CURIOUS! Unlike other courier companies that manage to ring the door bell and give me the parcel, Royal mail seem hell bent on just posting a card through the door asking you to collect the parcel?! I have been home for the 4 Royal Mail "Deliveries" when a card has simply been posted through the letter box - I know this to be true as I receive Amazon packages daily and when I answer the door to everyone else there is a Royal Mail MISSED red card lying on the door mat. The fact that I am house bound is why I know of any visitor and there is a good reason why I need things delivered to my door - If I could easily pop out to the shops (or the post office to collect what I asked to be delivered to my home) then I would! What is the point of DELIVERY when you have to collect it???!!! This is not a reflection on Royal mail but lazy delivery drivers who just 'card it'...

Tracking is hopeless. It's amusing that people seem to think this is still a public company. This is privatisation at work.

Packages just are not being delivered. Over the last few weeks items coming through Newcastle Staffs sorting office are missing. I have had suppliers re sent only for those never to arrive. Spoke to a postman who said that they were so overwhelmed that they were only delivering tracked items. Some of my items are over 2 weeks late. Contacting Royal Mail is hopeless I spent 30 minutes on the phone yesterday but no answer. Will try to buy in future from sources who dont use Royal Mail deliveries.

Nothing but hassle from royal mail, first they persist to break my catflap by putting items through it (have been informed by the customer care team that this is no OK and should not be happening I can only hope this has been risen with management so this can be dealt with) but yet after several times it continues. Missing items I have purchased but haven't turned up at the local post office for collection, very disappointed with the service recently. Two stars given as the customer service team have been a great help. I hate to complain as I feel if the job was done correctly it would save a lot of time.

A parcel sent to me was not delivered on time and I have spent the best part of an hour waiting for someone to answer the telephone. Why customers should tolerate this automated telephone system is beyond me. In the days when I could ring my local sorting office it would have taken 5 minutes to answer my question instead of half a day. I understand from customer service that this is due to volume but something needs to be done to avoid customers having to spend so much time waiting for their calls to be answered.

Sent a small package to Canada using the International Tracking service costing around £9. Excellent tracking available with good detail of the location of the parcel up to the point of departure from the U.K. After that absolutely nothing!!!! Very disappointing and not what we thought we were paying for. Package took 10 working days to arrive and not the advertised 5-7.

Royal Mail redelivery terrible.I use a wheelchair, work and can't drive I live in a bock of flats. Please make it easier to leave the parcel in a safe place eg inside the building flats or ask again if I want it left with a neighbour.Automated call too long and after several attempts a little annoying.Employ more staff to anwer your call.Going on line not much help either

I live in a third floor flat with a lift. I am in a wheelchair and use of one arm only. Since I moved here the postman. Has always brought packages that don’t fit in communial letter boxes in to the eight individual flats. Last week he rang my bell and asked me to go down the three floors to sign for and pick up three packages. I explained it was difficult and would he bring it up. He was showing a new postlady the round and they used the stairs. I was waiting with my door open and heard them discussing the situation. The postman told the lady although it was not normally done it was a difficult situation and they had to be a little bit understanding. When they reached my door I then told him it was difficult for me to go down to him. In fact he would have had to wait at least three minutes before I could get myself down. He told me he was no insured to come in the building and the letter box wad his point of delivery but if my letter box was in my front door he would bring it up! His training paid off as this last week the new post lady bent a large thick envelope in half and pushed it in the letter box, ripping the envelope and spoiling the contents in the process. On another day she gained access and left a box on the floor in the commial hall where anyone could have taken it. The other postman have always brought things like that to my door and all the other flats. Guess Royal Mail not disability friendly!

I tracked my parcel online showed delivered but I didn’t get it and no card was left. They send letter to apologise can’t do anything as the system shows delivered and person who delivered didn’t recall. I appreciate that but still I didn’t get it

I am fed up of rude postmen and women. More that one I have waited in for a parcel. They have walked past my front door. ( I have witnessed this) . They have gone to the neighbours houses. Then gone to my door and put a card through the letter box saying that they called, but nobody was in. I have said that you never knocked on my door. The postman got very aggressive and was very rude. Royal mail is a joke.

Regular as clockwork with late and lost deliveries. Ridiculous ques in post office branches. Cannot understand how the survive with this total contempt of customers. Now signed for is a meaningless waste of time when postman can use neighbour of his discretion to leave your stuff with and find them not home for days AND is number 65 close to 100. I could go on.............

Royal Mail should not be using GLS when parcels are sent from the UK to Portugal as all the parcels go missing. Even lost my renewed passport. Disgusting service.

It often takes several days to receive post that we know has been sent to us first class mail. It is unusual to get our mail delivery before 2pm. Several times recently, there has been no delivery at all, followed by a day when we get a big bundle of mail - ie several days worth. Meanwhile the price of sending mail is rocketing and if you don't take out additional insurance, some local post office staff turn very nasty.

45 min From Bishop Aucklands to Newcastle. Delivery by Royal Mail on this distance is two days. In the Saxon Age was faster.
