I am disgusted with ScS !!!! My elderly parents bought 2 sofas (paying in full, in cash) from ScS. They also paid for insurance cover at the same time. The wrong sofas were delivered before Christmas and my Mum was devastated. She broke her heart, it was awful seeing her in tears. We rallied around due to the "couldn't care a less" attitude and rudeness of responses that received from ScS. We did NOT receive any apology!!! On 4th January Mum was in outpatients getting an ECG. I received a call from a driver saying he was at their house and couldn't get an answer . When I enquired why he was there he had been sent by ScS to collect the sofas. He did not have the correct replacement ones with him! Needless to say he did not get them. I was appaulled that they were going to knowingly leave vulnerable elderly customers with no living room furniture. Mum was sent straight across to A&E and later admitted for observation for AF. 5 days later Mum died. As I was leaving the hospital and Mums death bed ScS rang / text and emailed to say the new sofas were ready. I explained when they rang again about an hour later that Mum had just died. Despite this I received more communications and eventually my Dad said just get them delivered so we could be finally be left to grieve. They were delivered before we had even had a chance to bury her. A small consolation was that in one call from ScS they said that £200 was going to be repaid as a "goodwill gesture" for the inconvenience. IT HAS NOT!!, As if all of this has not been bad enough today, exactly 1 month after Mum died my grieving father received a letter from Castellan group saying they have received notification from ScS to cancel the protection plan. This is without his permission, without any explanation, without a refund of the cost of the plan and in utmost disrespect for an already poorly treated customer. I am furious, speechless and not going to accept this disgraceful treatment of s grieving elderly customer.

Further to our earlier revue, now had scs on phone twice in last two days, could not believe they said they would offer discount to us if we bought another suite for cash only, needles to say he was told where to stick his suite. politely

Worst company i have ever dealt with, 2yrs down the line 3rd sofa and still issues can't be resolved. Their answer to everything is put it in an email. I havent got a computer..... arghhhhhhhh

RIP off techniques at the Plymouth branch! I can’t believe the rude arrogant manager there is allowed to work there! Bought two sofas in December and still haven’t had delivery one month late and they don’t care. Do not buy from these people, they are sharks.

Tried to sell me insurance for £200 told them it was too expensive so they took off 100 and dropped the mechanics ins. Then found still charged £200 on invoice

Oh boy, would never ever recommend this company. Purchased a sofa in Oct 2018 and the moment I set foot in the shop the sales person was straight there with the usual patter, over friendly and my new BFF by the end of the sale. Goods arrived damaged so I contacted customer service. Boy, where do I start.... Rude staff, not bothered, very unhelpful and the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing so all in all atrocious. Replacement goods were incorrect fabric so re ordered again only for them to be incorrect yet again. I was offered a replacement or refund so decided to browse and was pleasantly ignored by the original salesperson and other staff. No help whatsoever. Decided on refund. All in all, bad company, bad staff and wouldn’t touch the again !

I would never recommend scs to any one and advices anyone one who does purchase from the never take out extended guarantee warranty. We bought a suite from them for the fabric to deteriorate within 18 months, after numerous phone calls to both scs and castalan (the warranty company) to be informed that its wear and tear, on a sofa hardly used, after getting a friend to look at it, he informed us the material had been put on the wrong way. After informing both companies again, still no joy. The suite was then taken out the back and set fire to it. It's all it was good for. So never use this company nor its warranty company

Awful customer service and will never shop from ScS again! Having purchased a light coloured suite I purchased the insurance and asked if I'd get a small cleaning kit provided (which I did with previous other companies I'd bought suites and insurance from) and was told yes, but I didn't realise until later that I'd paid for it and not only had I paid for it , there was also a choice of small or large and I'd paid for the large!! I'd let this pass as was excited for new suite. It wasn't delivered in the timescale and no attempt was made to call me to arrange delivery, I just received a text where I had to call a number back and was left in a queue to arrange delivery for which I'd had to pay for. On delivery day, the delivery men damaged my front door, the cleaning kit was not delivered and there was a flaw in the material of the sofa. The customer service is disgusting, they never call you back when they say they will, and it has taken over 2 months to get any resolution. The whole experience has been very stressful and I feel after the store has taken your money they really don't care.

