“Absolutely useless!!!!
there is nothing i could write here about lettings hub that everyone here has not experienced themselves. they simply do not know what they are doing. the person answering the phone is not the one "doing the work". ( or not doing the work as in this case) . they attach documents, then remove them from the portal afterwards, or they confirm they have received them, then lose them or delete them off the portal. all they do is stress out everyone that has to deal with them , including the letting agent who wants tenants processed quickly to provide a service to the landlords. Take ages to answer the phone as well. Have to hangup half the time. AVOID.”
“Tedious and convoluted process. They won't notify you if they require more information, so you have to keep in constant contact or your move-in date will be delayed. It can take up to 30 minutes for them to pickup the phone. I once waited from half 4 to 5 only for an automated voicemail to then tell me they've closed.
They wouldn't tell me what information my guarantor is missing because of privacy reasons, if a date or figure is missing from a letter/reference then they'll reject you but won't notify you, and they'll want everything from you for the last 3 years: bank statement, proof of rent paid from 3 years ago, references from 3 years ago, access to your banking etc.
After 4 weeks, including my move-in being delayed, I gave up. I told the landlord that I'm no longer moving in because of The Lettings Hub and found somewhere else.”
“Like a previous poster, I couldn’t write this with 0 stars. This is an appalling organisation, very invasive questioning and the reference website is repetitive and very clunky. They insust on more checks than many other organisations including asking for passport, driving license and birth certificate. They wanted direct access to my bank accounts to ‘verify’ them but understandably my bsnk account blocked it.
I really don’t understand why landlords or agents use them.”
“Questions for guarantors far too intrusive and far more information is demanded than is required to make an assessment of suitability. No guarantees for security of information demanded.”
“I agree with the other reviews that The Lettings Hub was just waste of time. My HR has provided written reference for me and even called them as requested but they still reject the reference simply because we no longer have landlines. I don't understand why state agencies use this online service instead of trusting themselves judgements on the information provided.”
“My application to act a guarantor was dealt with efficiently and quickly with clear communication throughout.
The company acted very professionally throughout the process.
I would highly recommend them.”
“Unfortunately I wasn't able to write this review with 0 stars.
It's not only the worst referencing firm I've ever seen it seems to employ people who are devoid of all the knowledge that's needed to carry out this sensitive process.
They are over invasive, obstructive without even realising so, and their software is clunky and restrictive.
I strong advise landlords, agents and prospective tenants not to engage with it as it is a time wasting exercise that is inaccurate in so many ways. Not fit for purpose!!”
“The Lettings Hub are without doubt the worst tenant referencing company out there. Chronically understaffed, flawed procedures and a "couldn't care less" attitude all lead to the mountain of justifiably negative reviews on this dreadful shower.
Please, do yourself a favour, if your prospective landlord proposes using Lettings Hub to vet you, politely decline and use another agent.”
“Absolutely the worst system I've ever encountered.
Wouldn't let me complete a simple UK address. When IT manually fixed that, all financial and ID records were deleted.
Kept connecting to wrong property ref.
Contacted Lettings hub 5 times over a week and problem still persists.”
“Absolutely awful website. Impossible to get a response; terrible user design. NO idea why estate agents are using it. Delays process and is stressful. No response to emails.”
“Working for an estate agency we require constant communication with Lettings Hub. I can't be more grateful to Abbi Wells, as she is outstanding with her knowledge and ability to provide a clear understanding if something is out place. Thank you so so much Abbi.”
“Very happy with Samantha Parker, very friendly, professional and easy to speak with. We have just started to use The Lettings Hub, the referencing process ran very smooth and was quick, would recommend.”
“The worst company to deal with.
Myself and my partner entered the referencing stage for a rental property with a guarantor in place. After 2 weeks, having provided every document they asked for, we were still no closer to being done.
They gave us no updates - I had to ring and ask what stage they were at to find out what extra documents they needed.
We were sending documents which they confirmed in writing they had received, only for them to claim a week later that they haven't had them. The whole experience was an absolute joke and it almost cost us the property.
Luckily, our estate agent (who was also thoroughly unimpressed by The Lettings Hub) moved us over to Rightmove's referencing process, which we passed within 2 days, no issues at all.
All estate agents, landlords & tenants should avoid The Lettings Hub.”
“I can endorse ALL the poor reviews here. Never had the misfortune to deal with such an incompetent company. 3 weeks and still waiting for completion. All documents submitted 2 weeks ago and resubmitted again and again. If there was not such a shortage of rentals at the moment would have walked away and rented somewhere else via a local independent agent who would have sorted everything professionally in 48 hours max. Recipe for additional ongoing stress on top of the usual moving stresses!”
“Awful. If you find out that your letting agent use this service for references, you should look elsewhere. The amount of personal information you have to provide is absurd. Their algorithm rejected me even though I was applying for a flat that was less rent than I have comfortably afforded for the past 3 years!”
