“My husband and I both have Motorbike Policies with Swinton. Husband had accident 5 weeks ago, still waiting for Swinton to actually do anything, other than pass the buck! Live chat today, a lady told me that neither of our bike registrations show on their data, nor does our name or address. They quickly take payments every month tho. Ive just spoken to another woman to tell her we now need to stop the policy as the bikes been written off, and she asked me who has told us that!!! I have just suggested that they look into this entire shambles of a claim, and my own policy that doesn't exist and get back to me. I WILL NOT hold my breath. Absolutely terrible service, I will NEVER use Swinton again, even if they gave it for FREE! PS - I have given a 1 * as there is no minus *”
“Following an accident my motorbike was sent by yourselves for repair/assessment and was subsequently written of by 4th dimension, my policy details are attached along with the the BER notification from your repairers.
I have be waiting over 4 weeks for a refund payment but have not received it and have had no update regarding my case.
I have contacted Swinton claims and Ageas (who I believe are the underwriters and are supposedly dealing with my claim) no one is responding to my calls or emails and no one is taking any responsibility for dealing with my requests for an update.
Being without my only method of transport is having a detrimental effect on my life and is impairing my ability to work.
The lack of communication from yourselves is absolutely disgraceful 'customer service'. I took out my insurance policy with yourselves believing you to be a reputable company but your actions with my claim has led me to feel you are money grabbing, dishonest and unreliable. I will be making sure none of my family and friends ever insure anything through yourselves.
I require an answer regarding date, amount and method of the write off payment by 2pm on Wednesday 18th January or I will be seeking legal advice.”

“Very disappointed. Just been charged £85.00 to change over my van insurance to another vehicle. The policy only has 2 months left and I've still to pay the monthly premium on top. “I bought my car insurance with you as I thought you were a repitable company. However with all. Your years experience and proffesstionlism you in fact set up my insurance through a company named Pukka. Pukka insurance policy isn't worth the paper it's been written on. Currently I have been left with no car no money and am paying for a car that I no longer have and still. Owe £10,000 on. Surely as a duty of car you need to take some responsibilty to who you paid my money to. Having read the awful amount of reviews of pukka there is no way you should of set my car insurance with this company.”
“How pathetic are Swinton Insurers.
My car as been off the road a few weeks and it’s not worth me repairing so I've had to let it go for spares. I informed Swinton and explain it may be a couple of weeks before I acquiring another vehicle (to find the right one). They have now cancelled my insurance and charged me £50 for the privilege. How stupid is this, they can’t wait a couple weeks or put my insurance on hold until I get a car. My phone records everything so it was quite nice to listen back and hear again how they aren’t a charity. Great customer service
I've not cancelled my insurance; Swinton have. They say this is because “they can’t assist me”. But they are still charging me £50 because “they can’t assist me”.
I would not recommend Swinton to anybody and especially when they tell you “we are not here doing any charity” exact words.
I guess it shows how dreadful Swanton really are when they have to disabled their review section on other websites, what are they hiding.

“After applying for a small claim of water damage to our conservatory because of a leak from our overflow, we were then told it's £500 excess just for someone to assess the damage, in my mind this is absolutely disgusting!! The damage is not even that much! Why pay a monthly premium, only for them to make it impossible to even put in a small claim! Rip off merchants, cancelled insurance immediately!!”
“I have tried twice to discuss renewing my policy, and both times , have spoken to someone in South Africa , with very basic knowledge. I have now cancelled. Why don’t you use UK operatives? Thank God I’ve never had to make a claim! I would have no chance of getting it sorted!”
“Worst company ever! Tried to claim 27/12 was given a ref and promised a call back. All xmas period spoke with staff who dont have a clue terminate the call on you. Paid to do the work myself now - waste company put through complaint and offered me £25 compensation ! Avoid this company !!!”

Even for minor amounts (£25), their aggressive pursuit via debt collectors was unsettling. Overall, their lack of ethics and poor service make them highly unrecommended.”
“i am disgusted with the service. I have spoken to advisors to renew my policy.
They agreed a new price but did not bother to set up a direct debit. This is their department not mine. I spoke to advisors on 3 occasions, I don;t think they actually understood what they had to do.

“The automated phone service is the worst I have ever come across. Due to this I was unable to enquire about adding to my current insurance. I tried phoning again and was hung up on, the chat service was not working either. Eventually I chose to cancel my current contents insurance (started 01/07/2022) and I was informed i had to pay a charge of £21 to cancel. What a great one manned Sales Prevention Team you have created. Never again will I buy an insurance product I know has anything to do with Swinton.”

Your system, either by accident or design, makes life overly complicated for customers. All I wanted was to cancel the insurance on a house which I have just sold.