Took £2441 off me beginning of January for a carpet to be fitted. The young lad reegan I brought the carpet off just Slagged off carpet right saying how poor the customer service was. 1st time round the carpet was due to be fitted apparently a mix up and lack of communication ment they never fitted it (so wasted a day off for nothing. 2nd time Had my carpet booked into be fitted the fitter apparently had fallen and couldn't make it. However they didn't even phone us to tell us until 11am. Have tried to get my money back. The customer service is poor. Apparently no1 in the store us capable of doing refunds. Lady Jo who works there is just full of excuses (Probley not her fault) just the fact she works for a really poor run company. No helpful. No useful. Not actually cheaper than the others like they say. An reading reviews on other websites other customers have had the same issues. Only thing I'd recommend about SCS is not to go there. Absolute joke.

orst experience ever bought a sofa for 2500 in January and frame broke a few months later took 2 technicians to come out and write it off . Was then told I could not have a refund but to chose another one as they no longer made the original one after weeks back and fourth to the shop I really could not find one I liked so the manager talked me into one that he said was similar etc colour etc he showed me it in another colour and a corner unit telling me it was the best seller etc so it was ordered it didn’t come when excepted however I got them on finance and was still paying the payment s for this broken sofa that we could not sit on so from August to today lots of bad customer service they new sofas arrive they are awful and not as described or colour ring the store and get told there’s nothing I can do they are to small when told their the same size as old ones no their not I hate them and I suffer with bipolar disorder so every time I walk into the living room I cry no one gets get to me and every time I ring or email they say I can’t send them back worst ever company

Awful will never order again .. was asked to store the carpet at my home on many occasions due to it being delivered on the day they gave me to options either it be stored at my house or it was hanging out the back of the van in the rain I told the lady it wasn’t my problem as it was their fault as it was a mistake with the delivery . Then I was told it was a free fitting which was the offer they had on when the carpet was fitted I had to pay 169 pound so how can they advertise as free fitting when your still paying store manager said he will call me back that was a week ago awful service and I will never buy from their again !

HARLOW SCS We ordered carpet from SCS Harlow on 12th January 2019, sold on the promise of 2.5 weeks from order to fit - great we thought! The surveyor cancelled the first appointment and it was rescheduled 4 days later. We received a call from SCS that evening advising that the invoice was a little more than the estimate and asked if we could go into store to pay the difference. We went in and were told that the surveyor had, in fact, actually measured it all wrong and we would receive a call during the week as it was a Sunday. We received a call on the following Thursday asking for more payment. We questioned the measurements again and, ironically, the salesman commented that "with no disrespect" he would "rather trust my fitter than you" on measurements. The salesman and the fitter had already messed it up at this stage. We went into store on the next Saturday and thought we had sorted it. We were told we would receive a call 're fitting dates...4 days later and no call so we called them today (Wednesday 30th) to be told it would be another 3 weeks before the carpets could be fitted! 5.5 weeks from order to fit would be more accurate! We noticed that we were being charged £20 fitting costs despite SCS claiming to be offering free fitting included. When I rang and questioned this they offered a unacceptable explaination for the charge. I naturally became angry because of all the above. The phone cut off and, when I called back, the assistant store manager answered. He called me a coward for shouting on the phone to his colleague and suggested that I should come into store to sort it out instead. He also threatened to call the police because I swore during the earlier phone call to his colleague. He also called me pathetic for questioning £20 fitting fee anomoly and said he doesnt care if I am a paying customer, he doesn't want my business and said he would cancel our order! The phone cut off. After 30 minutes or so, I rang him back and asked him if he would like to take the opportunity to apologise for calling me a coward but he refused. The store manager then joined the call and was able to discuss the matter with some decorum and agreed that we should have the £20 refunded and that she would try to get the fitting set for a Saturday which would still make it 5 weeks from order to fitting. SCS is not recommended unless you are happy to be messed around on price and fitting date.

