SAMi® is a video-based sleep activity monitor for parents, caregivers and individuals that need to watch carefully for unusual movements at night. SAMi can detect and alarm on all types of movement, with settings that can be easily customized to your individual needs. “I witnessed my daughter having seizures in her sleep and shortly after waking up this past February. After an ER visit and an overnight stay at our local children’s hospital with a normal EEG, we were told by the attending neurologist that it was likely she did not have real seizures, and it probably wouldn’t happen again. I believed differently from what I saw and or daughter reported. I started researching cameras that could record her if she had more episodes. I came across SAMi. We purchased and set up. Sure enough our daughter continued to have more seizures that SAMi recorded. We were able to share with the neurology staff. During a stay in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, the epileptologist reviewed the videos, along with other medical information, and he was able to accurately diagnose our daughter with focal epilepsy and begin her on anti seizure medication. Thank you to SAMi for helping us to provide video evidence to the physicians. It lead us to the proper diagnosis, which we suspected all along at the onset of our journey.”

“The SAMi has given us the parents another tool to monitor seizures at night while the kiddo is sleeping. If this unit is set up properly to read your child’s body movements it truly gives you a peace of mind. The SAMi has woken both parents up with seizure alarm when it has occurred during sleeping and is truly a god send.”

“I purchased the Sami about 1 year ago since it seems to be the only camera that can assist in tracking any possible night seizures . This gives me some peace of mind when I’m not in the same room and the ability to track the duration and assess these random occurrences. Definitely something to have if your family is going through such events”

“This camera hands down is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! My daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy at 14 months old. My world was turned upside down and I was so afraid to not be in the same room when she napped because that's when her seizures we're happening. Then we found the SAMi. It is truly worth every penny! This camera alerts us when there is possible seizure activity or when there is a lot of motion. In fact one night around 11pm the camera alerted us that my daughter was having a seizure and we were able to help her and also later show the neurologist the recording. Unfortunately she has several different types of seizures but everytime she has a seizure she is looking to the right so we know the seizure is starting from the left side of her brain. The picture quality is phenomenal you are able to zoom in and out and all the settings are easy to adjust to what you feel is necessary as far volume, and sensitivity. This camera has given us greater piece of mind when my daughter is sleeping in the crib. We have also traveled with this camera on overnight trips. It is straight forward and simple to set up. And I seriously can't imagine what I would do without this camera! I HIGHLY recommend this camera!!!!!”

“Camera quality is very clear! The recordings are super helpful to review my son’s night. Still working on the thresholds as the camera picks up every movement which is great for safety but not great if the alarm is going off for a fly. We feel our son is safer with the SAMi”

“The SAMi has truly been a life saver from when we first received it 4 years ago and especially now. Our daughter is currently 18 and her seizures has worsened. With the Sami she can have independence to sleep on her own and we as her parents can have peace of mind knowing we can effectively monitor her (see/hear) at night.”

“We love SAMi and all its features! Having a daughter whose seizures are mainly nocturnal has been hard as a parent. You want to be in the know of what is going on through the night with your child and have the assurance that you aren’t miss anything. Being able to make settings catered to our situation is incredibly helpful. Also having the footage to show doctors has been pivotal for us to truly explain what things really look like through the night and how often. I also love that this isn’t a monthly subscription. There are already so many financial hardships to go through and to have footage and documentation without having to pay monthly is a blessing. We definitely sleep a lot better knowing we have the right resources to assist our 12 year old by allowing her to have her own space in her room but also allowing us to monitor her nocturnal epilepsy.”

“Our neurologist recommended the SAMi camera to us to rule out epilepsy. My daughter was having some abnormal facial movements while sleeping paired with a questionable EEG. The camera gave me so much peace of mind. I did have to play with the sensitivity alarm a bit only bc my daughters movements were smaller facial movements. Would recommend to anyone!”

“This product is a life saver. I can know sleep at night and my son be safe. Used to have a lot of sleepless nights. The peace of mind that the Sami gives my family is life changing. It is simple to use and install. The app is amazing as well. Sami makes everything simple so that you don’t have to worry about installation or how to use it. My son 10 is know able to sleep in his room alone with out mom or dad hovering over him to make sure he is not seizing at night.”

“The SAMi is very alert and also gives flexibility and options. I can hear sound or turn it off. Schedule times. Very clear picture. Even after years. We have a wonderful tech support family who helps when they can. I still have to figure out how to connect so I can show or email videos to our neurologist. Also wish there was a more secure network , even though it is a separate network to run it on. Don’t even want to think if anybody has tried to ever hack into it. Since we are watching our 16 year old, it seems very invasive, but unfortunately necessary to keep him safe and alive. Currently watching and listening for certain symptoms to decide if certain tests are necessary. All in all the SAMi 3 has been a game changer. It was our first support and peace of mind while also waiting for a Service Dog. Before SAMi 3 I have slept every night on the floor next to my son’s bed , if there was sleep to be had. I think it makes us all feel safer and gives us an opportunity to get a little sleep. I was finally able to sleep or be in my own bed while having the SAMi watch him and at the very least I could close my eyes and rest in between events. I would recommend to everyone in need of health monitoring who may need this for support, peace of mind. It is an absolute necessity item. A Service Dog is not for everyone, as it takes a lot of work and we are 2 caretakers on one patient. But the SAMi doesn’t need much work at all after the initial set up. If you can make the set up and settings a little easier (I have still not figured out how to set the time or date, we received it preprogrammed through a grant) THANK YOU , SAMi 3 for keeping my son alive and providing him help immediately when he needs it and giving us some relief during this dreaded and scary disease. Also, we have an iPod as Monitor, sometimes I wish the picture was a little bit bigger , like a tablet.”
