I couldn't stop thinking about the cute sakura yunomi, so I bought myself a three months subscription to try it out.
The cup is super cute, and ever so slightly bigger than I expected (still very tiny).
I haven't tried every single snack yet, as I'm rationing them so I don't run out very soon, but everything I've tried has been the perfect amount of sweet. It's not the level of sweet America tends to enjoy, which is exactly as I'd hoped. American sweets are far too sweet in all the wrong ways. But these? They're delicious just as they are. I get to taste the flavors instead of "just sugar".
I'm also pretty excited that this is more of a "tea" snack themed box, as opposed to "a bunch of random stuff". Not only so far has it let me try a new kind of tea, but the everything to eat is themed towards tea.”

“The products included in the box (and the amazingly fast shipping) were great. I got to try a lot of things I never would have thought to pick out for myself (I loved the plum tea) and they were all neatly packaged, with a handy little booklet to describe not only the treats, but suggested pairings and how best to enjoy them, as well as cultural history. There was enough of each product to let you really get a taste for it, and honestly the value for the cost of the actual box seemed great. I'm wasn't happy with the way they more or less seem to slip the very high shipping cost into the subscription almost too late to notice. Honestly, if they just included that in the box pricing and said shipping was 'free' it would still feel like a good value and wouldn't feel quite so much like a trap.”
“I was super excited to receive my Sakura box for April so I was very disappointed to have my expectations not met. The tea from my box was super salty and tasted like seaweed and it was not enjoyable. Half the treats in my box was stale and I couldn't properly due to the tea being awful. I wanted to try out Sakuraco since I'm happily subscribed to the Tokyo Treat box. So I was extremely disappointed that i couldn't enjoy the Sakura box as well. I would understand if the tea was bitter because of no added sugars, but for it to be salty? That was unacceptable to me.”

Still very high quality so I send 3month gift subscription box to my daughters. They received April box and they told me it's so many items in Box. Yes, they are right, I received it the next day and surprised me that there were much more sweets than March box. I am so happy to order this subscription box for a year to myself. I'm Japanese old mama, I know good Japanese sweets very well. They did a pretty good job of collecting good real Japanese sweets in this box. Booklet is very nice too. It's beautiful and describes very well what we get and where it comes from. Also talk about Japanese culture and history. I highly recommend this subscription box for everyone.
