Had 2 instructors that would cancel with impunity, any time window before a lesson they liked. Both would make full use of the 48 hour student cancellation window that the AA provides however, your time is worthless and theirs is worth 100% of the overpriced £35/h they charge. Their customer service is absolutely shocking, prices are extortionate and availability is non-existent. Maybe it's just that the profession of 'driving instructor' only attracts braindead washouts with only one skill? F!ck the AA

I was given an instructor called Paul. I only stuck with him for 2 lessons which were both 2 hours long. On the morning of each lesson he was late and by the time he had driven me to a location it was 10am. By the time the lesson finished he cut it short for 15 minutes early which I paid for lessons for 9.30 to start and 11.30 to finish which wasn’t the case at all. During 1 lesson he told me to me a u turn on a dip road which went down hill slightly then up hill. As I came out the road again to turn right bearing in mind I checked all the mirrors and there was no cars coming either way I had got onto the road again then there was a car coming to the left which slowed down to let me go. Paul got snappy and told me to pull up on the left which I did. He then had a go about me not checking the mirrors which I did before hand. I thought it was really unprofessional of him the way he had a go I wanted to end the lesson there and then. I’m a natural worried learner which I’m sure most Learners can relate too. I have not been back since I have now found a decent instructor who is calming and more compassionate.

I have taken 8 lessons from AA driving school. The instructor Monowara Chowdhury is worst instructor. She just doing time pass and tries to make you not fit for driving so that you will come to her for many more lessons, that way she can earn more money from you. She asked me to not book through AA and offered her personal bank account details to transfer money directly to book lessons. She and AA both are waste. Don’t waste money and time with AA. For sure you will loose your driving confidence if you land here with AA.

My instructor Mr. Karim (Leicester) cancelled on me less than 24 hours before the test without prior notice, causing me to lose my test date and fee. He raised his voice at me and asked me to go to the police station if I wasn't happy with his opinion. Didn't do his penultimate lesson and didn't refund. Complaints team said they couldn't do anything as I had no evidence. Terrible. I would never recommend AA

I booked my daughter 10 hours of driving lessons. The first instructor cancelled. Then booked another instructor who didn’t turn up and sent me a message saying “you may have cancelled it please check”. I think I’d know if I’d cancelled a lesson. I’m not impressed at all. The customer service has been good and my refund is being processed. But I don’t recommend

I’ve had a horrible experience. I texted them a day before the class that I tested positive for COVID and I would rather reschedule to not put the instructor at risk. They told me it’s too late and I will be charged anyway. Absolutely ridiculous. The instructor was rude about it too. Avoid at all cost. I would never trust them again.

First instructor, Awais Maqsood let me down and cancelled the lesson the week before my test and wouldn't give me a lesson before my test, which I narrowly failed. James Cuerden agreed to do my test today and then didn't turn up! He said I hadn't booked the time but he did it for a previous test that was cancelled, so I assumed he would again. He didn't contact me to see why I hadn't booked it either. Absolute waste of time and money! I won't use AA again.

Instructor strings out learning to secure more lessons, no reply from customer services, and now have to report for not refunding outstanding balance in account. Do not use this company

Had an absolute awful experience that completely put me off learning to drive for years with an AA instructor - I feel that I can only talk about it now. He was terribly angry and would constantly (while I was driving) reach over and beep the horn at other drivers whilst swearing at them and flipping them off. I was already terribly nervous so this completely set my nerves on edge. It escalated on my last lesson - my instructor decided to confront a van who was parked on double yellows (but didn’t obstruct us whatsoever) and told me to stop the car in the road. The van driver and my instructor proceeded a verbal fight, at one point escalating to my instructor unbuckling his seatbelt - to which I asked him ‘please don’t get out the car’. Eventually they stopped fighting, and as I was moving the car off to drive, the van driver appeared and revved the van at me and cut me off, forcing us to slam the emergency brake. I hated my experience with the AA, and specifically with this instructor. As an already nervous girl driver, I felt his anger and road rage escalated situations and put me at risk. I am sad that I didn’t report it when it happened, as I was worried and thought this was normal. But will never use the company for anything.

I have my test coming up next week and since my instructors car broke down he asked me to call and arrange for another car/instructor but when I spoke to them they asked me to cancel my test(and wait for another 8 months to book test) instead of helping me find another instructor.Very unprofessional please do not rely on AA

Disappointing. Booked lessons with AA, first instructor never turned up. Booked again a week after, 2 hours before lesson the instructor emailed to cancel, decent enough of him to give a 2 hours notice. Booked a third one through a friend. After a few lessons he told me I'm below average for god's sake I'm still a learner or i wouldn't need you. He said I was wasting money and that driving is a skill that not everyone has. I told him not to worry about my finance. Thought that was the way for them to earn their bread. Anyway I had 2 lessons left and he told me to find someone else. He still owes me hours of lessons because every time there was something that came up and he had to finish early. Tried change instructor but couldn't and AA was supposed to contact me for details of why I wanted to change but I'm still waiting.

Instructors are really rude and they try to make you take more lessons. And if you complaint, there will be no response from the AA team.

My first ever driving lesson (2 hours) I assumed id be learning the basics in the passenger seat. Cockpit controls, finding bite point, using the gears and stop starting on a quiet road. Nope my instructor had me driving immediately on main roads around roundabouts then started yelling at me. *MY FIRST EVER DRIVING LESSON* haven't got a clue what I am doing. Completely terrified at this point. Awful experience. My instructor was an older man who clearly has own his methods of teaching which involves yelling and shouting which involves running before you can walk. Real shame.

Had an instructor named Mathew, completely useless, does not structure lessons very well, poor quality lessons delivered and does not care about your progression, always turning up late and cancels lesson at last minute without a reason. I would suggest you avoid wasting your time with this instructor as you will never be test ready with his careless approach. To put it lightly, he is a scam.

We used an instructor called William Pardey he actually crushed my daughter with his comments he made to her she had a previous instructor who was really good with her and said she was test ready but unfortunately she had a family bereavement and had to give up so we chose to go with the AA what a mistake we had a test booked and ready to go we found this so called instructor who was useless first lesson had to finish early as run out of oil second lesson was not much better with him then week before her test he just crushed her confidence and said he would not take her to the test and she could also not use his car. Now it is not all about cancellation of the test it was his whole smarmy attitude and was more concerned about his reputation so this why I have posted this review I do believe they are there to teach them to drive and build there confidence not crush them.
