Hired a car from Surprice at Milan airport. Had to authorise a pending payment of 900 Euros as a deposit because I had taken insurance from the company recommended on Trip.com and not their own even though this was not an option. Returned the car with same fuel and no damage. Staff very busy and gentleman who reviewed the car on collection said all was ok and to sign document. I asked him what the document was but he had skipped to the part for signature and just said car is ok. stupidly, I signed. Once home, the pending deposit was cancelled but £19.21 was taken out of my account without authorisation. I complained to Trip.com who investigated and then told me that it was for cleaning as the car was dirty and I had agreed to this. I have made further complaints to Trip.com and to my credit card company. This company is scamming money and it is being endorsed by Trip.com. My advice is not to use either company.

Ordered a 9 seat car from them. They spent 2,5 hours with additional fees and expenses before they told me the car was not there ("out of service" was the term they used). This is not a trust worthy company in my opinion. Stay away and choose another company that you can trust.

For all those who did not get their deposit back. We have come a long way in every possible way and only constant appeals to the police have helped us. Only the police can save your money. No one else. And this is only during the high season, where it is easier for them to return the deposit while at the same time taking much larger amounts from others. After this season this company will be gone and thousands of people will be cheated. I can't believe this is not happening in Africa but in the EU.

I will not recommend SurPrice Venice Car Rental to others. *Unacceptable Cancellation and Refusal of Refund* I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and disappointment with my recent experience at the Venice branch of SurPrice Car Rental. I made a reservation for a rental car for seven days, paid the rental amount in full, and also paid for insurance in full, well in advance of my planned trip. However, upon arrival at the Venice SurPrice Car Rental, I was informed that my booking had been canceled without any prior notice or explanation and, to my utter disbelief, no refund would be issued. I was informed that the only refund possible would be from the insurance company. This is, in my opinion, daylight robbery. I find the manner in which SurPrice Car Rental Venice has treated my booking and insurance payment to be nothing short of disgraceful and unprofessional. I made my reservation in good faith, paying in full for both the rental and the insurance, and expected to receive the services I paid for. To cancel my reservation without providing any justification, notification, or compensation is not only a breach of trust but also, I believe, a breach of the terms of our agreement. I strongly urge you to review your policies and procedures regarding cancellations and refunds and to rectify the situation immediately. My trip to Venice has been overshadowed by the stress and inconvenience caused by your company's actions. I am extremely disappointed with your lack of communication, unprofessional behavior, and blatant disregard for your customers. Furthermore, I would like to emphasize that I will not recommend SurPrice Venice Car Rental to others. I intend to share my unfortunate experience with family, friends, colleagues, and on social media and review platforms. Prospective customers deserve to know how SurPrice Car Rental treats its customers and should be aware of the potential risks involved in doing business with your company. In conclusion, I expect an immediate and satisfactory resolution to this matter, including an explanation and an appropriate refund. Please understand that if this issue is not addressed promptly and to my satisfaction, I will not hesitate to escalate the matter to the appropriate authorities and seek legal recourse if necessary. ChatGPT I strongly discourage using SurPrice Venice Car Rental due to their unacceptable cancellation and refusal of refund. I prepaid for a seven-day rental and insurance, but upon arrival, I was told my booking was canceled without notice or explanation, and no refund would be given except from the insurance company. This is disgraceful and unprofessional. I made my reservation in good faith and expected the services I paid for. Your actions have caused stress and inconvenience during my trip to Venice. I will share my negative experience with others and on social media. I demand an immediate explanation and appropriate refund, or I will escalate the matter and seek legal recourse if necessary.

Summation of my horrible experience with SurPrice/Auto One: • Charged my credit card an exorbitant deposit of EUR900.00 • I had not one, but two flat tires in one day!! The first tire (left front driver’s side) blew while I was driving on a busy motorway. I had to stop immediately to prevent losing control of the vehicle and causing a serious accident. I had to change the tire on a narrow shoulder of the motorway, risking my life doing so. No emergency equipment available in the vehicle (warning triangles, flairs, etc.). The second tire (right front passenger side) blew while driving to Pisa to return the car. The spare was already used so we were stranded on the side of another busy motorway. • SurPrice/Auto One in Pisa were contacted several times and refused to help me. • I resorted in contacting 211 (Italian version of 911) who kindly assisted me and put me in contact with an English speaking person at Italian Emergency Roadside Assistance. • I was met by a tow truck and driven to Montopoli, Italy where the car was to be repaired. • I had to pay 140.00 EUR cash to a friend of the tow truck driver to get us back to SurPrice/Auto One office in Pisa (not to mention taking a train from Pisa to Lucca where I was staying). • Surprice/Auto One charged my credit card $786.00 after the fact claiming all of this was my fault. • Surprice/Auto One again charged my credit card 60.00EUR 17 days later with a follow-up email accusing me of a traffic violation. I was never stopped nor issued a ticket during my time in Italy. My credit card company flagged the charge as fraud and denied it thankfully. This is a shady and dishonest company with unethical business practices. They have defective and shoddy vehicles that are meant to break down so as to charge exorbitant repair fees to replace this junk (hence the high deposit held on credit cards). The cost breakdown of my $786.00 was related to EUR 400 “Damage Charge” (very vague), EUR 26.00 refueling, EUR 25.00 penalty for not refueling (as if this was possible given the circumstances) and EUR 205.00 for the tow truck. The vehicle was a Lancia Ypsilon with worn-out used tires. A new tire typically costs 90.00 EUR for this type of vehicle. Italian authorities really need to investigate this company and put them out of business.

