Just realised they have been deducting £29 p/m from my credit card for 10 months! I presumed the initial introduction fee £40 was the only payment necessary as I have paid the tutor directly once introduced. I know I should have realised sooner but now called the credit card company to block. Cannot get a reply from any emails sent to Superprof asking for a refund.

Whoever also got scammed from this website please contact me at 004477525987195. We are in a watsapp group 3 people already and planning to open a case. I was also a victim of course - automatically added in subscription without knowing, when I just wanted to pay the tutor. No refund either. It is a scam website, let's get rid of it from the internet together and also get our money back.

It's a fraud they have mentioned tutor will be taking a 1 hr class and we are paying for the class and tutor will be getting the money. This website or platform is completely a scam to dupe people and get the money.

Total scam. Don't pay $59 registration for your first free lesson. The tutor did not show up and they did not make the Refund. Total lies...They never said it is not refundable and it is monthly subscription.

As a tutor, you have to click on "accept classes", otherwise you can't communicate with the prospective students to find out their level, needs and availability. So, in principle you have to commit to something you know nothing about. The default message to be sent to the students says the first class is free, i.e. the tutor will not be paid. Of course, there's no way I was going to accept that, so I edited the message every time. However, after negotiating with one prospective student only to find out our respective schedules made it impossible to do any classes, he informed me that Superprof were charging him 19€ for the first class (which never happened, of course) and could I reimburse him? Whichever way you look at it, this is a total piss-take. Avoid like the plague.

SCAM - AVOID I have to say this is the worst platform I have ever used. 1) I was NEVER informed that I needed to pay for a "student pass" just to communicate with the tutors. 2) I was charged even BEFORE any tutor contacted me. 3) Then a tutor accepted my lesson request, and suddenly I realised I was charge even before the lesson. This is the same a s theft: charging a whopper £29 for a service I did not even use. Utterly disappointed and will tell ALL my friends about this scam platform, needless to say worst reviews. There are SO MANY other platforms with excellent teachers which does not charge a single penny for the user. It is the tutors who should be charged because they use your platform to advertise. Students should only be charged for the lessons they took already. I am so glad I have deleted my account, so that I will not be charged again for NO SERVICE AND NO REASON?????

Same as other reviews: Not transparent and clear visible that you subscribe for a monthly fee. It does not make sens to pay this amount money for just using their website (I only entered their website once but even if I would use it more often/regularly it would not make sens) and it was said to be payed once the teacher accepts you for the cours. So nobody can expect it to be a monthly fee if you read this. That's why I feel they are intransparent on purpose.

Be very wary of the billing, they offer no refunds if you do not use the platform and have forgotten to cancel

Absolutely terrible site - wish I had read these reviews before using it. I was scammed too - didn't realise the £29 was for a student pass - nothing about this on the home page. Have taken my money to just contact a tutor! DO NOT USE THIS SITE.

£29 to search for a tutor. Not to engage one, just to search. The website says, 'Your card is only fully debited if a tutor accepts your request.' I asked for clarification. The reply still left me baffled. Was I liable to pay £29 every month? I just don't know. They tell me that with my 'student pass' I can continue signing up with tutors. Just how many educational courses can I bear at one time? The best I can say is that Superprof lacks transparency. And from what little searching I did do I got the impression that it's not stocked with a huge amount of talent.

Fees charged for use of website!!!! It was not clear that they would charge me a fee of £29 a month to just FIND a tutor. I noticed I had been charged two months x £29, so I enquired and received a very blunt email in response. I did not see any confirmation email as it went to my spam account, and the company were unwilling to refund me.

I was under the impression that fees for the tutor sessions would be paid via their system - not a subscription fee for essentially nothing!

Avoid!

Superprof makes money by having many subscribers at $39 monthly. It is not clear that you are signing up for a student pass, rather you are submitting your credit card information for future tutor billing.

Scammed me for > $200.00 Did not realized that it was "pay for" membership. Thought they are paid from lessons one is purchasing. So, robbed of >$200.00 Stay away guys. Day light robbers.

It's really a scam, believe the bad reviews. They will trick you and simply take your money.

Paid £29 to contact a tutor. Website and confirmation email state that this will be refunded should the tutor refuse the request for a lesson. The tutor accepted the request with a message stating that she would be rejecting the request (why?). I've emailed Superprof but not holding out much hope of receiving my money back based on others reviews so will probably need to resort to a charge back via my bank.

I signed up for a trial £10 for first lesson , but then found out it was only going to be a 15 minute trial session.. you make it sound like the classes are £10 a lesson but £29 and I’ve been charged monthly since last august !! I need to be refunded!! How are you still continuing a business ? By scamming people? Never even had one lesson for my son !! The tutor I spoke to Vanita was a very nice young lady who said due to her studies she could not do class ? But said the charges need to be dealt directly with superprof !! Let’s see what you come back with!! Can’t even contact you !! I am waiting to see what you come back with !!😡 not happy with your service!! Will deffo be reporting this !!!

Another victim of this cynical company with its dishonest business model. I never booked or even agreed to a lesson and they took £29 from my PayPal account. When I complained to them they sent me a patronising e-mail asserting their position ie that I had agreed to a lesson (all I did was click on a link to get further information). It’s a game of words that have been carefully designed to entrap innocent would-be customers. Or you might just call it a SCAM. Shame on them.

Yes, it's a SCAM site, be careful, don't pay $39 registration for your first free lesson. The tutor did not show up and they did not make the Refund. I sent several emails and they never responded. I canceled the subscription as it's not just registration before they add more fees.
