Warning to those who have purchased a laptop being advertised as having an "exclusive upgraded". I placed an order for an MSI Leopard Pro which had an exclusive upgrade of 16GB from 8GB and paid extra for Saturday delivery to ensure I was at home to receive it. The laptop arrived on the date expected. When starting the laptop up for the first time I was unable to connect to the Wi-Fi in my flat, after checking device manager I noticed the Wi-Fi adapter would crash which forced me to re-install the driver by downloading it to another device. I didn’t see this as much of an issue even though it clearly stated on my invoice that the product would come with a “memory upgrade and testing”, so I proceeded to fix it and carry on with my initial checks on the laptop. I went on to check the system information and to my surprise found the laptop showing only 8GB of installed RAM instead of 16GB. I immediately attempted to call Saveonlaptops but was unable to get through as it was the weekend, so I sent an email instead. Knowing it was a bank holiday weekend I gave a few days for a response before emailing again, this time I received a response. The reply was as follows: “I have checked our records and I can see that your unit was upgraded with the necessary RAM before it was despatched to you. It is possible that the RAM has come unseated in transit. Would it be possible, if you feel confident to do so, for you to open the service hatch on the base of the unit and check that the RAM is seated correctly. If you are not confident to do this, please let me know and I can advise you further on how to return the unit to us for one of our engineers to do it.” I considered the suggestion of checking if the RAM had been dislodged but this would have required me to remove the shell from the bottom of the laptop and would probably have made my warranty void. After the experience I’ve had, I am certain Saveonlaptops would have rejected responsibility had I done this and would have refused to repair the laptop. Thus, I requested a return via the website which was simple enough. Having chased up the company a few times I was told the item had been with an engineer and that it had now been upgraded to the correct RAM with no further information. I went to ask for further details and was told the following: “I have just spoke to my engineer regarding your unit. He did say this was not opened previously & the ram was missing and not put in to the unit so please accept our apologies regarding this. The engineer has put the ram in to the unit & the unit has been factory reset. There should be no issues with your item once you receive this.” I was left feeling frustrated as I was sold a product that had been advertised as upgraded and tested when in fact neither had taken place. Had I not checked the system information and blindly trusted the seller I would have oblivious to the fact the RAM was missing. I believe had the product been tested both the issue with the Wi-Fi adapter and missing RAM would have been picked up. For the return, I’d requested weekend delivery again as I had paid for it previously. I was told that it will be sent as requested as a courtesy. Having been told the laptop would be arriving on a Saturday I went to work as I would normally the next day (Friday) only to find an email from the Saveonlaptops customer service representative who had previously confirmed Saturday delivery now telling me it will be delivered on Monday. A few minutes prior to this I received an email and text message from DPD stating that my laptop was out for delivery for today (Friday). After receiving the email I again asked the same customer service representative what the actual delivery date was and was told it was in fact Friday which meant I had to leave work early to receive the item between 3:45pm – 4:45pm. After receiving the delivery, I started the laptop up this time to find that a check and repair was required on the C: drive (SSD). After doing this I found that again the Wi-Fi adapter was corrupted and needed to be re-installed but the RAM was upgraded successfully. I informed the Sales Manager of the case and the most recent issues as I was disappointed with what had happened. To this date, not only have I not been refunded the delivery charges (despite being told I would by the customer service representative) I have now been told by the sales manager that “as per our terms and conditions of sale we do not offer compensation for consequential loss”. I have now gone on to leave a review in case this has happened to anyone else. Also, if you have ever purchased an “exclusive upgrade” laptop from the seller then make sure you check your laptops/PC’s System Information to ensure you have received the upgrade you paid for. I am concerned for the number of customers who may have purchased an upgrade and have been sent the wrong item without their knowledge.

Terrible company and terrible customer service bought a laptop which said it had a dedicated 2gb graphics card! It came with 1gb and the completely different hard drive and because I didn't open it till xmas they would not replace it or do a refund or anything! Hope this will stop people from using this company cod if they make a mistake or there's a problem. They definitely won't help! Shocking service

Brought a cub laptop from save on laptops and wouldn't buy again. Battery has stopped charging after owning it for just 2 months. Also overheats quickly, also cube logo on front of laptop peeled off, I guess you pay for what you get. Would avoid buying this product again.

Laptop arrived on Monday, mousepad was dead. Called Asus who confirmed it was a hardware issue and to send it back. Laptop picked up on Friday and delivered back to Saveonlaptops the following Monday. It is now the Friday after and it still hasn't been booked into the workshop. I cannot have a refund / credit note until it is booked in and even then it can be upto 7 working days before a decision is made. Told them to leave a note on the system I do not want the laptop back as I now want a refund rather than waiting another week or more to get a replacement from them as that is an unacceptable length of time. Off to PC World to pick up a new one now.

Had to threaten to go to trading standards to get them to respond to my queries about my DOA laptop. Service was great until something went wrong, do business at your own risk I suppose.

When my laptop arrived it was broken and didn't even turn on!!! Took absolutely ages and so many procedures just to send it back... After about a month of going through so many steps I eventually got my money back. Such a waste of time.. Don't even bother buying anything from here!!!

I've had over 5 laptops from Save on laptops and each one performed near perfect. I've recently completed a purchase of the Triton 500 and boy oh boy is this a beefy gaming laptop.