Hi, actually I would gave them less than 1 star. They gave me a different car from my original booking, the car had lots of scratches and they blamed me for it, the tank was half full and they try to change me for a full tank. I purchased insurance with Expedia and Surprice change me extra and 3 times more. I definitely would not rent from them ever again and definitely not recommend to others.

Same story here rock tiny scratch 250 euros. Avoid at all cost this company. Every single person gets charged made up or not

"Surprice" is named after the surprise their customers feel at the prices they're charged. For example, the $500 (252GBP) that was charged by the company as I only had an American Express card, which means Surprice customers have to opt for their most expensive insurance policy (as they INCORRECTLY state that Amex doesn't allow pre-authorisations).

Lots of criticism by others but I found them to be excellent last week in Porto. Clean modern facility with lots of cars in excellent condition. Had one for a week, six months old and everything went very well. Staff friendly and helpful and no stupid pressure selling of their own insurance when I refused it. No quibbling about the condition of the car when returned either. I'll try them again, no question.

My review is very similar to the last. Booked through EasyJet and conned out of 800 Euros. We filmed them whilst they claim to have found two windscreen chips which they dug away at with a pen exacerbating existing damage not caused by us, after we had returned the car to their site. Asked them to call the police. They simply ignored us. This is clearly part of their business model. Recommend you avoid this company at all costs.

In short, they conned my wife and I out of 950 euros. We were recommended this car rental through EasyJet. Big mistake! Can't believe EasyJet would recommend this gang to holiday-goers. The pick-up seemed a little dodgy; they were friendly, but they kept changing the conditions of the agreement when talking to my wife (who speaks Italian) and myself. Unfortunately we were jet-lagged, our 8-month-old was crying his eyes out, and we wanted to get to bed. I did manage to take an all-around video of the car. The car was extremely temperamental, conking out three times in just four days. But that's nothing compared to the drop-off; I assure you that we returned the car in the exact condition it was given to us. We arrived back at the site and, having gone to check the car in, one of the workers started picking at the door panel with a pen, saying that we had caused severe damage to it. Then followed an immense travesty act, wherein they said they would call the police on us for the damages. I told them that it seemed like a good idea, seeing as they were attempting to rob us of our deposit. After at least 30 minutes of telling us we could receive compensation in 28 days (and after showing them I had taken a video of the car upon pick-up), they finally withdrew to simply blanking me, seeming to think it was better to not understand English. They refused to speak with my wife, who speaks Italian. Around a week after we got home the 950 euros was taken from our account, and though I have been onto the bank about this matter, it seems unlikely that we will get this money back. If you’re looking for a stress-free, scam-free holiday, DO NOT rent a car from SurpPrice Car Rental.