Bought two sofas from ScS two years ago, the ralaph collection. The member of staff persuaded us to buy the insurance at £250 assured us that it covers everything and that it lasts 5 years. We weren’t happy with the sofas they are a cheap nasty faux leather very poor quality but we kept them The faux leather peeled on the arm only slightly but we where informed that if anything goes wrong we have to get in touch straight away so the insurance is valid. They finally sent out a claims form after having to get in touch a few times to get one. Now we have received a letter in the post saying that the insurance doesn’t cover that type of damage! What did we pay £250 extra for?? Waste of money don’t let them pressure you into buying it! Go to DFS instead like us!

Delivered sofa took one look at the door no mate won't go in! But you not tryed don't care mate won't go in mate. Had conversation with shop to leave it and I'll take it in myself they came again nob of a driver said no mate after arguing they left it and myself age 64 and my neighbour age 70 took it up a flight of stairs and in my flat in 45 minutes. If you want a sofa never use SCS they are East of time with no support and lazy delivery men mine came from Coventry. The same review is going on all social media sites

Got three piece from Doncaster branch rang to say we are not happy with quality not enough stuffing in seat back and sink in one side of settee Sent out man took pictures nothing else done it’s only eight months old

SCS SURVIVAL KIT After 9 very long months SCS have finally agreed to remove my faulty £5000 sofa and refund all my money. My best tip is do yourself a favour and don't buy from them. But if you decide to don't pay cash for anything. Use a credit card or buy on their finance, you have more protection. When the furniture arrives inspect it carefully and if there is anything wrong with it make them take it away immediately. If anything goes wrong with it after delivery don't let them send their so called technicians to inspect it. They will say anything rather than admit there's a fault with it. Get your own independent report and write to them within 30 days under the Consumer Rights act to reject the furniture. They still won't take any notice of you but it really is important that you put that in writing. Then inform the credit card/ finance company that you have rejected under the Consumer Rights Act and had an independent report. They will then contact them and things will then happen. This company is the worst I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They have given us 9 months of stress and heartache and I would not wish that on anybody else.

Oh my god! What an absolute NIGHTMARE... we went in store on Boxing Day 2018, and chose a sofa marked at £395, by the end of the sale it was priced at just under £700, but we had fallen in love with it at this point and just decided to go with it. We also chose a carpet in the “sale” also promising “free delivery”. On the day staff were enthusiastic and friendly and tried to explain the delivery situation multiple times before we simply gave up and said fine, after a couple of hours in store with the understanding the cost of fitting would be taken off the carpet price but on the day we were required to pay the fitters an additional £110, and then extra for one carpet we couldn’t remove ourselves. The sofa is due for delivery mid February so after reading reviews we will have to see what that brings then. As for the carpets, they are currently being fitted, on the 25th January 2019. Initially told it would be this morning, called in the morning to suggest it would be around 1pm, finally arriving to begin work after 3pm. Our initial reactions both being “that’s not what we picked..” but with some uncertainty. On hindsight, it would have been better to do some research beforehand- Red flags should have been recognised to be honest when: -We were called required to pay an additional £40 because initial calculations were wrong. -upon official measurements being taken the calculations were wrong again, the man who came out unable to understand how the figures had been calculated and told us to go back into store and get a refund of £37, and told us they hadn’t even notified him of the additional payment -upon returning to the store, the same salespeople made eye contact and purposefully avoided any further communication. In conclusion, do your research and seriously consider if the risk is worth it.....

I went into the Drakehouse Sheffield store this morning with a view to purchasing a bedroom carpet. Having found something suitable the salesman took all the the details and presented me with the final cost. First I queried the fitting charge it was supposed to be free fitting to this he said it would be removed before I payed. Why was it three in the first place ? Next £30 for a carpet care plan which I didn't ask for, next £29 deliverery they are having a laugh almost everything they sell they have to deliver. Be very careful when you buy from this store and look very carefully at what you are being charged for.

Had nothing but trouble with SCS from start to finish,I'm still having problems 3 years later with them,once they have got your money they don't care,customer services are shocking
