“I’ve had two boxes come in so far, April and May, and my experiences have been phenomenal for both! Boxes shipped very quickly relative to other subscription boxes I’ve tried (Bokksu), with much more thorough tracking, and the packaging for both the box and all the snacks is absolutely beautiful! My only gripe is that some of the more delicate snacks, mainly the monaka, have come broken to bits. It’s an understandable issue considering it shipped all the way from Japan to California, but an issue I would like to see resolved in the future nonetheless. I was a bit skeptical about the pricing (particularly the shipping since Bokksu had free shipping), but seeing just how much time and effort was put into the curation and aesthetics of not only the snacks themselves, but also the informative booklet and the website, I have to say it’s worth it! (Especially since there is one non-snack item in every box!)
Personally I enjoyed all the snacks I’ve tried so far with the exception of the golden plum tea. While beautiful, it wasn’t sweet/sour like the booklet led me to believe. It tasted rather like soup! Not a terrible experience, but I definitely would have enjoyed it more had I not been expecting something sweet :)”

“I really enjoyed the assortment of traditional snacks including the tea, as they are very hard to come by where I live. The flavours are unlike anything I have tried before but nevertheless very impressive (both in flavour and in texture). A highlight of this box is the carefully thought through traditional Japanese home goods that come with each box!!! They are good in quality and have pretty designs. Although this is only the second box in the series, the most recent theme "Matcha Moments' is my favourite so far.
Although the shipping isn't free at the moment because of COVID-19, the shipping process is very smooth and quick, tracking is provided at every stage and great care has been taken delivering my boxes. Even the most delicate snacks did not arrive in crumbs. I was also pleased with the customer service as they provided me with excellent help. I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to future themes and would definitely recommend subscribing!”

“I have been looking for a box like this for a long time! I absolutely love Japanese treats but they are near-impossible to find in my country, and even then they are often mass-produced and very processed.
This box has a fantastic selection of treats, including some I didn't even know existed! I love that they use independent shops and bakeries to source their snacks, and the booklet contains a piece about one of the makers each month, as well as allergen info, some history related to the box, and details about each snack!
I received my second box "Matcha Moments" yesterday and I am already in love, each box comes with so many sweet treats and some savoury bites, and the portion sizes are perfect for a treat with a cup of tea!
The permanent item with each box really seals the deal for me, the Sakura plate from the first box and the matching cup in the second are really beautiful pieces!

“This is the most beautiful curated box of Japenese snacks I have ever purchased. My box came beautifully packaged, very carefully intact. The box itself is so pretty, i dont want to throw it out. When you open it, a postcard welcomes you, along with a beautifully detailed booklet of the current month's theme (so far I have April 2021), from the history of the Japanese tea ceremony, to the beautiful pictures of the snacks and their explanation. I mean every penny is worth it. Its beautifully curated, and picked with intention. Some of these snacks are picked from local vendors in Japan, so you know you're getting authenticity while learning more about the Japanese culture and some of their snacks, tastes and flavors.
There was a particular part in the pamphlet where sakuraco asks Aziroan if they had a message for the Sakuraco family and they very sweetly said ".....We've put our heart into making our signature kintsuba, and we hope that people all over the world will be able to feel the emotion, putting a smile on their face."
To me, I think that just makes trying the matcha kintsuba that much sweeter & thought sakuraco adding that message from the makers was such a genuine touch.
This is unlike any other Japanese snack curated box. Its a much refined, elegant, yet fun & lovely subscription box.
