Tl;dr: Do you already love japanese flavors/snacks? Redbean, matcha, and sakura your go-to everyday flavors? Does the added shipping not bother you? This box is for you! I tried three boxes and all of them were OKAY. Each box had at least one thing I really loved and one thing I had to spit out. Most items are good, with a decent variety. For the Sakura and Mochi box the fish wafer came broken, as did my friend who was also getting the box (super disappointing since it was a really odd and new sort of item to try). The three boxes I got had a sort of same-y issue, where there were starting be some staple items and flavors like monokas (the wafers taste gross and the filling can be good or bad. The sweet soysauce one was disgusting, some of them the wafers fall to pieces and others can be (enjoyably) eaten like an oreo) Three boxes in a row really pushed sakura as a flavor (to which I can say typically tasted like literally nothing but smelled nice) As well as red bean paste. Let me tell you, I don't hate red bean paste. It's. . .fine, in moderation. But I can't eat it by the spoonful and there was so much of it in these boxes. I know it's a Japanese dessert staple but I would have liked some more variation on flavor. Everything fish flavored was not my cup of tea, though. Fortunately only the first box seemed to push it. Now for the best part of these boxes. The creme de la creme, the top of the top; it's kinako. It basically tastes like unsweet peanut butter and these boxes encouraged me to purchase an entire bag of the stuff. I can now have kinako for everything. Put it on ice cream. Put it on mochi. Consume it sprinkled on PB&J, put it into your chocolate chip cookie batter. Go ham, the stuff is amazing. Now price. The price is fine. . .before shipping. Once you include shipping the price becomes a little steep. Almost 50$ per a box (in my case) with about 30$-40$ worth of product inside. So yeah, not great, but not awful. Lets talk about non food. The plate was super cute, and I use it as a nice trinket dish. The cup was equally cute, matched the plate and is not good for hot liquids at all. I burned my hands trying to drink tea out of this cup, and it sweated bullets when I put juice and some ice in it later. Still adorable. Then there's the bowl. The bowl is plastic, and small. It's a decent ice cream bowl or rice bowl. It's also apparently edible and contains wheat, milk, soy, and egg allergens according to the booklet. I haven't attempted to consume my bowl. Someone please tell me if the plastic bowl is tasty. Tea. Box 1: Salt water. Box 2: Soup broth. Box 3: Normal?? I haven't tried the third tea yet, I'm almost afraid. The first two boxes seemed to prioritize pretty tea over drinkable tea. The soup broth one was fine, but I wish someone would have warned me. Misc grievances: The booklet didn't tell me the rice paper was edible in box 2. Would have been nice to know, the mochi was delicious but I didn't realize the rice paper it was stuck to could be eaten. Overall: The experience was fun, I enjoyed it. Sure there's a lot of complaining here but at the end of the day only one or two items went uneaten from most of the three boxes I got. 50$ is just a bit too much for me (After shipping) though, especially if some boxes will have a third or more of the content be a miss. I don't like monokas, or fish flavored things, and I prefer my red bean paste in moderation which at the end of the day means I'd personally rather save my money. I do think this box is for some people though, and those people will adore it. Overall I'll continue following what comes out of these boxes to (hopefully) see a larger variety of flavor as the seasons change and likely only subscribe here or there for one time purchases.

There is a nice variety of desserts and I felt like it was worth the money. I was a little disappointed that the blowfish wafers came completely destroyed since it was like a centerpiece of the box (you're supposed to punch a little hole in it and submerge it in the tea that came with it). I know it's inevitable to have some delicate things get broken in transit, but maybe they could've packed it better. The booklet is nice quality and explains everything in detail.

I like having adult themed treats. I like most treats except for the monaka wafers. The wafers taste like something burnt. I would give it a 5 stars, but those wafers were put in the first 3 boxes. I hope that does not continue. More variety would help as well. But over all, I like it.

I loved the majority of the sweets, the tea was an expiernce, brewing instructions would have been helpful. Other than that it was very lovely.

The treats are amazing and the booklet is so nice for explaining everything. I makes me wish I was back in Japan each month so I could pick up these treats myself!

Great responses via social media, friendly and inviting company. For all the goodies recieved and no to mention it's coming internationally it's very fairly priced. Don't miss out

I just got my first box and everything is amazing so far except when I opened my box and went through the booklet, I could not find one of the items that it said was supposed to be in the box.

I love Matcha. Especially the quality Matcha which the colour, the smell and the taste are attracted me. Title in this month is Matcha, means that I can find lot of my favourite items in the box and enjoy a wonderful in the month.

Everything about this box is cute, fun and yummy. I enjoy so many of the treats I used to have while I lived in japan and it makes me so happy to get to see some of them every month. My only *not even* complaint about the box is that I wish they would change from monaka’s in every box! Either way I’m happy to receive these treats (even when the poor blowfish is a little smashed);)

The snacks were amazing. This is my second box and DHL delivery was pretty fast. The only really complain about this month box is that the Fukuruko Shiruko, a fish shape wafer was broken but everything seemed great.

Just started receiving this delightful new subscription box, having had Yume Twins now for over a year, the treats are delicious as is the tea, mostly vegetarian-friendly as well, with a mixture of salty and sweet (though mostly sweet!) snacks - I get bonus items each month for subscribing for the whole year, definitely worth it and something we look forward to! Only reason four stars instead of five, the second box didn't have much tea, and some of the snacks have a coating that my child describes as being like styrofoam (I don't mind it as much, but she is a little bit correct).

This is the first box that I bought in, I've been wanting to buy a Japanese treat box for a very long time years even. I feel so welcomed by the message in this box and it's items. This will not be my last purchase from them, I'm planning on buying more boxes as the months passed. I got my money's worth in the product sent but what really makes me happy is the whole experience, thank you.

Extremely fast delivery with DHL. The box is pretty and the selection rather nice. I love the pamphlet in it that describes everything and state allergies, it's a nice touch. Only complains this month is that my fukuruko shiruko was completely smashed. Too fragile a product to withstand the long trip to Canada. In the end, it would have been in that state so it won't remove from the taste but I would have loved to see it whole at least once ;)

It’s literally so amazing and above every other Japanese snack box. The snacks here are so amazing and you can tell the difference between these types of snacks vs something like Tokyo treat where they send you pretty much convenience store snack. Sakuraco snacks are fancier. And I absolutely love the mug and the bowl I’ve gotten in the boxes. I love the book with the information about the snacks I love learning about true history of them and the culinary team and everything is so awesome.

The authentic Japanese sweets are awesome. The service is very good and price is ok. Only the delivery cost is a bit high but for this high quality is it OK. Thank you for your hard work.

The themes they have each month are very immersive and the variety of items they give that correlate with the theme is fantastic. The treats are amazing, I never thought I would be a “traditional snack lover” but this box completely changed my mind! Not all of them are winners, but it’s awesome to try so many different traditional treats! I also love how the booklet they give you has so much information about the treats, the themes, and the area the items are coming from. Overall, I really love these boxes and I have to figure out a way to get more of these traditional sweets!