Speedy delivery until the item arrives DOA (dead on arrival) then they expect you to contact the manufacturer and liaise with them direct ( ignoring Consumer Rights Act 2015 ) Manufacturer agree the item is faulty (broken display vertical lines) we then arrange a RMA with saveonlaptops with the manufacturers code and await return shipping at which point they say the original packaging isn't suitable to return the item in! over a week has passed and still no working laptop or apology or refund. i would class this service as very poor. PRICE ISNT EVERYTHING..

Still waiting for the order dispatched 20/02/2018. Sent in 2 separate deliveries, which wasn't mentioned and received only one. More anticipated item without tracking number or delivery company name. Flagged up broken intercom, been waiting now 2 days for a tracking number, delivery most likely will go back to the sender and will create only more issues. Poor help with resolving a problem.

WORST customer service I've ever seen !!! I've order a laptop that was 'exclusive upgraded to 16GB RAM'. The laptop I received was a used one, had a scratch on it, fingerprints, AC power cord unfolded and dirty, box was damaged, the protective bag was ripped. Anyway, as the aftersales and returns department is only email based support, I've managed to get in touch with one agent and explained the situation. A return has been processed and laptop sent back. After sending the laptop back, I've checked the progress and saw when they got it. The status was saying that it might take up to 7 working days to asses the product. I've sent them an email and asked to process this as soon as possible as a week passed already and I was not making use of the laptop I've ordered. In my email, I also specifically said that I'm not looking for a refund as the laptop was purchased through finance. I've asked them to send me a replacement one or the 8GB RAM model which should be new and sealed. At no point I've asked for a refund. Of course, my email was overlooked, as the customer support agent confirmed when I got in touch with them, and they processed a refund without even asking what I prefer, resulting in my finance agreement being cancelled. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND BOX.CO.UK, which is the same!!!

Time taken to deliver despite paying for next day delivery. Unit not working on receipt- told to contact manufacturers for advice as I'm probably doing it wrong. Told to return immediately by them. Took 3 DAYS to get acceptance for return. Phone access is appalling and attitude to customers beyond disgusting. Threats of a £170 fee if unit found to be working! No record of serial number wanted. Told cannot cancel, despite 14 legal consumer opt out! Cannot garantee it will not take less than 10 days to send replacement- pushing time over the 14 days opt out. So far not impressed, made to feel imcompetent, money not good enough and my need for working equipment is secondary to their needs for sales/ profits. Will not use again- EVER

Miss soled a laptop due to incorrect specifications on website, whole experience of returning and receiving money is disastrous. They only communicate via email normally taking 24 hours to respond if they bother to respond, though they don’t work weekends or bank holidays so sometimes take a lot longer. So far trying to get money back from them after they admit to a mistake takes around 4 weeks.

Nice laptop, happy with product until it went wrong, after sales customer care is really bad. There is no direct contact number unless you are purchasing. Email contact is poor and takes days to get a response, and to be told our engineer will contact you......still waiting

I ordered an Asus Transformer Book T100TAF-W10-DK076T for an elderly friend specifically because in the description it states: "Integrated Dual Webcam with Microphone", which is confirmed by the photos of the product which clearly show a camera in the front & back of the screen. When it arrived it only had the forward facing camera which I queried with customer services. I was informed that "Integrated Dual Webcam with Microphone" actually means one webcam integrated with the microphone. When I responded that in that case the description should read, "integrated webcam & microphone" and that the photos clearly show a camera in the back of the screen I was informed that yes, that was the one webcam referred to. When I responded that the photos also clearly showed a forward facing webcam I was informed that, " I have double checked with both the product manager for this item and with our technicians and this item has not been miss-listed" & asked to return the item for a refund. To be clear, my issue is not with the product quality, which is very good, but by the fact that, in my view, it is misleadingly advertised & described and with the obvious attempts by this company's customer service department to fob me off with a number of implausible explanations & excuses. Check it out yourself & tell me if I'm wrong because it's possibly me who doesn't understand written English.

They took 25% out of my money when I returned the laptop as faulty and they claimed it wasn't. Despite my please they didn't do a full refund so I didn't get the laptop and also lost 25%, so be careful before buying. Another worst thing is that when they want to get money from you (sales, pre-sales) they are available on phone, but for returns it is only via email, so make it slower and painful.

I ordered a Grade A product described as in very good condition, on arrival there was a deep scratch on the screen, I immediately contacted Customer Service, I sent photos and I requested a return. It took over 24 hours to reply, they failed to send shipping label yet claimed it was attached to the e-mail and they then failed to respond to telephone calls or e-mails subsequently, I have now returned the machine at my own cost. Upon further investigation directly with ACER it transpires that the laptop was already over 12 months old and had already been repaired by them - all this for a £20 discount against original list price? Very poor value and I now await my refund.

Sent back unopened, tried to claim it hadn't arrived then said 3 days after it did. Finally admitted it had arrived on the correct day. Still awaiting refund 10 days later due to "short staffing". Manager apparently cannot use a phone - was told this! Email team being deliberately evasive and my account still shows item not received back. Not sure I'll get a refund without involving trading standards

I was a bit wary of buying from an online company I haven't dealt with before but these guys are great. The website filtering for laptop spec was excellent and I found the right spec at a competitive price. Delivery was on time and DPD left it secure with a neighbour. Laptop is excellent and as I expected. Bullguard security that came with it is also pretty good as well. Seems to run better than the McAfee and has optimising options as well. Top Laptop - Top Service - Would recommend
