“This was my seventh tour with smarTours and it did not fail to impress. The accommodations, included meals, sightseeing, and safaris were outstanding!!! We saw the big five with excellent safari guides. The extension to Victoria Falls was well worth the cost. My wife and I had the opportunity to walk across the bridge to Zambia!! The trip has become our number one destination!!!”

“It was a nice experience to have travel with SmarTours. I did like the fact about our tour guide, that he showed he did care for us. Our tour guide always ask us if we were doing ok and if their was anything we needed. I always felt safe at all times. It wont be the last time traveling with SmarTours;)....”

“SmarTours met or exceeded my expectations every day of the trip! Beginning with our tour guide (Mark) Limon Ma ! From the minute we stepped off the plane until we stepped on the plane to return home Mark was with us everyday guiding , directing and giving us insightful information about all of the China population. My favorite portion of the trip was visiting the small village on the Shennong river. Actually every day was my favorite portion of the trip because each day brought a new and exciting Adventure that will be cherished forever. I highly recommend Smart Tours for this tour especially, And it was beyond expectations for the value it cannot be beat! All four flights in China we're on time, efficient,and courteous flight crews I have nothing but praise for China Eastern Airlines.”

“Enjoyed the group and the Tour Guide/Bus Driver. Although surprised regarding dual duties of Guide/Bus driver. I have traveled with Smartours in the past and was highly pleased. This tour missed the mark. When the itinerary deleted Windhoek and substituted Johannesburg for one night that created a wasted,exhausting day because there was no time to do anything in J’Berg. The itinerary could have improved with an additional day in Swakopmund or Sossusvlei in my opinion. The itinerary was just flat for me as I have traveled this itinerary before. Not dining at one of the most scenic restaurants the Tug in Swakopmund was a disaster although fine dining at the Hansa Hotel was ok but no ambience for a coastal town. Also, no options like sand safari. No dinners included in Victoria Falls hotel which has one of the most expensive hotel restaurants with no nearby restaurants except Boma was not reasonable, and would have required one to go into town at night. Botswana was fine except construction at hotel detracted from the ambience and relaxation. Food was ample. I understand this itinerary was canceled for the future. A little more effort and company expense on developing itinerary could have improved the itinerary and made this a memorable trip for me. I was impressed with flights directly to Walvis Bay airport. Also appreciate the staff at all of the hotels. Always felt safe.”

“Hotels were not as good ad on my previous trip, no porters at any of the Scanfinavian or Russia hotel which is ridiculous. Betty Levin didn't exactly put herself out, Russian and Copenhagen guides were fabulous others mediocre. Food st Stockholm hotel was awful.”

“It was a great price, was great to have our own tour guide and driver.Plane ride was noisy, but coming and going, however overall value and experience made up for it. Will go on another trip soon.”

“Spain exceeded my expectations. The hotels were outstanding The only criticism I would voice is that the end of our trip was in Barcelona and we lost one day because it was a National holiday with demonstrations anticipated. We all felt that SmarTours should have adjusted the itinerary We have bern traveling with your tour group since 1998 and recommend SmarTours-to everyonr.”

“I have now been on the following tours with SmarTours: Morocco, Vietnam & Cambodia, India & Nepal, South Africa & Swaziland, Greece & Turkey. The hotels have been terrific, the food has been delicious, guides knowledgeable and helpful, and our fellow travelers interesting and lovely. Having the burden of navigation and transportation removed from the equation of traveling, has meant more relaxing, efficient, and rewarding trips. I’ve learned and experienced so much! I can’t imagine better trips!”

“What a great trip! Elvis was an excellent tour director. We saw some great sights - Lake Bled, Postojna Cave, Plitvice Lake, and Kotor in Montenegro. Lodging and transportation were great, although hotel in Opatija could stand some upgrading. Thank you!”

“The economics of what you charge is hard to believe! The hotels were almost all **** or ***** with lots of meals, four in-country flights, etc. Mark was superb...knowledgeable, energetic, well spoken and proud of his country. I especially liked the calligraphy class and the ability to give Mark $20 which he dispersed to the various tourguides/drivers.”

“I joined the Spirit of Sicily tour (September 3-15). Overall it was good and I would like to thank you for letting us have the optional tour despite the fact that some people had cancelled and only a small number participated. Regarding the Tour Directors: the first one (Oliviero Olivieri) was very good and helpful. The one at the Aeolian Islands was also quite good, but I don't like it when TDs take travelers to restaurants where they get free food for bringing travelers. The local specialists varied a lot. The one in Palermo was excellent, though I would have preferred to have more time in the churches to view the beautiful mosaics (NOT her fault). The same goes to the other archaeological sites: we should have had more time. The local specialist in Catania was really bad and lost most of the travelers over time. The hotels were quite good, but I was very unhappy during the first stay at the Olimpo Antares: I received a very small room facing a walkway, so one couldn't have the shades up, it was extremely noisy, and there wasn't even a place to put the suitcase. I paid the single supplement and should have received a room of the same quality as other participants. I could see on my 2nd stay there (on the way back from the islands) what I missed the first time. I really felt cheated the way I was treated. They said they were fully booked, but since I made the reservation months ahead of the trip it wasn't a last minute reservation and I should have received the high quality room as the other tour participants. The included dinners were not that impressive: in the first two, the main dish was really like an appetizer, and in the Olimpo we had the general buffet in the main dining room with another few hundred guests, similar to what we got when we went there individually.”

“Local tour guides were not competent and limited in their guiding the tour. More time given to go on our own without guide. Some of the hotels were not good. Worst of all we had to handle our luggage from hotel to bus, bus to Airpot and everywhere.Few extra dollar charges would have taken care for convenience and comfort. Best stay and place was ULLENSVANG HOTEL”

“SmarTours Magical Ireland was a wonderful trip chock full of history, culture, geologic formations and spectacular scenery. Peter Murphy was masterful in his ability to share his love and deep knowledge of the Republic of Ireland Northern Ireland and to ensure that we experienced the countries in ways that were memorable. In looking back on the trip, I am amazed at how much we saw and did. We met and interacted with many interesting locals whose additional insights enhanced our underatanding. The accommodations were great and all went very smoothly. I loved every minute - Thank you Peter and SmarTours!”
