Even one star this absolutely too much. Choosing this company we made the biggest mistake. We used this company for a year and we never understood their settlements. They collected from our account the amounts they wanted and when they wanted to argue that they did not want us to have too much money to pay at the end of the year and when we changed the supplier, they sent us finally £ 300 to pay. Wanting to avoid conversations with them (and so everyone said something else) we paid the amount just to get rid of this company. That's why I'm warning everyone now if you have respect for your own money, run away from Scottish Power

I bought a house to do up and rent out. I contacted Scottish Power to set up an account with them until the house was tenanted - the house was empty apart from decorators so little power/heating used. Tenants moved in 3 months after my purchase. Yesterday, 1/4/19, I received a bill from Scottish Power that was quite unexpected for a quarterly bill. I immediately phoned only to be on hold for an hour and then given a ring back option which I took - the automated voice said 1-2 hours wait. Ring back came at 8pm! I was again put onto hold and at 8.15 the call was hung up!!! Today I called again, this time at 1.15pm - put on hold for another 30 minutes so hung up and went online and found I could request a call back - so I did. Received my call back at 3.15 to only be put on hold! I hung up at 3.40. What's the point of a ring back if you are simply put on hold?? I have tried to log into my online account - it tells me I am not registered so I tried to, this tells me I am registered, so I ask for a new password and then I am told I am not registered! The letter says 'Action required'; I am trying but to no avail. I am not paying until I talk this through with someone as I don't think I owe this. Scottish Power please read this!!! I will never deal with this company.

For the sake of your own sanity, avoid this company like the plague. I was due to move house and advised them of this 7 days in advance. When the sale fell through, I phoned them immediately to let them know. 3 weeks, 6 phone calls and innumerable broken promises later, I`m still being charged for 2 properties. As a conservative estimate, I`ve spent between 4 and 5 hours on the phone trying to resolve this.Their "customer service" is appalling-I was advised by one person that the situation was "my own fault" and they had "only done what you told us to do". When I pointed out that they hadn`t cancelled the unwanted account as I asked,he replied "Well,we`ve only got your word for that!"

Dreadful response to my request to close my mother's account. I was kept on hold for half an hour, spent a further five minutes answering security questions all correctly. Then Sophie the call handler refused to listen to me as I was not the account holder. I pointed out that I had POA, my mother was in a residential home, the house completed tomorrow. Data protection would not alow her to proceed. 3 other Utilities managed to help me with their services today but Scottish Power effectively told me they did not care about an elderly lady who needs support.

the WORST customer service I have EVER come across. the WORST company I have ever come across in my life. one person tells you one thing, another tells you another. no staff are trained properly as no one seems to know what there on about, and they are happy to give you customer service with an attitude. been also waiting for a cheque as compensation for all this company caused me. called last week was told it was on its way sorry for the delay. called this week and unfortunately I was lied to and it hasn't even been sent? this company needs to be shut down. AVOID like the plague

Awful company, go with someone else. All they do is make excuses over the phone and massively overcharge on their "estimated" bills even though I give them a reading every time

Scottish Power were doing (reasonably) well then it all went wrong. I built up a credit for the winter, they returned it to me. I didn't ask for it, they didn't explain why they did it. Then I found i couldn't log in. Their system refused my email address and my password. After endless emails, which showed clearly they had no comprehension of the problem, they set me up a new account. It won't let me in. The one and only time I finally got through to a representative, all he wanted to know was, when are you going to clear your arrears? He did concede that the arrears exactly matched the credit they returned to me... I would not recommend them to anyone. I want to switch but can't while I owe money I haven't got right now. The moment the account is clear, if and when they sort out this logging in nonsense so I can make payments, I will be gone. I've already chanted my shop supply to someone else without a hint of problem.

Hopeless on line service . Registered for direct debit but it was ignored and bills sent by e mail ,tried to pay by BACS and recorded as successful but money did not leave my account and bill still recorded as a debt . Tried telephone contact but gave up after 30 minutes of being told how important my call was . How on earth does regulator allow this outfit to continue

The worst company ever The worst company ever. Can never speak to a person and sit in endless amount of ques whilst trying to call them. Whatever you do make sure it’s not joint ScottishPower. Horrendous customer service and the web chat they offer is non existent as nobody answers that either. Even better than this they offer to call you back free of charge to save sitting in the que but when they do finally call you back guess what your put back in a que MASSIVE MISTAKE JOINING THEM

Atrocious company, customer service takes your phone calls ( x3) but fails to act or does half a job, then I emailed via the system 5 or 6 times I received confirmation of receipt but they failed to read OR act on the emails. They sent threatening letters to my tenants, failed to send bills to the owners registered address, I'm still waiting on my compensation cheque but it's only been 2 weeks. I had to use resolver to try to get them to stop threatening to send bailiffs round to my tenants and send the correct bill to me niot an extimate, they even tried to charge me for the previous tenants power, luckily I had a copy of his bill but they were happy to double charge. AWFUL, AWFUL company - please don't use them I would never recommend them or use them again

1. They offered me a very competitive dual fuel rate based on my previous usage when with them two years before. I changed to them but when the contract came through they had based their price on 10,000 Kwh less than the figure they had used previously. I cancelled the deal within the cooling off period and got an email confirming the cancellation' I changed to a cheaper supplier. 2 Scottish Power then sent an email saying I had successfully changed my gas supply to them. I rang and confirmed that this was an error (after a very long time on hold). They said it was sorted. 3. The following day they emailed asking for my gas meter reading. I rang again (over an hour wait) to be told that despite its being their error, I would not be able to change to my new dual fuel supplier as any attempt would be blocked. It would take 8 weeks to solve and I would be returned to my previous supplier and charged their variable rate or gas. 4. They had set up a direct debit which I swiftly cancelled. I also emailed my new proposed supplier telling them of the problem. I await weeks of chaos. Scottish Power are without any doubt the worst company I have ever dealt with. I would give them no stars at all if possible. Avoid them at all costs.
