option whether to use it or instead send it back to the seller take the loss on the item plus all the shipping and listing fees. If you display on your selling page you take returns it means nothing as they force the seller to do so. If the buyer isn't feeling it he/she can do whatever they want when they want because THEY WANT without regard to policy and terms they agreed to and returd goes right along with it. What a criminal organization.

Reverb is horrible and pretty much screwed me over. Here's my story this was my first time ever using reverb because it was recommended to me by a good friend. This will also be my last due to their customer service and how unorganized they are. I sold equipment on reverb and it has been a huge headache. I shipped the item to the buyer and the buyer missed 3 delivery attempts and it was sent back to me. I got it back and the box was in really bad shape but the item was ok. The guy never received the item and the funds aren't released until he receives it. I got an email saying that I'm going to receive a refund and I was confused since I was the seller. I then got $3300 deposited in my bank account and was confused so I reached out to them. They had no records of them depositing $3300 in my account. So when you sell something on reverb and the item is returned you get to keep the money that you paid for shipping. I have been back and forth for 3-4 weeks with reverb customer service about this and they took the money back out of my account and didn't give me the full amount that I paid for shipping. They are literally a multi-million dollar company and they just got bought by Etsy not long ago. They are arguing with me for the amount of shipping that I was supposed to get. Then they sent me a partial refund for shipping so I reach out to them and they say that they are charging me a 5% reverb fee on the shipping.. wtf?? The greed is real. Never using reverb again and I don't recommend them. They are a mess and very disorganized..

Find another way to sell your gear! I had sold something in the past from Reverb and it went smoothly. I recently posted an ad for another item I am selling. Within 10 minutes I had a potential buyer respond. They mentioned they were having trouble buying my product and that Reverb told them that I had to update something on my end to verify my sellers account. It was a total phishing scam and I knew it. I contacted Reverb to let them know that a fake buyer tried to scam me and explained what the scam was. Next thing I know, they take my listing down and say my account is under a 3 day review. No explanation, no cause, nothing! I am livid to say the least. Their support is non-existent and extremely poor. I am still waiting for an explanation. If anything they should be rewarding me for dealing with a scammer and detailing their actions to help avoid other customers on their site from dealing with the same thing. I've lost hope in Reverb.com. Find another way to sell your gear. This company is a joke!

I recently sold a Warwick Bass and Reverb just kept my money. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM RIP-OFF. Zero Customer Service (No Phone). Meanwhile CEO David Mandelbrot is enjoying millions off the backs of unsuspecting Sellers. I Filed a Complaint with the Illinois Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission and now the U.S. Attorney's Office in Chicago. Don't believe the "Great company" phony reviews, I bet they are disguised employees of the company acting in furtherance of their fraudulent conduct. This company needs to be shut down.

I have had a number of problems now with reverb. An empty box arriving at my door, false trademarks on amplifiers, and now an amp with no protection in a box to small showing up with broken switches and no power. Each time a refund has been like pulling teeth. This time they finally provoked a review by outright lyiing to me about our earlier conversations and procrastinating beyond their five day resolution "guarantee." I'm done with the site. BUYER BEWARE

Sold an item and they refuse to give me my money. No customer support, just a chat bot that does nothing but say "we're looking into it". It has been 19days from the date of sale, and 12 days since the item was delivered to the buyer. Reverb is holding my money for no reason, making interest on it, while some guy across the country is enjoying my item.

Reverb absolutely refuses to protect their customers. Recently, I made a purchase of a very high-value flute on their website. I made an offer which the seller accepted within a matter of minutes, and then I paid in full within 10 minutes of the offer having been accepted. Three days (two business days) later, I had heard nothing from the seller, so I sent a message asking which carrier would be used to ship the flute, and if a signature would be required upon delivery so I could coordinate my work schedule to be home if I needed to sign for the flute. No response. The next day (three business days after the sale), I sent another message requesting a status update as well as a tracking number. This was done in compliance with Reverb's published guidelines on how to communicate with a seller when an item hasn't been received; they state that a request for a status update should be sent 3 business days following the sale if no communication has been received. I again received no message back from the seller, but he did upload the tracking number and immediately awarded me 3 stars for feedback (out of 5 possible). I messaged him thanking him for providing the tracking number, and then asked why I received 3 stars for feedback. No response. I waited a day and messaged him again, requesting that he reconsider the feedback he had left for me (outlining all that I said above, making it clear that I was following established Reverb guidelines for the timing of communicating with sellers), or provide me with a rationale for why the low feedback score was given and then allow me to correct any "issue" I might not be aware of. Again, nothing. No acknowledgement of the message. So I contacted Reverb asking if they would reach out to the seller to request that he consider revising his feedback, or update it to reflect a more positive experience - as I had done absolutely nothing wrong to warrant a low feedback score. I gave the seller thousands of dollars and then had to wait several days for a tracking number to be provided (which I had to essentially force out of him), only to be awarded 3 stars following radio silence throughout the entire transaction. Reverb said they could not request that the seller revise his feedback. I made a second request, indicating that I would have my account deactivated if I had zero recourse other than to leave a rebuttal on the feedback he had arbitrarily and/or capriciously left for me. Again, Reverb refused to get involved. My account has now been deactivated per my request because I refuse to allow myself to be associated with any online marketplace where such horrible practices are allowed to occur. Keep in mind I have over 1,650 positive reviews (100%) spanning over 23 years on another popular online marketplace, which actually goes to bat for its members when something fraudulent or unethical takes place. My advice (like so many others on here): Stay FAR, FAR AWAY from Reverb. If you are trying to establish an online gear shop, you have literally no way to protect yourself from predatory members who are in no way held accountable for the reviews they are allowed to leave for others. It took just 6 transactions for me to get burned. I'm not hanging around for a 7th.

