Hi Kory, Thanks for getting in touch and I hope you are well. So sorry to hear that you didn't get the grey coverage you were after. In terms of grey coverage, as you may know, grey hair often has a different texture, because along with the loss of pigment there are also changes to the outer cuticle layer of greys which can make them resistant to colouring. The outer cuticle layer of greys is thicker and more tightly packed and it can be more difficult for the colour to be absorbed resulting in insufficient colour coverage. Our 27 vol developer is specifically formulated to cover resistant-greys. It is stronger than our standard 20 vol developer and it will lift the cuticle on your greys, allowing the colour to be successfully deposited within the hair. If you wanted to boost grey coverage, then I would suggest that you add some heat to your roots for 2-5 minutes with your hairdryer while the colour is processing, which will help soften and lift the cuticle on your greys, which helps the colour enter to be deposited within the hair too. Pop a shower cap on your head after you have added some heat during the colouring process too, as this will help retain heat and soften and lift the cuticles of the hair which will then allow the colour pigments to enter to be permanently deposited within the hair. The above approach has been effective on even the most stubborn greys, and I am confident that it will work for you as well. “I love The Shade, because I have the choice of different developers. I only wanted to tone my hair a touch down in a medium beige/ash blonde. So, I got the no lift developer and two blondes tones to mix and the result was really good. From brassy, straw blonde to a shiny dark/medium cool blonde. It lasted me 2 weeks. As I used two colours, I only used half and can now do it again.”

“Fantastic natural colour .. it’s hard to find a light ash blonde that is true yo the natural hair colour but The Shade has achieved it .. I’ve always had a hairdresser colour my hair it’s cost me hundreds every time for a 15min job even then they couldn’t get the colour right ..
