“So bad, no one cared about what I wanted from my trip that I paid for and it was all about making money for the company. The jobs I was offered were in an unsafe environment and really unclean and one of the bosses was pesty. I had to do everything myself so basically paid for nothing”

We want to assure you that we deeply care about each of our guests and their satisfaction is of utmost importance to us. It is disheartening to hear that you feel like we fell short of meeting your expectations, and for that, we apologise. Regarding the job offers, we always aim to provide opportunities that match our travellers' preferences and requirements. However we are unable to make any guarantees, were were there to assist you with your job interview, however you let us know that you found your own employment. We believe you are referring to the hostel being unclean, not the jobs that we offered as you did not start working with any of our partners. Cleanliness and safety are top priorities for us. While we do not directly manage the hostels, we work closely with them to ensure high standards are maintained. We apologise if the hostel you stayed at did not meet these standards. This particular hostel is one of the top hostels in London and most popular. We regret that you felt the need to handle everything yourself. Our team is always available to assist and support our travellers during their stay, and we would have been more than happy to help had we been aware of the situation. “The support team are excellent, however the description of the work experience needs to be updated to provide volunteers with a more accurate and detailed description of what is involved. In comparison to the volunteers from other agencies all the global work and travel volunteers, including myself, felt disappointed by the limited amount of conservation work with animals. The work we did was physically hard, especially in the weather conditions, and more farm based; planting, digging and chopping. Our accommodation, although in a stunning location, was fairly isolated. The cost of taxis everyday to leave the farm did add up. Although it was interesting and part of the experience to eat the local food, it was a very carb based diet and when undertakings such physical work, meant we were all hungry most of the time. A bit of extra protein would have been much appreciated, we all lost weight! Apart from the above, the host family were very kind and hospitable and helped us to organise various trips and outings to different parts of San Cristobel and the other islands. Galapagos is an amazing and special place and I really enjoyed seeing a side of it not experienced by most tourists.”

We understand your disappointment in the limited amount of conservation work with animals compared to other agencies. Our program focuses primarily on conservation of plants and reserves to support the well-being of the animals in their natural habitat. This is outlined in our Pre Departure Guide, however, we will have our team look into this to make necessary updates to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the work involved. Regarding your concerns about the physical nature of the work and the predominantly carb-based diet, we apologise for any inconvenience caused. Our in-country partner has informed us that they will address this with the host families to ensure volunteers receive more protein and beans in their meals. We appreciate your understanding that the local diet in Ecuador, including Galapagos, tends to be carbohydrate-based, and efforts are being made to accommodate the dietary needs of our volunteers. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the stunning location of your accommodation and the kindness and hospitality of the host family. It's wonderful that they assisted you in organizing various trips and outings to different parts of San Cristobel and the other islands, providing you with a unique experience beyond what most tourists typically encounter. “The service I've received from the team at global work and travel hasn't been the best. Before arriving in Ireland for my working holiday everything was sounding promising and good. Since arriving in Dublin the Irish cell phone number they gave me didn't work and was a rigmoral to set up. Secondly the issues with setting up a wise account led me to being locked out of the account with no access to the account. My place of employment for one doesn't accept a wise account,so the drama of setting up and irish bank account has been a nightmare. I've been fortunate enough that the HR team at my place of work have been so helpful in assisting me with getting a bank account sorted as well as the PPS number. Those 3 things were the big selling points as to why I went with global,the irish cell number,bank account and PPS number sorted. I know the company has said they have 24/7 support but I don't feel like I can rely on them when it's needed.”

Your sim card should be working, we have a number of travellers who do our Working Holiday Ireland trip and we have not had this issue before, so please let your Arrival Coordinator know the issues so we can look into fixing this ASAP. We also have not had feedback that an employer is unable to pay into a WISE account, we will ask our Partner Relations Team to reach out for information about this! “Global is an excellent company that makes the trip you book both exciting and easy! All the hard details like finding a security number, travel insurance, banking and phone plans etc. are usually scary and/or hard to figure out but Global took the hard work away and made it a very smooth transition. The team are also very good and remind you to be excited, it's daunting to book a trip to a completely new country and culture but the team at Global won't let you forget what an achievement it is!”

“I received great service. There was clear communication the whole way and I felt looked after and that my travel concierge was doing all she could to help me succeed. I also felt her enthusiasm for me and my trip ahead which made me feel better about the whole process.”
