“This was by far the worst airline experience I have ever had. My sister and I, both UAE resident visa holders with valid Emirates IDs and U.S. visas, were traveling on SpiceJet Flight SG018 from Cochin to Dubai.
At the check-in counter, SpiceJet staff outright refused to even try processing our documents. Instead of assisting, they immediately dismissed us. When we asked them to attempt with our Emirates IDs — something that has worked with other airlines before — they arrogantly refused.
The so-called “duty manager” who came to handle the situation was shockingly unprofessional. He was rude, hostile, and went as far as shouting at us in front of other passengers. It was humiliating, disrespectful, and completely uncalled for. When we asked for a written explanation of why we were being denied boarding, with signature and stamp, he flatly refused — something no professional airline would ever do.
Only after repeated pressure did they finally try — and unsurprisingly, my UAE visa permit came through instantly. This proves that the entire issue was their unwillingness to even make an attempt in the first place. My sister’s didn’t go through because of a system mismatch, but the fact remains: had they simply done their job from the start, we would not have gone through such public humiliation and stress.
To make matters worse, this is peak season for Cochin–Dubai flights and ticket prices are already exorbitant (₹54,000 now, booked at around ₹40,000 earlier). One wasted ticket, plus hotel bookings already made for our trip, has caused a major financial setback — all because of SpiceJet’s negligence and arrogance.
On top of all this, the flight itself was delayed as usual — scheduled at 10:45 PM, delayed to 11:30 PM, and further delayed on arrival to 2:45 AM. SpiceJet clearly has no respect for passengers’ time, money, or dignity.
This airline thrives on inefficiency, arrogance, humiliation of passengers, and a complete lack of professionalism. If this is how SpiceJet handles international passengers, then it speaks volumes about their standards. Absolutely unacceptable, disgraceful service. I will strongly discourage anyone from flying with SpiceJet”
“Terrible and Pathetic service from the check in counter Manager Akbar Ali and his team, Airlines reschedule there flight 15min early and if we are late by 5min they deny us from check in ,issue with airline wheelchair service, entrance door security too slow worst than a worm”
“My experience with SpiceJet was very disappointing. Neither their customer service nor the nodal officer helped me, and they were completely unsuccessful in resolving my concerns related to the legalities of booking and vending. Their policies are implemented strictly without any laxity, due to which passengers do not get any solution or help.
I strongly warn my fellow passengers to think twice before booking with this airline. In my opinion, traveling with a spa jet is like inviting trouble for yourself.

“I wish i could give 0. Spicejet is the worst flight i have ever taken in my life. The baggage rules are really bad and the staff isnnot good. seats are uncomfortable and service is really bad. They just want to take money from you for everything. First and last spicejet flight. 🙏🏽🙏🏽”

“Worst flight service..always delays and cancels ...even after cancellation they don't pay refund amount on time...if they can't provide good service at least they should pay the refund amount on time.”
“Flight showing take off timing 4:55 am and then start delaying continuously and now 9:30 am. Plane still staying in Delhi and there is two attempts taken by pilot but not able to fly. Very poor condition of plane. Very disappointed. We woke up at 2 am and there is time when plane can fly. There is 1 hr journey to Leh but we spend 8 hour at airport. Please return our ticket amount”
“I had a flight from Bagdogra at 3.30 pm. Spicejet preponed it to 8.55 am. They refused to give any alternative flights. Terrible experience. I will never fly with Spicejet ever again and recommend the same for every one.”
“I had one of the worst travel experiences with SpiceJet. As someone who frequently flies with Indigo and Air India for corporate travel, I decided to try SpiceJet and instantly regretted it. Despite having a corporate booking, I wasn't allowed to book a front-row seat. At the airport, I was told these seats are chargeable even for corporate bookings—something I’ve never faced with other airlines.
To make it worse, I was carrying a laptop bag and a small cabin suitcase, totaling just 11 kg—well within the standard 22 kg limit. Yet, I was charged ₹2,600 for "excess baggage" simply because I chose to carry both in the cabin, a completely normal practice among corporate travelers who value time and efficiency. The check-in staff never informed me of this rule when I inquired earlier about my seat, and conveniently waited until the end to drop this surprise.
The ground staff, especially the manager Mohammad Asif, was unhelpful and dismissive. When I tried to explain the rationale behind carrying both bags to save time during corporate travel, he simply refused to listen. It honestly felt like the airline was running a scam to extract extra money from unsuspecting passengers.
SpiceJet’s service is not just subpar—it’s exploitative. I will never recommend this airline to anyone, especially business travelers.”
“My tickets were cancelled without my permission and no information was provided by any means no email, call, message or WhatsApp that it has been cancelled. I waited with my checked in boarding pass at the boarding gate for more than 4 hours. The flight was delayed and then me and my husband were denied boarding at the boarding gate. It is harassment and cheating by the airline. To top it, no refund has been sent and we were blamed that we asked the airline to cancel our tickets in exchange for full refund. The staff is fraud and blames it's customers to make money by cheating. I will file a court case for the harassment.”
“I am having my flight to srinagar from Delhi on 3 may and return on 7 may. It's not even 15 days to the terror attack in pahalgam.. people are fleeing from Kashmir and spicejet is not ready to cancel by booking nor ready to provide me the refund.. this has caused me and my family lot of distress. Rest all airlines are issuing refund till 7 of May atleast.”
