The accommodations and restaurants included were extraordinary. Our guide, Tommy, couldn’t have been better. He was knowledgeable, caring, considerate and with a good sense of humour. The one thing I found difficult was the pace we had to keep. There were quite a few times where we were functioning on very little sleep and I would have preferred a few extra days in destinations like Hoi An. You certainly get a good bang for your buck with Smartours and I would recommend them without hesitation. The tour concept is maybe just not for me.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable. The trip was unexpectedly a bit physically demanding; there were a few days when we were required to rise in the wee morning hours because of in-country flight schedules.

The tour was great but the last day was Saturday and we had very little to do. Might have been better to cut trip short by one day

I love smartours and have gone on many trips. This trip to Russia was great but optional tours very overpriced and not good. I paid $100 dollars for the ballet in St. Petersburg Seat was terrible in a side box with limited view of the stage. I had to stand for the entire balllet as did a few others in my situation I paid quite a bit of money for a metro tour in Moscow. A ride on the metro is only a few dollars. This tour had us on the metro for less than one hour. We went to several stops very rushed with no time to enjoy the lovely art work. I should have ridden the metro on my own. I did it in St. Petersburg Trip on the river in St. Petersburg was fun and good

The administrative part was not the greatest, although not the worst. I did not like the fact that you receive the travel documents two weeks prior to your departure. Additionally, I followed instructions regarding the passport, mailed it priority mail and then was asked for it again. I was frustrated and asked if someone would look for the document I mailed and paid for but the individual I contacted would not reply back to the email. I did send the copy via the method asked again but did not appreciate being ignored. On the flip-side, the trip to South Africa was amazing, it was truly an express trip but very enjoyable. The accommodations were nice. One suggestion is letting the travelers know to get the currency in advance prior to getting to the airport, we were unable to get Rand, however, we were able to get it upon arrival. Most things that require money required the use of Rand not the US dollar. Additionally, when doing the excursions, it would have been nice to see to items ahead of time so you can decide which you may or may not want to do because once you are in country, the tour guide pretty much tells you that you need to make a decision, otherwise you will not be on those tours. Sure you can go it alone but to feel the highest level of safety you want to go with the group that was recommended by the travel agency.

Good value, good guides, good places, good hotels; good services re checkin for hotels and site visits Poor food; poor service and unclear directions from New York office. Nightmare dealing with Eastern China Air for reservations which need to be pre-arranges before days of flight Need to more accurately describe physical challenges of this trip

Please have your tour guides more patient, if older people ask the question twice do not get aggravated

Phenomenal accommodations. The tour guide for Krueger National Park seemed a bit unorganized and didn’t do a good job of reading the client. He was very nice but talked too much.

Our tour guides made the tour The Four Star hotel is a lemon. Please find a hotel in town. Much excitement and more to see in Havana. A museum, Temple, and landmark buildings should be considered Toooooo much travel on the bus. The choices of restaurants should also be reevaluated.

Everthing was EXCELLENT..Tour Director Fernando, all local guides, drivers, hotels, accomodations, dinner, schedules, sites.. I would have rated it “very good” except that our flight from Sao Paolo to Miami got cancelled. Our grp was helpless, nobody spoke portuguese. It is a good thing my husband & I stayed at the airport til next morning for the flight. The next day I was told by the grp that the hotel ( Monaco )was not even a 1 star. SUGGESTION- there shld have been a representative at Sao Paolo for assistance, because , I think, technincally, the tour wasn’t over til we got to Miami.

Our guide Ron McGregor was excellent, organized and extremely knowledgeable in all aspects, The hotels in Capetown and Johannesburg were below our expectations. the hotel in Swaziland was awful. The lodges in Zululand and Kruger park were quite acceptable, we would suggest to increase the cost to upgrade the accommodations because the rest of the trip was most enjoyable and well planned.

The Welcome dinner and facility used was unimpressive. However, other meals and facility improved. The Lazy Susan atmosphere for meals became old after a while yet this probably kept costs lower. Could have used an extra day in Beijing and Xian. Overall I found the trip rewarding for the cost.

Good pricing, but land only option would have been preferable, with start and stop in lima and quito. Travelling to miami was long and expensive for many.

I have one suggestion. Although the hotel in Miramar was okay. It would be much more convenient to be in Havana. I missed things there because the hotel was so far away from downtown.