Hello, It has come to my attention that Reverb is running what I would call a scam. If you do not purchase their Safe Shipping and still purchase the label through Reverb you are not eligible to file a claim if your package is damged. You are not eleible to file a claim through Reverb or with the carrier. Thats crazy IMHO I sold a guitar that was packed very well and it arrived damaged to the buyer. Of course he wants to return it. I am stuck with a damaged guitar with no recourse. Reverb customer service is non existant. I scheduled a call with them and 15 minutes before the call was to happen it was canceled by Reverb. Not sure how you can offer shipping with a carrier and refuse the benifits. Has anyone else had this issue with Reverb?

I posted a graphic equalizer. I've sold scores of items in the past. The site gave me an outrageous shipping cost, more than what I was charging for the equalizer. I was told by chat or email that they no longer talk to people. You either work out you issue by email or you get nothing. I cancelled the transaction and will find another place to buy and sell.

Posted 4 vintage guitars on this SCAM site.. After 2 weeks NOTHING but scammers trying to steal your personal formation WITH REVERB MANAGEMENT HELP.. ! I sold a guitar and it turned out to be a scam WITH THE HELP OF REVERB management. They RIPPED me off for $400... Then said oh sorry.. We'll "Look into" getting you the money back that WE STOLE FROM YOU.... Yes not one word not one dollar. This site is COMPLETE SCAM as the one STAR rating shows. As other posters say they encourage FAKE and ID THEIFS because without them the site would be a ghost town. Ex employee told me they need them because they are over 80% of the user base and Reverb caters to them... BE WARNED. I now know from experience and am out $400... don't make my mistake!!

I will not deal with Reverb again if at all possible. They have not transferred my payment in over a good week. My sale went smooth with my buyer but Reverb does not send the payment!!!! Terrible service. If I could give a zero I would gladly do that.

Customer service is awful. I returned a guitar. The seller told reverb that the seller received the guitar back. The seller wanted to refund me. But reverb would not allow it until I provided pictures of the guitar, that I no longer had! They won’t connect you to a supervisor. They just hang up on you when you call the number. They disconnect the chat without answering your questions.

If you are thinking of dealine with Reverb; think again and then DON'T! THey make no effort to verify the quality or condition of the equipment/products they sell and when the equipment proves defective they do absolutely nothing to correct the situation. I Placed an order with “Reverb” for a Sony DAT recorder/player. In the seller’s listing, it specifically stated that 'I...plugged a lo-z mic into the XLR inputs, set the record level at 4, started recording and proceeded to "sing" into the mic continuously. It did an excellent job at recording & playing back." I purchased the unit based on the seller's description of the it as a working machine. Once the order was delivered, I spent most of that day and evening attempting to play already recorded tapes and make new recordings. It was obvious that the tape deck mechanism was NOT WORKING; it would neither play tapes with existing content nor would it record new or playback new content. This would have been obvious to the seller had he actually tried to record/play as was described in the his listing. That same night I requested a refund through the “Reverb” customer service website and immediately received email from “Reverb” denying my refund request. I replied to “Reverb” describing the problem again and was told to contact the seller directly. I made several attempts to contact the seller through “Reverb’s” website. with the seller makien no attempt to reply. I then reversed the charges with my bank...weeks later, I start getting emails from "Reverb support" essentially demanding that I order my bank to pay. Perhaps I've just been lucky but i've bought and sold audio/music equipment for many, many years...new and used...from a varitey of businesses...before Reverb, I've never dealt with a company who seem purposely oblivious the the concept of customer service. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T DEAL WITH REVERB!!!
