“Wasn’t sure what the result would be, but I was after a more ashy blonde as my blonde was starting to look a bit brassy. So I tried the San Remo after consulting with Camilla. The result looks like ive had a toner put on my hair - it’s definitely more ashy so it has delivered. Also my hair feels lovely. Will continue using 😊”

“I tried the Shade on the free trial to see if it suited my hair as it was getting so expensive going to a hairdresser. I loved the results and I am now on the 4th delivery of my colour. It’s great and it has saved me hundreds of dollars not going to a hairdresser. I use number 9 light blonde, I get 2 lots because of the length of my hair. Thank you and I will continue to carry in with my subscription, I have recommended to friends.”

“The Shade is my on personal salon in a bag. I love this product and it's not only saving me cash at the hairdresser but my hair feels great. I have gone from a platinum blonde to chocolate blonde which has tones of gold and red through it. My first time colouring, I missed a section at the back of my hair but I contacted customer service and they sent me another pack promptly. I love my new colour and I am excited that I will receive another colour pack regularly to maintain this colour. I'm getting lots of compliments about my hair colour and it is far less damaging than maintaining the blonde I had not to mention far cheaper! Yay for The Shade and Yay for me!”

“Colour didn't mix well (still chunks fo colour) and was quite thick. Quite drying, did not leave my hair feeling soft. Not a natural colour (Palermo), redder than the photos. Instead of a quality colour product you get a regular hair colour and developer plus lots of extraneous items, a placemat to mix on, a hair cape, shampoo and conditioner in those annoying tear off packets. If I'm paying $24.95 for hair dye, I definitely will have conditioner better than this in the shower. Also, the maximum amount of time between subscriptions is 8 weeks? That's too close.”

“I took advantage of the Shade Free Trial (paid $9 for postage still) - excited to try a 'natural' and 'sensitive' hair dying product. I did a patch test to check for allergies and had no irritation...however a couple of days later when I applied the product, the dermatitis on my face came up for the first time in years - I had a look at the ingredients on all the kit products including the barrier oil and shampoo and conditioner and was so disappointed to see 'parfum' and 'PEG' ingredients among other nasties. The worst part - the dye had absolutely NO effect on my hair - I followed the instructions to a tee (even leaving it on a little longer for a lighter result), and my hair colour (golden brown) did not change whatsoever!!! (Was supposed to go 'golden blonde'). Not even the tiniest bit lighter! :( Soooo so disappointed!! I wrote to this company and was simply told "Sorry you didn't get the results you had hoped for" - What about the results ADVERTISED? The cape also smells like extremely toxic plastic material. Not the natural non-toxic kit I was hoping for. However, having said that, I was pleasantly surprised by the fact my eyes didn't burn with ammonia and harsh chemicals like with most home dye kits. But I will definitely not be continuing with the subscription! $9 poorer, facial rash, and exactly the same coloured hair as before applying the dye.”

We have reduced the number of chemicals as much as we can, but unfortunately some are still needed in all products. Did you perform the allergy alert test (patch test) as we recommend? All of our products are imported from Europe which has extremely strict regulations. Once again, sorry you didn’t get the result you were looking for. Regards, Once again we are very sorry that you had a reaction. Unfortunately a very small number of people have reactions to chemicals found in hair colour. If you are looking for a hair dye with no chemicals whatsoever, I would suggest a henna product. We wish you all the best in the future! The Shade team
