“Our first (but we hope not last) Senior Discovery Tours adventure was the tour of the Maritime Provinces. Because we reside in the U.S., we were not able to enjoy the full travel benefits offered such as home pickup, but all other arrangements were done in a smooth and professional manner. The tour itself was well planned, and scheduled so that most of our hotel stays were for more than one night--providing us with an easier "rhythm" of travel and discovery. Our tour manager was superb in both her knowledge of the materials presented and her engagement with the group--we were about 40 in number. She was also quick to take initiative in rearranging some portions of the tour sequence to take account of some heavy weather. The hotels arranged were comfortable and convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves discovering a part of Canada that we had never visited before--(and we got a sense that it was an area undiscovered by many Canadians as well.) We were so pleased with SDR that we booked an overseas tour, but alas, it was cancelled due to insufficient subscription. We hope to try again in the future.”
“Each one of our 4 SDT tours have been superb! It really is matter of choosing a destination & calling to book. Literally everything else is taken care of, even transportation to and from airports. From initial booking to arrival home the experience was excellent.
Our one trip was 2 weeks in Spain where the accomodations were very good, the services of the Tour Director excellent, including arranging for a doctor to come to the hotel when one of us became ill.

But I must be honest, our tour director on that tour was Margaret, I felt she was very harsh in her mannerism. Not very patient, very short at times. But very knowledgable on the microphone on the coach, about the history of Newfoundland. Second trip was to Italy, excellent trip in everything as well. But two negatives... no washroom on the coach, which I was shocked with. I have been on many other tours over the years with other companies, and all had a washroom. I no just for emergencies only, but still a washroom. I have ulcerative cholitis, and if I knew no washroom on the coach, I would not have gone. The other thing, our again tour director was Patrick, also very harsh in his mannerism, and not very eloquent. But I hope to go on more of senior discover tours in the next few years, but I will ahead of time make sure their will he a washroom on the coach.”
