1. They offered me a very competitive dual fuel rate based on my previous usage when with them two years before. I changed to them but when the contract came through they had based their price on 10,000 Kwh less than the figure they had used previously. I cancelled the deal within the cooling off period and got an email confirming the cancellation' I changed to a cheaper supplier. 2 Scottish Power then sent an email saying I had successfully changed my gas supply to them. I rang and confirmed that this was an error (after a very long time on hold). They said it was sorted. 3. The following day they emailed asking for my gas meter reading. I rang again (over an hour wait) to be told that despite its being their error, I would not be able to change to my new dual fuel supplier as any attempt would be blocked. It would take 8 weeks to solve and I would be returned to my previous supplier and charged their variable rate or gas. 4. They had set up a direct debit which I swiftly cancelled. I also emailed my new proposed supplier telling them of the problem. I await weeks of chaos. Scottish Power are without any doubt the worst company I have ever dealt with. I would give them no stars at all if possible. Avoid them at all costs.

Terrible customer service on the phone. Initially the man at Scottish Power who answered my call started out friendly but he was reeling off numbers and figures to me so quickly that I didn't have a chance to actually ask questions and take it all in. So when I did ask him to explain things to me I got a very huffy response as if it was too much of a trouble for him to actually do his job and explain how their service works and at what costs. When I asked about prices his answers were very quick and he bypassed information that I actually needed to understand. After another impatient response from him where he actually said, "Ugh, I've told you all this before! Now we are going to have to go all the way back to the beginning if you actually want to do that." (It was in a way that sounded like a teenage tantrum) I decided I didn't want to sign up with an energy company who had staff like this. I went to an alternative company who had much better customer service and explained everything thoroughly. They also informed me that some of what Scottish Power had told me was actually a lie! Would not recommend them at all.

0.3 out of 10 on Trust Pilot. I would not recommend using this company if they were the last utility supplier on earth!

Unbelievably hopeless service trying to pay my actual bill rather than an estimated - taken two months of emails and calls to resolve. I’m very pleased I have now moved supplier, not bothered if I am paying more just pleased to depart such a shambolic company.

I was extremely happy with Extra Energy. Unfortunately and suddenly, at least for me, they were no longer trading and OFGEM passed my account over to Scottish Power two months ago. OMG I still don't know where I am with them. I was told my first payment would be taken in February having contacted them several times to find out what my DD is. That was mind blowing in itself. February payment has not been taken as yet. My concern is them suddenly hitting me with a large bill. Not waiting for that so have switched. As other reviews have said they really are INCOMPETENT. I would not have chosen them myself and will be glad to see the back of them. OFGEM do something about them please!!!!

Tried to give meter readings for a change of tenancy for which I am the landlord. The lady was so rude, talked over me, had no customer service skills whatsoever. She wanted information about the new tenants such as their DOB and mobile numbers, which in view of the recent data protection laws I wasn't willing to give her without their permission. When my partner stepped in and said "I never thought it would be so bloody difficult to give a meter reading" she hung up because he has used the word bloody. Would not recommend this supplier if they were the only supplier left on earth, would rather cook and heat on a wood burning stove.

Tried to get SP to resend opening electric meter reading to SSE. Through on-line chat and compliant emails, SP have not once done anything that tries to resolve the issue. They have simply pushed the issue into the long grass hoping that it will go away. They have even contridicted each other. Complete waste of time contacting them. Customer services desk tokk 6 hours to ring back and then put me on hold for 15 minutes - gave up and hung up. Regret the day I signed up with them. DO NOT USE.

Been with ScottishPower since 11/1/19 and I have 2 children under 3 and this is the 4th time we’ve been left with no gas as thay keep saying gas is a luxury so people that have gas cookers is a luxury to eat food thay haven’t set up out of hours details on the account even though I made them aware the week I moved in about it thay also put you on the most expensive tarrif to there been a debt on the meter off +£61 on the gas meter they say it’s there policy I have to clear the debt on the meter then there reimburse me by sending a gas card preloaded with gas credit which is a joke I’m on universal credits I have mental health problems and just can’t affort to pay them someone else’s debt off for them to not reimburse me with the cash it’s the worst company I’ve ever been with even there engineers advise there customers to move companies my kids are freezing as I don’t have electric heaters and thay know this as ScottishPower aswell but all thay care about is ripping people off for every £5 I put on the meter I only get £1.50 gas it’s a absolute joke I recommend any company over this one there useless this company are making my mental health worse my kids a suffering because all thay care about is money and ripping people off with there retarded tariffs I’m taking legal action against them because it’s against the law in the uk to cut children off from heat and cooked meals because thay think it’s a luxury for them to eat and be warm I hope there company goes bust I really do

Almost impossible to get through. Even calling when they open at 8.00am involves more than a 30 minute wait. The call back option can take more that 2 hours despite the estimate stated of 30 to 55 minutes. Then the call back involves waiting a further 20 minutes. Very frustrating because of the amount of times I have had to call due to errors Scottish Power have made on my account which are numerous. Conflicting advice given. It took me over a year to sort a problem when Scottish Power mixed up meter information and closed down my account instead of a neighbours. There are currently problems over smart meter installation. I've had enough and am about to change to Bulb.

This is quite literally the most stupid and incompetent energy supplier that has ever existed. I have been trying to get the dates of when I moved into my house and therefore my energy bill sorted for about 3+ months now. All they have to do is change the dates so I can pay my bill. I have called approximately 10 times, emailed at least 7 times sending attached images of my meter and my tenancy contract with my dates that I started my tenancy clearly in the document but I keep being fobbed off and even told that my tenancy agreement wasn't clear. HOW MUCH CLEARER DO I HAVE TO BE!!! I have spoken to so many people now and I think I deserve to have my bill rescinded at this point because of this companies clear incompetency to do something as simple as change the date of my bill. DO NOT USE THIS ENERGY COMPANY. Eon is miles better (and cheaper).

What a shambles We are new customers with dual fuel and have had the misfortune of ringing customer services at least 3 times ( not a good experience ). This is all to set up a direct debit which somehow seems very hard to do. Once again the money hasn't been taken from our account, we have never had any trouble setting up a direct debit ever before !. They don't really care and just read from a crib sheet. We will not renew at the end of our year.

Appalling company, getting a refund is like impossible been contacting them for the last 3 years yes 3 years for a refund and nothing so I decided to leave Scottish power and join someone else sense then it got better but still no refund 3 months after my next strep will be to contact the ombudsman and complain against them. If you're thinking of joining them please don't I will regreat it! if I could rate them zero I would but unfortunately Trust Pilot dont give you this Note to Scottish Power, I just want the money I'm owed, nothing more! I'm sure it would be very different if i owed your company money.

What went wrong you ask?! First time with Scottish Power felt their Homecare prices were good but when it came to getting an engineer out, impossible task! They cancelled me twice saying both times engineer had phoned in sick. As I work appointment's were difficult to fit round my day's off. My contract was coming to an end thank goodness and on cancelling with them asked why and then quickly terminated my contract, they couldn't give a damn. This is after seeing Scottish Power on National T.V. For neglecting a family over Christmas who had no heating or hot water I rest my case. Stay clear!