They are real scammers. In a simple 7-day rental in Turkey, I have had 3 scam attempts by the subcontractor. Complaints to Carjet fall on deaf ears. They are clearly aware that their subcontractor is a bona fide fraud, but they don't seem to care. They are probably just partners in the scam and split the profits. The problems begin when they arrive at the Dalaman airport, in Turkey. My car was to be picked up at 3:00 a.m. and the same time for delivery 6 days later. The instructions were clear; "A representative of SURPRICE RENT A CAR will be waiting for you at the arrival gates of Dalaman International Airport with his name on a board to take you to his vehicle, which will be parked near the airport." At 02.15 we were out and we waited until 03.30 and no one showed up. After calling several times, we received a WhatsApp with instructions to go pick up. It was already 04:15. After a long trip, we started badly. Upon arrival, first scam attempt: 40 Euros for pick up and delivery after hours (The schedule was clearly typified at the time of payment). Credit card for a deposit of 511 Euros, since we had full insurance with a franchise. After charging, the tension with the worker continues. Already arriving hot and before all this, I tell the worker, that apart from being inefficient, he seemed like a thief to me. Then comes the second scam attempt: He tells me that he is not giving me the car and that he is going to refund my payments. I tell him that there is no problem, as long as he reimburses me for the charges that he had made for the pick-up, the deposit, and the original payment for the vehicle, to which he replies that he can only reimburse the charges that he made to me there. This is so that you do not take the car, but keep the rental amount, since they will not return it to you if you do not pick up the car. Reading on the internet seems to be a habitual practice. Either because you can't find where they are, or for a reason like this, you leave without a car, losing the money originally paid for rent. I refuse. I tell him to give me the car and he rudely agrees. We pick up the car. Holidays starting badly. Concern for the car because we know that they will look for any problem in the delivery. The day to return the car, we left Marmaris. We check that the car has absolutely nothing before leaving. We travel the 90 kilometers without getting out of the car. We arrive at the airport and the same person is there. Before we got out of the car, while we made sure not to leave anything inside, this person walks around the car quickly as if to check, says nothing and moves several meters away from the car, waiting for us to pack our bags and remove everything from the car. When we finished, being at night and with a very dim yellow light, we found a scratch on the rear bumper. The scratch was undeniable. Although it seemed impossible, since it was not in Marmaris, there was a small scratch of about 5 cm. It could only be a stone thrown from another car during those 90 km or something like that, since we were very sure that it was not at our exit from Marmaris 90 km earlier. Very kindly, the man feeling like a winner, tells us not to worry, that it was very little. On 21 days there would be an assessment and they would inform me of the cost and they would return the deposit percentage. With the flight only 2 hours away and the rush, we took a few photos of the scratch and went to catch our flight. The surprise comes later, when we reviewed the photos we had taken on the plane. The quality of mobile photos is now good and they allow you to enlarge without losing quality. We discovered with complete certainty that the Surprice worker, Carjet's subcontractor, had made us that slightest scratch with a key. The following, as expected: Contact with Carjet is very difficult and when you get it, they attend to you, but there is never an answer. The deposit after 15 days goes from retained to liquidated, without any kind of contact from anyone. Scam of the entire deposit, for a scratch that they have made themselves. Some scam professionals. The scratch is made in that first fast lap, it is made in the place where I, being inside the car, it is impossible for me to see it. (If I go out I have his back). The photos leave no doubt. The scratch is produced with a sharp object and with pressure (A key). The paint chips are still there. The scammer is called Mehmet, from the WhatsApp received at the time of delivery of the car. I upload a picture of his profile. Fix for good impossible. You withhold payment from the bank impossible. Despite being just a "deposit" and a hold payment, the bank can no longer do anything. On the other hand, there is no crime until the collection is settled, so there is nothing to do with the bank until they are settled. Carjet seems to be an accomplice and a necessary collaborator in the scam. A complaint and an expert examination of the scratch have been prepared. I will tell you how it all ends, but ESCAPE FROM CARJET.COM and SURPRICE, its subcontractor at least in Dalaman airport in Turkey. They are PROFESSIONAL SCAMMERS. CJT-73144350

This is the WORST company I have ever experienced who left me and my wife in a life threatening situation with no support, help or care in the world. Their staff are shockingly rude, ignorant, selfish and disrespectful with no regard for someone's well being or safety. This company's customer service is absolutely disgusting, shocking and unacceptable. After demanding a refund for our experience, they simply ghosted us and made no effort or attempts to fulfil their promise of refunding which I have in writing they were going to do. I will be pursuing my experience with this company legally and highlighting these events in Italian media outlets. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY AS THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

Absolutely dreadful, untrustworthy company. Inept when it comes to their own policies and procedures - different staff give different advice, and they will attempt to pressure you into taking extremely expensive insurance. They lied about their refund process being instant and my bank say that SurPrice never sent them a reversal of the transaction, which means that my £1,500 deposit for a car I was never able to collect will be held for 30 days. SurPrice do not answer email enquires.

Surprice FARO - One star is a good review for this company. Like Diane these thieves charged me 187 euros(including an administration fee of 65 euros) for a small scrape on the underside of the front bumper! I gave the car back in the condition I received it. I didn't take the additional insurance and it felt that because I didn't take this additional insurance that they would find something to charge for. The employee which took over my car quickly managed to find this little scrape (1cm)as if it was something she was expecting to find. The car was only used to drive to a hotel and park up with no contact being made. I am very happy to pay for something I have done and have no issue in doing so. No doubt they won't even repair this either. Please be very wary of this company and I recommend use someone else. A shuttle bus picks you up from the Airport (Faro) and takes to to there site approx 5 mins away. Collection was extremely slow two people serving a customer each(wasn't even busy) but they seems to have one speed - slow and took approx 40 mins to pick up car. Not even an acknowledgment of sorry you have had to wait - nothing. Not the experience a customer should expect. Please be aware.

Make note of the low rating! Poor customer service. They will try to rip you off where possible. They charged me 160 euros for 2 alloys that were already damaged. My fault for not taking photos of the wheels before hand and only the body of the car! Make sure you have sufficient insurance or go with another company. No where near the airport either and not easy to find!
