“I’ve been visiting 1916 Company since shortly after the store opened in February, and every experience has been excellent. From my very first visit, I’ve worked with Collin, and he has consistently been knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely passionate about watches. I’ve stopped by many times to admire their unique selection of pre-owned timepieces, and each visit has reinforced why this has become one of my favorite places to visit in Manhattan Beach. As someone who appreciates the technical and unique side of collecting, I have my own method of deciding whether a watch belongs in my collection: I put it on my wrist, take one look at it, and see if it brings a smile to my face. During my last visit, Collin offered me a Rolex GMT, and the moment I tried it on, I knew it was special. The atmosphere, inventory, and level of service continue to impress me. My investments bring me to the area about once a month, and every trip includes local restaurants and a visit to my favorite watch destination, 1916 Company.”

“"Jason restored my faith in Miami. That alone is worth five stars." Let me tell you something about Miami. I've traveled there frequently — not for the nightlife, not for the ceviche, though the ceviche is exceptional — but to acquire collectable cars. And in that particular arena, Miami has gifted me with more creative interpretations of the word "as described" than any city on earth. It's practically an art form. You arrive expecting a concours example, and what greets you is a coat of fresh paint over a complicated history and a seller with the audacity to look surprised when you notice. So yes. When someone in Tampa mentions they're considering a watch purchase from a dealer in Miami, the flags go up. Not one flag — all of them. Simultaneously. Which makes what I'm about to say all the more remarkable. The 1916 Company — and specifically Jason, who moved with the quiet efficiency of a man who actually respects other people's time — delivered an experience so contrary to my hard-earned Miami expectations that I had to pause and recalibrate. The watch arrived in exactly the condition represented. Not "close enough." Exactly. No asterisks. No footnotes. No creative interpretations. In the collector world, that is not a baseline — that is an achievement. There's a particular pleasure in being wrong about something. In expecting the worst and receiving the best. The 1916 Company handed me that pleasure and shipped it promptly. I will be buying my next watch from you. That is not a compliment. That is a commitment.”

“We recently concluded a trade with August B. at The 1916 Company in Bala Cynwyd, PA. The watch my wife desired was a Cartier Santos de Cartier. Throughout the process August was an absolute pro and a pleasure to work with. Communications were excellent and, by the attention we received, I could almost believe August had no other obligations besides mine. The entire experience was outstanding. (And the watch is awesome, too.) I have had a lot of watch transactions; this was as good as it gets.”

“Wow! Don’t know what other word to use for my buying experience. I have never bought a luxury item online before and wasn’t sure what to expect. Everything I read was “buy the seller, not the watch” and I determined to buy a preowned watch from The 1916 Company based on reviews I’ve read and friends who have made recommendations, not to mention Tim Mosso’s videos on YouTube. I’ve been lurking on 1916’s website for probably over a year waiting for the right watch to pop up and finally a black dial planet ocean (215.30.44.21.01.001) was there. I put in an offer below the listed price and was contacted the next day by Max Campanelli. We talked on the phone for a while, and he gave me a price I couldn’t say no to. I made payment and the watch shipped in 2 days. Unfortunately I bought it on a Saturday and they couldn’t ship out until Monday, but I got the watch on Wednesday after shipping. Max stayed in touch and sent me tracking info as soon as it shipped. When I received the watch it was packaged superbly. I went over every detail and there wasn’t a mark on it. There’s no way it was even worn once by the previous owner. The only criticism I can give is that the helium escape valve wasn’t screwed in all the way and one of the screws on the clasp was a little loose. I saw the valve and planned on checking all the screws anyway (as any enthusiast should) so no big deal, but someone else might have been annoyed by those little things. On the flip side, the time and date were set, even to my time zone! The watch shipped to the west coast from Philadelphia so I appreciated that little extra attention to detail. I will 100% buy from this company in the future based on this purchase experience.”

“Joshua greeted us and guided us perfectly through our very first purchase of a luxury time piece. He is friendly and relaxed and knows his product extremely well. Extremely poised and well mannered for a young gentleman. When we brought our son in to receive the watch, which is his college graduation present, Joshua was able to very effectively communicate with him and highlight the intricaciesof this particular watch. Our son went from being excited about receiving a Rolex to completely ecstatic. Because of Joshua, I am sure our family will be acquiring additional time pieces from the 1916 company four years to come!”

“I was looking for a Breitling Navitimer for my wife for a gift. I inquired about it and Max responded quickly. I explained my situation and he took great care of me. They overnighted the watch and it made it on time for her event. They even gift wrapped it for me! Thanks Max and 1916 for coming through and making me look good!”
